The Determinants of Homeownership: Mortgage Rates, Median Household Income and Vacancy Rates
Get PDFSeveral studies conducted have considered the determinants to homeownership in America. In our study, we are looking at the impact of mortgage rates, median household income, and vacancy rates. Here, we identify how homeownership is determined, how mortgage rates affect homeownership, how median income affects homeownership, and how vacancies affect homeownership. Our study begins with a literature review. We then use regression analysis to look at the relationship between total homes owned, the mortgage rate, median household income, and vacancy. Our study confirms our expectations. We find that there is a negative relationship between total homes owned and the mortgage rate but a positive relationship between vacancies and total homes owned

Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis of Cannabinoids in Commercially Available Hemp-Infused Oils by HPLC and Complementary Analytical Methods
Get PDFFor decades, cannabis consumption has remained one of the most controversial topics of discussion in both science and law. However, Cannabis sativa, from which both hemp and marijuana are derived, has served as an essential component of medicine, industry, and recreation for centuries. Approximately 500 compounds have been identified from cannabis alone, and only around 66 are termed cannabinoids which account for the majority of research on the substance. The major cannabinoid constituents include delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta 9-THC), responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis, in addition to, cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannbinolic acid (THCA), cannbidolic acid (CBDA), cannbigerol (CBG), cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), cannabinol (CBN), and cannbidivarin (CBDV). Through the use of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and complementary analytical techniques, these constituents can be effectively separated, identified, and quantified
Satisfaction Assessment of Pre-Service Technology Education Programs
Get PDFTeacher preparation programs are critical to the success and survival of Technology Education. In New York State, technology education, as a course of study, is required to be taught at the middle school level, and is continued to be taught at the high school level. Although Technology Education is a required course of study, there is a shortage of qualified Technology Education teachers. In Western New York, there is a perception that teachers obtaining a New York State Education Department (NYSED) teaching certification were not satisfied with their teacher preparation program. This thesis investigates the validity of this perception. Interviews were conducted to help frame questions for a survey taken by Technology Education (TED) teachers in Western New York. Upon completion of the interviews, the survey was sent out to teachers with certifications in Technology Education to gather qualitative and quantitative data. It was concluded that respondents in the 0-5 and 6-10 years of teaching experience groups either disagreed or strongly disagreed with the survey prompts: “The teacher preparation program that you attended adequately prepared you to manage a classroom,” “The teacher preparation program that you attended taught you the content specific knowledge required for you to succeed in your first 5 years of teaching,” and “The teacher preparation program that you attended provided you with an appropriate amount of classroom experience before graduation; teaching and/or leading.” Recommendations were made that teacher preparation programs change how they teach classroom management, technological skills, and the amount of time that pre-service educators work in classrooms before obtaining their teaching certification

The program encourages teacher candidates to enhance their teaching experience through not only a different culture but in an Inquiry Based school. This study will examine the differences and similarities of American and Italian IB special education. Specifically, what techniques, strategies, and politics of special education are present in an Italian international IB school.
