Potensi Ekstrak Biji Pangi (Pangium edule Reinw) sebagai Pengawet Alami Pada Ikan Mujair (Oreochromis mossambicus)
Mujair fish (Oreochromis mossambicus) is a freshwater fish that is commonly consumed. This is due that they are easily found and obtrained and with a price in fresh markets that are relatively cheap. Unfortunately, this fish happens to be a very perishable commodity, due to it’s sensitiveness to spoilage because of its high protein content and moisture content. Pangi seeds (Pangium edule) is known to contain tanines, natural polyphenols that inhibits microorganisms through their cell wall permeability. The purpose of this research was to test the potential of pangi seeds crude extract as natural pangi seed toxiti preservatives on mujair fish, shelf life potential on mujair fish. This was achieved by marinating the fish in crude pangi seed extracts at concentrations of 0% (control), 5% and 10% and then store for 4 days at room temperature. Parameters tested on this research includes cyanide identification BSLT toxicity testing and fish spoilage (degradation) through protein changes and pH. Results of this research indicated that pangi seeds crude extract does not contain any cyanide of whatsoever, pangi seed crude extract toxicity testing indicated thatit was not toxic to a concentration of 128233mg/L, meanwhile protein analysis indicated that the optimum concentration of pangi seed crude extract to inhibit fish spoilage is 10% while in terms of pH degradation, the optimum concentration was 5%
Analisis Kandungan Mineral Pasir Pantai Bajul Mati Kabupaten Malang Menggunakan XRF dan XRD
Mineral exploration in Indonesia has not been evenly distributed, so a study with title analysis of the sand mineral content of Bajul Mati Malang Regency was carried out using XRF and XRD. The aims of this study to determine the percentage of mineral that containing in the sand of Bajul Mati beach in Malang Regency. The instruments used XRF and XRD where the samples were placed in a sample holder and irradiated with X-rays then. The result of analysis of mineral content and metal oxide in Bajul Mati beach sand showed that the beach sand of Bajul Mati has the big potential to be used as a base for making nanomaterials. The results of analysis of XRF showed that the content of SiO2 was 46.7% and the results of analysis of XRD showed that the SiO2 mineral has the quartz phased. Bajul Mati beach sand has the potential to be a source of mineral material
Kinetika Adsorpsi Zat Warna Tartrazina Menggunakan Limbah Ampas Tahu sebagai Adsorben
It has been conducted a research about the utilization waste of tofu as adsorbent of tartrazine dye. Utilization waste of tofu as adsorption because tofu contains protein which has the power adsorption of amino acids that form a zwitter ion. The purpose of this study was to determine the adsorption process and adosrption kinetics model of tartrazine dye by waste of tofu as adsorbent. Making the adsorbent is done by making waste of tofu into powder with a size of 100 mesh. The method used in the analysis of tartrazine dye is using UV-Vis. Adsorption of of tartrazine dye using waste of tofu at concentrations of 50 ppm and a contact time of 80 minutes with weight adsorbent 0.3 g. The two isotherms were used that Langmuir isotherm and Freundlich isotherm, the adsorption studies of tartrazine dye adsorbent waste of tofu follow Freundlich adsorption isotherms with a correlation coefficient (R2) of 94.4%, KF is 0.0026 mg/g and n is 0.5621. Adsorption kinetics of of tartrazine dye adsorbent waste of tofu following the model of adsorption Ho pseudo-second order with a correlation coefficient (R2) of 100%, Xe is 1.7761 mg/g and k2,ads is -0.6550 g/mg minutes. Optimasi Penggunaan Sistem Preparasi Berbantuan Gelombang Mikro pada Analisis Logam Timbal dalam Ikan Tuna Kemasan Kaleng secara Spektrofotometri Serapan Atom
In this paper, an efficient and rapid acid digestion method using microwave preparation system (MPS Titan 100) was to optimize and validate for determination of Lead content in canned tuna sample. The sample were digested in 6 variation of acids combination including HNO3, H2O2, and H2SO4. The digested samples were subjected to flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer for determination of Lead. The method was validated for linearity, precision, accuracy, limit of detection and limit of quantification. The optimized method showed good regression, r = 0.9997. The limit of detection and limit of quantification were found to be 0.54446 ppm and 1.8148 ppm, respectively. Precision of the method was checked by % RSD with result 0.27%. Accuracy of the method was indicated by % recovery study and resulting 109.24 % for Lead analysis. This analytical results were agreed well, as confirmed by the accepted range according to standards and guidelines. This procedure was applied to the determination lead in canned tuna sample and resulting 0.6951 ppm for A sample, 0,4634 ppm for B sample and 0.7073 ppm for C sample

Penggunaan Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) untuk Mengurangi Miskonsepsi Siswa pada Materi Asam Basa
This study aims to determine the effect of the use of Problem Based Learning towards reducing students' misconceptions on acid-base material. The learning model used in this study is the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The population in this study were all students of class XII IPA in Tomitas Caritas Catholic High School while the sample used was class XII IPA 2. Data collection techniques used a two-tier diagnostic test. Analysis of the data used in this study is the Rasch model and hypothesis testing. The results showed that there were still students who experienced misconceptions even including students who had high abilities, and the average pretest learning outcomes = 48.6 while the average posttest learning outcomes = 86.6. The results of the study for the hypothesis test were analyzed using the T-test statistic at a significant level of 0.05 and the results obtained were obtained at 7.90> 1.684 Ttable so that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XII IPA di SMA Katolik Karitas Tomohon sedangkan sampel yang digunakan yaitu kelas XII IPA 2. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes diagnostic two-tier. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rasch model dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa masih ada siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi bahkan termasuk siswa yang memiliki kemampuan yang tinggi, dan rata-rata hasil belajar pretest = 48.6 sedangkan rata-rata hasil belajar Posttest = 86.6. Hasil penelitian untuk uji hipotesis dianalisis menggunakan statistik uji-T pada taraf signifikan 0.05 dan hasil yang diperoleh yaitu diperoleh Thitung 7.90 > 1.684 Ttabel sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dapat mengurangi miskonsepsi siswa
Destilasi Kering Sampah Plastik Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)
Indonesia is the second largest contributor of plastic waste in the world. Lack of public knowledge about the negative effects of plastic waste and the management of plastic waste that has not been good causes a buildup of plastic waste. This study aims to convert LDPE plastic waste into a liquid similar to petroleum, separate and analyze the chemical components present in the liquid produced by the distillation of dry plastic waste. Plastic waste is dry distilled at temperatures up to 300 oC, without solvents involved. Liquid distilled from a distillation of dry distillation (Fractionation) to separate the chemical components. To find out what chemical components are present, the resulting liquid from multilevel distillation (Fractionation) was analyzed by means of Infrared Spectroscopy (IR) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The results of IR analysis on the LDPE plastic waste fractionation distillation fluid showed the presence of Aromatic, Alkane and Alkene functional groups. The results of GC-MS analysis on the LDPE plastic waste fractionation distillation fluid for each fraction showed that in general it is a group of hydrocarbon compounds with different molecular masses
Analisis Logam Timbal (Pb) sebagai Pembelajaran Menggunakan Model Problem Based Learning Kabupaten Kepulauan Sangihe
The impact of the use of refined petroleum on potential pollution in mangrove allows the presence of lead metal (Pb) in the Sangihe Islands Restoration and Learning Center and the use of mangroves in the Sangihe Islands Restoration and Mangrove Learning Center as a place of learning has not been carried out to the full. Therefore, in this regard, a study was carried out by analyzing Pb metals in sediments, Gastropod shells and Bivalvia shells in the research subsystem zone of the Sangihe Islands Restoration and Mangrove Learning Center which were then designed into learning designs using a model of problem based learning. The research method used is an exploratory method. Pb metal analysis was performed using an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer instrument resulting in an average Pb metal in sediments was 0.402 ppm, in Bivalvia shells was 0.04283 ppm and Gastropods shells was 0.0654 ppm. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the presence of Pb metal in sediments, Bivalvia shells and Gastropod shells then yields four main questions in the learning design with Sub-Impacts of the Use of Petroleum using the problem based learning model.Dampak penggunaan olahan minyak bumi terhadap potensi pencemaran di Mangrove memungkinkan adanya logam timbal (Pb) pada Pusat Restorasi dan Pembelajaran Mangrove Kepulauan Sangihe dan pemanfaatan Mangrove di Pusat Restorasi dan Pembelajaran Mangrove Kepulauan Sangihe sebagai tempat pembelajaran belum dilaksanakan secara maksimal. Maka, terkait dengan hal tersebut dilakukan penelitian dengan menganalisis logam Pb pada sedimen, kerang Gastropoda dan kerang Bivalvia di zona subsistem penelitian Pusat Restorasi dan Pembelajaran Mangrove Kepulauan Sangihe yang kemudian dirancang menjadi rancangan pembelajaran menggunakan model problem based learning. Metode penelitian yang digunakan merupakan metode eksploratif. Analisis logam Pb dilakukan menggunakan instrumen Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom menghasilkan rata-rata logam Pb pada sedimen adalah 0,402 ppm, pada kerang Bivalvia adalah 0,04283 ppm dan kerang Gastropoda adalah 0,0654 ppm. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa adanya logam Pb pada sedimen, kerang Bivalvia dan kerang Gastropoda kemudian menghasilkan empat pertanyaan pokok pada rancangan pembelajaran dengan submater Dampak Penggunaan Minyak Bumi menggunakan model problem based learning
Efektivitas Cangkang Telur untuk Menurunkan Bilangan Peroksida dan Asam Lemak Bebas pada Minyak Jelantah
Minyak jelantah mengandung berbagai pengotor yang dapat menyebabkan berbagai masalah kesehatan dan lingkungan. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pemurnian minyak jelantah untuk menurunkan kadar asam lemak bebas dan bilangan peroksida dengan menggunakan adsorben berbasis cangkang telur ayam (CTA) pada berbagai variasi temperatur kalsinasi. Proses persiapan adsorben dilakukan dengan menggunakan furnace elektrik selama 2 jam pada suhu 200, 400, 600 dan 800oC. Proses adsorpsi dilakukan selama 1 jam dengan pengadukan. Analisis yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis kualitas adsorben dan karakterisasi gugus fungsi dengan menggunakan FTIR (Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy). Analisis kadar asam lemak bebas dan bilangan peroksida dilakukan dengan metode titrasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adsorben CTA pada suhu kalsinasi 800oC (AE800) memberikan kualitas adsorben terbaik. Hasil karakterisasi menggunakan FTIR menunjukkan adanya puncak baru pada bilangan gelombang 3640 cm-1. Hasil pengukuran kadar asam lemak bebas dan bilangan peroksida adsorben AE800 mencapai 54,74% dan 65,79%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa temperatur kalsinasi sangat mempengaruhi karakteristik adsorben dan CTA memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai adsorben untuk meningkatkan kualitas minyak jelantah dan bahan baku pembuatan katalis berbasis CaO. 
Mempelajari Reaksi Transesterifikasi Terkatalisis Kalsium Oksida
Research on the virgin coconut oil transesterification reaction catalyzed calcium oxide has been carried and determination of its characteristics include physico-chemical properties, analysis of reactions results using infrared spectrophotometry and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GCMS). The purpose of this research is to study the transesterification reaction catalyzed calcium oxide and find out its characteristics. VCO transesterification reaction catalyzed calcium oxide was carried out for 3 hours at a temperature 7 with a catalyst of 1%. The results of this reaction have as much yield ; 39,89% and the alleged characteristic change due to new ester that is, density 0,88 g/mL, kinematic viscosity 2,73 mm2/s (cSt), acid number 0,59 mg KOH/g, ester number 148,43 mg KOH/g and peroxide number 4,27 mek O2/kg. The results of infrared spectrophotometry analysis showed absorption bands for ester and GCMS analysis gave the peak of the compound suspected as ethyl ester with three peaks which had the most abundance in the form of ethyl laurate 58,32%, ethyl myristate 16,82% and ethyl palmitate 6,92%
