    Influence of Online Gaming on Behavior of Gamers in Pakistan

    This study reveals that online video games have emerged as a novel platform for social interaction, wherein numerous gaming options facilitate player’s competition and collective interaction within the virtual realm. Gamers have increasingly begun to form distinct virtual social communities due to the inherent capacity of these games to facilitate social networking in a multiplayer online setting. This phenomenon has given rise to a unique social dynamic among video game enthusiasts. The present study delves into an exploration of the social gaming behaviour exhibited by participants engaged in multiplayer online games. Additionally, it seeks to establish a correlation between virtual and real-world behaviours by examining the relationship between destructive and constructive social behaviours and the dominance and affiliation dimensions of social interaction.  Purpose: Online gaming has become a unique phenomenon among the young players with a significant influence on them. The basic objective of this study was to determine the social interaction caused by online gaming among young game players. This study conducted in Pakistani perspective has achieved the objections set to analyze the influence of online gaming and increased level of social interaction.  Design/Methodology/Approach: To conduct this investigation, an online survey was administered to individuals who regularly engage in multiplayer gaming activities and dedicate a substantial portion of their daily time to gaming. The study sample consisted of 200 gamers spanning an age range of 16 to 30 years. Findings: The results of this inquiry shed light on the prevalence of pro-social behaviour and anti-social behaviour, characterized by constructive and destructive actions among gamers, respectively. Furthermore, the study reveals that destructive behaviour negatively predicts affiliation, while constructive behaviour has a positive predictive influence on affiliation. Moreover, certain demographic variables, such as age and gender, exert a significant impact on the prediction of dominance within the gaming community. The findings of this study provide substantial support for the notion that virtual social interactions have a notable influence on real-world behaviours, underscoring the interconnectedness between the online gaming environment and broader social dynamics. Implications/Originality/Value: Online gaming has become a common practice not only among young adults but also among the minors. Thus, this phenomenon has reduced physical activities among the youth and even among the school going children. This study may provide an insight into the matter and possible appropriate recommendations as well

    Exploring Equity in Existing Assessment Practices for Visually Impaired Students at Higher Education Level

    ABSTRACT The educational assessment procedure provides insight into the achievement and competency of visually impaired students to their educators. This study aimed to promote equity in assessment procedures for visually impaired students at higher education levels and the ways of executing inequity. A qualitative approach with an explanatory nature was used for this study. Participants of study were visually impaired students (N=20) from higher education levels. A self-developed semi-structured interview protocol was administered for the data collection process. The instrument’s validity was confirmed through the expert opinion (N=02). Instrument’s reliability was assured through an extensive literature review. Five themes emerged from the interviews of the participants i.e., perception of visually impaired students, institutes’ support, barriers for visually impaired students, effects on career development, and suitable ways for educational assessment. This study in its findings revealed that the existing assessment procedure is quite challenging for them. This study gives its recommendations to Higher education institutes should provide knowledge and orientation about assessment policy and procedure to the faculty and non-teaching staff. The assessment reflects the ultimate learning for the students at higher education level including visually impaired students. A need is always to conduct assessments for both students with and without visual impairment as per their access level. For this reason, modification in the assessment procedure for visually impaired students is mandatory for promoting equity in the procedures of assessment for visually impaired students. Dawadi et al., (2024) suggested pedagogical implications for the future learning environment through the promotion of equity in assessment. Design/Methodology/Approach: This study was qualitative and exploratory. A self-developed semi-structured interview was used as an instrument for this study. Findings: The findings revealed that visually impaired students perceived existing assessment procedures as quite difficult for them. The results revealed that visually impaired students are only allowed to get permission from their institutes to avail writer. The findings revealed that the writers’ mistakes and non-seriousness of visually impaired students affect the career development of the visually impaired students

    Development and Validation of Cooking Skills Syllabus for the Teachers of Adult Girls with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

    Purpose: The present study focused on the need to develop a syllabus of cooking skills for the adult girls with IDDs, as it was observed that there is a lack of practical skills syllabus needed for the adult girls with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDDs) in Govt. sector schools in Punjab. Design/Methodology/Approach: The research was mixed method in nature and teachers and experts in special education were the population of the study. The researcher identified the need by reviewing and analyzing the present curriculum being implemented in all Govt. and Private Sector schools. On the basis of this analysis a cooking skills syllabus was designed, Developed and validated for the teachers and experts in Special education. The instrument for validation (questionnaire) was developed and pilot tested (Cronbach Alpha = .843). Findings: Results were analyzed using SPSS-16 and major Findings showed that syllabus was accepted and recommended to be implemented at national level as 19.51% responses Syllabus as excellent and 51% declared as good. Implications: This syllabus is seen to become as essential part of the curriculum as grown-up girls in the institutions of IDD

    Science Teachers’ Experiences Teaching Students with Visual Impairment: A Quantitative Analysis

    Purpose: The purpose of the study investigates the teaching experiences of science teachers teaching students with visual impairment at elementary school level by focusing on challenges in teaching-learning science concepts and availability of human and material resources.   Design/Methodology/Approach: Descriptive study under quantitative approach followed a survey method to collect data from 50 teachers working in government special education schools for these students. Findings: The findings indicate number of challenges faced by teachers in teaching science subjects particularly abstract concepts to students with visual impairment, lack of enthusiasm among students, limited access to material resources, and a lack of support personnel. Implications/Originality/Value: These findings underscore the need for teacher training programs, enhanced resource provisions, and tailored instructional strategies to fulfill the unique needs of students with visual impairment in science education

    Impact of the Revision of the OHADA Accounting System on the Decision to Grant Bank Credit to Cameroonian Companies: An Interview with Credit Analysts

    Purpose: The objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of accounting data produced after the revision of the OHADA accounting system on the decision to grant bank credit to Cameroonian companies. Methodology: qualitative approach was used in this study.  We conducted semi-structured interviews with eight credit analysts in eight banks based in Cameroon. We used the Nvivo 10 software to carry out the content analysis. Findings: It emerges from the analysis of the content of the speeches collected that the most used ratios by credit analysts are: activity ratios, debt ratios, operating ratios, financial structure and autonomy ratios, debt ratios and net cash. In addition, the information provided by the new accounting system is increasingly fluid, detailed, and precise and facilitates decision-making. However, when it comes to the completeness and sincerity of the information provided, analysts remain wary because, companies always provide information subjectively based on their interests Implication: This study reveals that despite the revision of the accounting system, users still remain wary face of informations provided because of its subjective nature. It is therefore recommended that Member States promote unified information for all stakeholders.&nbsp

    Influence of Financial Access on Performance of SMEs of Fish Trading along Lake Victoria Region Kenya

    Purpose: Examine the effect of access to finance on performance of small and medium enterprise of fish trading along Lake Victoria region Kenya. Methodology/Approach: The study was anchored on positivism philosophy while credit rationing theory was used as a guide to the study. Mixed design was used. Target population of 4,500 respondents with a sample size 173 of traders was selected using the Yamane formula. Questionnaire as data collection instrument. The study data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics which include mean and mode. Descriptive statistics was computed to summarize data before regression analyses. This was presented using tables. Findings: Simple linear regression results showed financial access had a significant effect on performance of SMEs of fish trading along Lake Victoria region (Coefficient of correlation 0.403, p=0.000<.005, t=5.499). The study rejected the null hypothesis.  Implications: The study recommends that business owners should seek funding inclusion to enable performance

    Developing a Model to Enhance Employability for Graduates with Disabilities in Negri Sembilan's Private Sector, Malaysia

    Purpose: This research is to design a comprehensive strategy to improve employability of graduates who have disabilities in the business sector of Negri Sembilan in Malaysia. Notwithstanding their relevant qualities, these people encounter considerable obstacles to employment, such as attitudinal prejudices, insufficient workplace accommodations, and discrepancies between their skills and employer expectations. The study used a mixed-methods approach to identify significant obstacles and evaluate the readiness of private sector firms to employ handicapped graduates. Findings: The study indicates that while several private sector businesses are inclined to employ graduates with impairments, they encounter obstacles concerning accessibility, knowledge, and preparation. Identified key impediments are inadequate training opportunities, adverse views toward disability, and the absence of support structures inside enterprises. The suggested strategy includes specialized training programs, promotion of inclusive hiring practices, and strategic alliances with disability groups, designed to align the abilities of handicapped graduates with corporate needs. Implications/Values: The results underscore the need for systemic reform in employment processes to promote diversity and fairness throughout the workforce. This concept, by aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—especially in fostering decent work and mitigating inequalities—has the potential to cultivate a more inclusive job environment in Negri Sembilan. The results are anticipated to provide significant insights for policymakers, employers, and disability advocacy organizations, facilitating improved socio-economic inclusion and empowerment with disabilities in the labor market

    Influence of Financial Intermediation on Sustainability of Youth Owned Enterprises in Western region, Kenya

    Purpose: Despite the challenges besetting youth-owned enterprises in accessing funds from sources such as YEDF, county youth funds, Uwezo Fund, and Women Enterprise Fund, the financial sustainability of the enterprise remains an issue. This research investigates the influence of financial intermediation on sustainable youth-owned enterprises in Western Kenya. Design/Methodology/Approach: The research adapted a pragmatic approach and descriptive survey design based on the framed financial intermediation theory. It focused on chairpersons or owners of 443 registered youth-owned enterprises within Kakamega, Vihiga, Busia, and Bungoma counties and used Taro Yamane’s proportional sampling formula to arrive at 210 respondents. Both structured and semi-structured questionnaires were used to collect primary data, while financial data was obtained from secondary data sheets. Data analysis was done using SPSS (version 23) with descriptive and inferential statistics, and tables were used to present the results. Findings: The results of linear regression analysis revealed that financial intermediation (β = 0. 629) had a positive and significant (P≤0.001) relationship with sustainability. Implications/Originality/Value: Findings reveal that financial intermediation exerts a considerable influence on the survival of start-ups and businesses owned and operated by youth. This exploration appropriates financing policies, partnerships, financial training, risk management, planning services, networking, and capacities for enhancing sustainability

    Influence of Trust on Knowledge Sharing: Empirical Evidence and Managerial Implications

    Purpose: This paper is an endeavor to present an account of the influence of trust on knowledge sharing to familiarize managers and practitioners with this essential aspect of knowledge sharing in light of existing literature and empirical evidence.                  Design/Methodology/Approach: This research is based on the PhD research dissertation of the author and it was conducted through qualitative content analysis of research articles on the subject matter. Findings: In the light of existing literature and available empirical findings, trust has been identified as not only an important, but the most important of the critical factors in sharing knowledge amongst organizational members, since trust reduces the feelings of strangeness and apprehension and enhances confidence of the organizational members to share the knowledge. Implications/Originality/Value: This paper presents some key implications and recommendations for managers and practitioners to realize the significance of trust for knowledge sharing and for creating an organizational working environment characterized by a high level of trust among the organizational members to enable the efficient and effective sharing of knowledge among organizational members

Implications: The study findings have shown that usage of finance is significant hence available funds should be utilized to enable performance maximization
