    A Conceptual Framework of the Individual Antecedents to Knowledge Sharing- With Empirical Evidence and Managerial Implications

    Purpose: The increasing importance of knowledge sharing, almost all successful firms deem knowledge sharing and knowledge management as one of the central and strategically most important organizational concerns and allocate huge budgets to the effective management and transfer of knowledge. However, despite some very thoughtful measures taken by organizations, most of the firms fail to reap the fruits of knowledge sharing due to being ignorant regarding the individual, organizational and contextual factors that facilitate or impede the process of organizational knowledge sharing. Design/Methodology/Approach: This research is based on the PhD research dissertation of the author and it was conducted through qualitative content analysis of research articles on the subject matter. Findings: In this paper, in the light of the existing literature and available empirical evidence, a conceptual framework of individual antecedents (determinants) of knowledge sharing is presented. Based on the findings of this research, interpersonal trust, intension to share, self-efficacy, feeling of self-worth, organizational commitment, reciprocity, a passion to help others are the most important individual antecedents to knowledge sharing.  Implications/Originality/Value: This research offers some key thoughts and implication for the managers and practitioners, to know the individual factors that facilitate the process of KS within organizations. The author has also suggested some valuable recommendations at the end, for the effective management of knowledge sharing in organizations. The paper also provides a meaningful and productive ground for conducting qualitative or quantitative research but can also help researchers in the designing of instruments for conducting research on the topic of individual antecedents to knowledge sharing (KS)

    Unveiling the Causes of Conflict Emergence in Organizations and Conflict Management Styles of Employees

    Purpose: Conflict is inevitable and tends to occur, though it can be constructive if tackled and resolved tactically, however, it can be very destructive if prolonged and exacerbated. This study delves into reasons for conflicts in organizations and the conflict management style adopted by employees. Design/Methodology/Approach: Literature about the reasons for conflict and conflict management styles was reviewed, 16 reasons were determined as causes of conflict in organizations, whereas five conflict management styles were investigated about their correspondence to different causes of conflict. The sample of the study was composed of 107 teachers of private schools functioning in Hyderabad, Pakistan. Findings: Findings revealed that unjustified treatment and lack of resources are the frequent causes of conflict while competing style is commonly used to manage conflict.  Employees accommodate or avoid conflict when conflict is caused by personal factors. Whereas, when structural factors cause conflict, the conflict is managed by competing, compromising, and collaborating styles. Implications/Originality/Value: Organizations should educate employees on conflict management along with evaluation and improvement in the structural factors that lead to conflicts. This is a novel study as it analyzed the nexus between the causes of conflicts and conflict management styles

    Factors Influencing Cryptocurrency Adoption Among Citizens of Selangor

    Purpose: Technological advancements and the increase in public interest in digital financial solutions have led to the rise of the cryptocurrency market. This is because cryptocurrencies are offering several advantages compared to traditional banking. However, cryptocurrency adoption among Selangor’s citizens remains low and leads to missed economic prospects. Thus, this study aims to investigate the key factors influencing the adoption of cryptocurrencies among Selangor’s citizens. Design/Methodology/Approach: This study employs a quantitative approach using surveys to gather insights from 300 Selangor citizens. This study will utilize convenience sampling techniques to administer questionnaires to 300 selected respondents from Selangor. Data analysis will be conducted using SPSS to provide in-depth statistical insights on the adoption patterns and motivations. Findings: This study is expected to reveal performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating conditions are significant drivers of cryptocurrency adoption. Findings of this study will suggest that the perceived benefits, ease of use, social dynamics surrounding cryptocurrency use, and resource availability have a stronger impact on adoption decisions. Implications/Originality/Value: This study suggests that in order to encourage cryptocurrency adoption in Selangor, the Malaysian government's efforts should focus on raising awareness on cryptocurrency benefits and addressing social influences. Improving facilitating conditions and reducing the perceived complexity of cryptocurrency usage are also significant for promoting wider adoption

    Green Perspective of the Ecommerce Supply Chain in Online Retail Industry of Pakistan

    Purpose: The study aimed to examine the effect of green consumerism on positive and negative environmental attitude, ease of green product use, usefulness and green product recovery towards behavioral intention to use e-commerce in Karachi, Pakistan. Design/Methodology/Approach: In this study, the quantitative method was used to construct the research framework and conduct hypothesis testing. The suitable target population for this current study is users of e-commerce in Karachi, Pakistan. The study has collected 200 responses from the respondents. Convenience sampling as a technique has been utilized. PLS-SEM has been used as a data analysis technique. Findings: The study’s findings indicated that green consumerism effects the negative environmental attitude negatively and significantly however, it affects the environmental attitude positively and significantly, besides green product recovery insignificantly affects the behavioral intention to use e-commerce. Lastly, the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness affects the behavioral intention to use e-commerce positively and significantly. Implications/Originality/Value: Managers should adopt green company policy to replace fossil fuels with rentable fuels in logistical operations and gain a competitive edge over competitors by developing a new product line in accordance with company environmental policies

    To Fake or not to Fake: An Investigation of Individual Differences, Impression Management and Interview Performance

    Purpose: This research investigates the dynamic nature of IM tactics in job interviews with a focus on the Pakistani culture. Though, candidates use different IM types of tactics meaningfully to create specific impressions and the individual differences and outcomes associated with these combinations. This study seeks to understand honesty-humility, extraversion self-esteem, and self-monitoring influence the use of honest and deceptive IM tactics and their subsequent impact on interview performance. Design/Methodology/Approach: Questionnaires were given to 209 business students as part of mock interviews that involved 10 professional interviewers. The study employed self-report measures on personality traits, IM tactics, and interview performance, and data analysis was done through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).   Findings: The present research offers empirical support for the hypothesis that honesty-humility, extraversion self-esteem and self-monitoring significantly predict the use and effectiveness of IM tactics in improving interview performance. Honest IM tactics, which improve perceived job and organizational fit, lead to better performance outcomes, while deceptive IM tactics do not. Implications/Originality/Value: The findings advocate for incorporating personality assessments into the hiring process to better understand candidates' predispositions towards certain IM tactics. This helps in selecting individuals who align well with organizational values and job requirements. &nbsp

    Mapping the Research Landscape: Bibliometric Insights into Sustainability Governance and Sustainability Performance

    Purpose: This study aims to outline the most important journals, authors, current trends, and themes related to sustainability governance and sustainable performance of top UK firms that make up the FTSE Russell 500 Index. It also synthesizes existing literature and findings in this area. Design/Methodology/Approach: Our study covered three decades, from 2001 to 2024, and included 165 studies from 144 scientific journals that were selected for bibliometric analysis. Three significant streams have been discovered by our research: First one is to explore the impact of sustainability governance on sustainability performance and second, third is importance & popular area/subject that is frequently cited in sustainability governance and sustainable performance and next research agenda through selected papers. Findings: Thematic map classifies the impact of sustainability governance and performance relationship themes into three classes including niche’s themes related to sustainability and performance, evolution map related to sustainability development and ESG/ESE and emerging/declining themes related to sustainability governance with sustainability performance. Implications/Originality/Value: By means of this research, researchers, community authorities, governance of the companies, and consultants of businesses will comprehend the situation regarding sustainable governance and sustainability performance through ESG/ESE. In conclusion, we highlight the most significant practical findings and list the areas that still require research

    Impact of Intellectual Capital and Organisational Culture on Financial Performance: Mediation by Knowledge Management in Higher Education Institutions in Libya

    Purpose: Sustained volatility has worse affected, again, the already, noteworthy decline in the financial performance of Libya’s higher education system since the year 2011. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to develop a conceptual frame work that would help in understanding the factors that affects the financial position of Libyan university. Design/Methodology/Approach: The intended study will adopt a quantitative research approach and data collection tool for the study will be through a questionnaire survey. The participants of the sample will be the people occupying the positions of directors of the Office of Administrative and Financial Affairs, chiefs and senior managers of financial departments, accountants, auditors, and other officials engaged in financial administration. All the information collected from the survey shall be tested by structural equation modeling (SEM) in the AMOS program. Findings: This study significantly advances our understanding of how organizational culture, knowledge management, and intellectual capital impact the financial performance of higher education institutions in Libya. The findings provide actionable insights and tools for financial stakeholders, policymakers, and decision-makers to enhance financial performance within these institutions effectively. Implications/Originality/Value: This study aims to address the existing gaps in the present literature on organizational culture, knowledge management, intellectual capital, and their influence on financial performance in higher education. The study's results will have practical ramifications for financial professionals, regulators, and stakeholders, providing useful insights and methods to improve the financial performance of Libyan higher education institution

    Green Growth and Financial Development: A Path to Environmental Sustainability in Pakistan

    Purpose: The pressing need to reconcile conflicting priorities—fostering economic growth, ensuring environmental sustainability, and mitigating the adverse impacts of greenhouse gas emissions—is becoming increasingly evident.Top of Form Addressing these concerns, the study explore the ramifications of various factors – namely, green growth, foreign direct investment (FDI), financial development (FD), and gross domestic product (GDP) on environmental sustainability. Design/Methodology/Approach: Drawing on data spanning from 1987 to 2022 in the context of Pakistan. This study employs the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) technique to check the association between variables. Findings: The study reveals significant empirical insights. Specifically, it highlights the constructive contributions of green growth and financial development toward enhancing environmental quality. Conversely, it underscores the dual role played by GDP and FDI, acting as drivers that intensify CO2 emissions. Implications/Originality/Value: These findings underscore the complexity of the interplay between economic development, environmental considerations, and the pressing need for sustainable practices

    Economic Policy Uncertainty (EPU) in Emerging Countries: The Case of Tunisia

    Purpose: I aim to develop the first Economic Policy Uncertainty (EPU) indices for Tunisia covering the period from 2012 to 2022, using a methodology adapted from Baker et al. (2016). These indices assess the frequency of relevant terms in major Tunisian newspapers to gauge the level of economic policy uncertainty. Additionally, I investigate the impact of EPU on economic activity. Design/Methodology/Approach: This study employs a textual analysis methodology and a Web-scraping algorithm to compute the news-based EPU indices. Additionally, using a VAR (Vector Autoregression) methodology and impulse response functions, the study examines the dynamic relationship between EPU and key macroeconomic variables, including GDP, consumption, industrial production, and the unemployment rate. Findings:  The results reveal that increases in EPU significantly predict declines in GDP, consumption, and industrial production, while positively correlating with the unemployment rate. Furthermore, monetary policy uncertainty emerges as the most influential factor contributing to EPU. Implications/Originality/Value: These findings underscore the importance of clear and consistent policy frameworks in mitigate uncertainty and enhancing economic performance in emerging economies like Tunisia

    Quality of Listing Firms in Equity Primary Market in Kenya

    Purpose: Kenya has experienced a drought in initial public offerings (IPOs) since 2014. Among varied causes of IPO Drought is decline in demand of IPO shares by retail investors. This paper assert decline in demand is partially attributed to low-quality listings in the past that underperformed in both short- and long-run. Design: The paper investigated quality of listing firms at the time of listing on all IPOs made between 2000 to 2014 in Nairobi Securities Exchange using various dimensions. Findings: The results revealed most of listing firms lacked growth opportunities, reported weak financial performances and engaged in earnings managements. Liberal listing guidelines aiming at attracting firms to list in numbers led to low-quality offerings. Implication: Strategy of liberal listing requirements is counterproductive as demand for the listings keep shrinking due to low-quality of listed firms that underperform in long-run. The study recommends reviewing of listing requirements so that only high-quality firms are allowed to list to keep the market vibrant. As long as low quality offerings are allowed, retail IPO investors will keep off the market as they suffer adverse selection cost
