Incorporating Intercultural Communication Skills into Taiwanese University EFL Classrooms
Teaching intercultural communication to Taiwanese university EFL students is crucial in preparing them to navigate the complexities of a globalized world. This article explores the challenges faced by Taiwanese EFL students in developing intercultural communication skills and provides strategies for effectively addressing these challenges. The article begins by discussing the limited exposure to authentic cultural contexts that Taiwanese EFL students often encounter and the implications for their intercultural competence (Chen & Starosta, 2000). It then highlights the tendency to prioritize language proficiency over cultural understanding in EFL programs, emphasizing the importance of integrating cultural content into language lessons (Kramsch, 1993). Additionally, the cultural differences in communication styles between Taiwanese culture and English-speaking countries are examined, underscoring the need for explicit instruction on cultural communication norms and strategies (Hofstede, 1980). The article also provides a theoretical overview, incorporating the Intercultural Communication Competence Model, Cultural Dimensions Framework, Communication Accommodation Theory, and Face Negotiation Theory to inform instructional practices (Byram, 1997; Giles, 1973; Ting-Toomey, 1994). Furthermore, it explores the significance of incorporating self-awareness and reflective practices in fostering intercultural competence (Lustig & Koester, 2013). The article concludes by emphasizing the importance of developing cultural awareness, empathy, and effective communication skills in Taiwanese EFL students to enable them to engage with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. By addressing the challenges and utilizing appropriate teaching strategies, educators can facilitate the development of intercultural communication skills among Taiwanese EFL students, equipping them for successful intercultural interactions in an interconnected world.

Moral Teaching Practice in the Course of An Overview of Chinese Culture for English Majors
To address the current challenges of imbalanced cultural input between Chinese and Western cultures and the phenomenon of “Silence of Chinese Cultural Output” among English major students, this paper focuses on the English course of An Overview of Chinese Culture. It explores in detail how to improve the effectiveness of moral education in English major courses by integrating moral education and nurturing students’ abilities. The discussion covers three dimensions: the pre-class preparation stage, including syllabus design, teaching materials, and educational resources; the in-class teaching stage, including blended online and offline teaching, group collaboration, and integration of local culture; and the post-class consolidation stage, including intercultural and cultural competitions, practical activities, and evaluations. Furthermore, specific strategies and approaches for moral education in English major courses are proposed, with a focus on teachers’ role of guiding student, and effective feedback analysis
A Criticism on D. H. Lawrence’s Thoughts of Sex
As one of the most controversial writers in the twentieth century, D. H. Lawrence’s works’ being banned is closely related to his sexual description. His intention of creation is out of a kind of pure ideal of emancipating mankind from a kind of ossified state. And he makes some quests on the relationship between the two sexes. And he also ponders over sex. Yet, the traditional morality and readers’ response should not be neglected. Lawrence’s sufferings originate from his going astray in life exploration. The outlet of mankind doesn’t lie in sex. To make mankind own a brighter future, one can only depend on valuing morality, safeguarding morality and uplifting morality
A Study on the Construction of Dynamic Assessment Model of College English Flipped Classroom Based on Mobile Learning
With the rapid development of the Internet and the popularity of mobile devices, mobile learning and flipped Classroom have been widely used in college English teaching in China. As innovative digital learning and teaching mode, both of them emphasize the autonomy and individuation of learning, which break through the limits of time and space. Therefore, more scientific and accurate assessment model is urgently needed to evaluate the changes of students’ knowledge, skills, learning attitude and other aspects in the whole process of mobile learning. From the perspective of Dynamic Evaluation Theory, this paper abandons the drawbacks of traditional static assessment model and applies the dynamic assessment into every link of mobile learning and flipped classroom. It constructs a diversified dynamic assessment system of college English, comprehensively evaluating students’ academic performance by means of information technology and network resources. After two semesters of experimental study, it terrifies the effectiveness of the new dynamic assessment model based on the data collected in the questionnaires, interview, and the test. The implementation of the innovative assessment model not only urges teachers to improve teaching management, but also enhances students’ learning efficiency and language application ability, thus improving the quality of college English teaching. It opens up a new prospect for the standardization and scientization of college English assessment system

Exploring New Teaching and Research Perspectives in the Humanities
This study provides new perspectives on looking at humanities discipline. It argues that the humanities have transformative powers making vital societal contributions to academia. Academic research is no longer solely the pursuit of individual intellectual curiosity but is driven by national priorities tied to strategies of economic growth and competitiveness. Its importance derives primarily from the translation of knowledge into new products and services. This instrumentalist environment has created a disciplinary hierarchy in which the humanities have struggled for recognition and appreciation under pressure to demonstrate value and relevance. The humanities have long had a societal mission in the belief that society can only benefit from the pursuit of knowledge and the scholarship that they generate. This study concludes that this certainty faces challenges from the dominant knowledge economic policy paradigm with its strong focus on measurable impacts
