Maniam’s “The Loved Flaw.” The study demonstrates how Maniam sheds light on the social circumstances that affect the position of women in a male-dominated social milieus. It attempts to interpret the story’s female characters who suffer from the sequences of male gaze which leads to their marginalization or position as being subaltern and passive. Hence, the discussion of this marginalization accentuates women’s ability to cope with their patriarchal circumferences in order to search for equality and subjectivity since they lack strong voice to express their voice regarding their right. As such, the study polarizes feminism as a way to delve deep into the story’s narrative depiction of women’s plights restricting their voices and potentials. Therefore, the study’s methodology depends on feminism to interpret the effect of make gaze upon the selected work’s female characters and how they resist it through self-autonomous subjectivity

Since the World Health Organization’s Alma Atta of 1978, traditional medicine has come to fore in the global discussion concerning health and healing for humankind. Analysis of Land Value Trends in Southern Kaduna Metropolis, Nigeria
Get PDFThe paper examines the trends of land value in the southern Kaduna metropolis, Kaduna State, Nigeria. The paper specifically examines the trends of land value between 1988 and 2018 as well as the factors influencing land value in the study area. Multistage technique was used in the selection of 387 property land owners and 70 registered estate firms through the use of questionnaire administration. Data were collected and analysed using line graph, mean, and ANOVA. The study revealed an overall increase in land value with mean land value from N14,425 to N3600,000 between 1988 and 2018. Through the use of ANOVA test, it was established that there was significant variation in the trends of land value over the years and across the districts. Furthermore, the use of a five-point Likert Scale revealed that security, high demand for residential land use, general inflation, high population density, nearness to major roads, nearness to educational facilities, quality of houses, presence of healthcare facilities, and condition of infrastructure were significant to influence land value in the study area. The study recommended that Estate surveyors and valuers should develop a centralised land/property data bank within Kaduna State for all firms and it should be updated regularly with changing market conditions, Kaduna state Government should invest in the provision of adequate urban infrastructure as well as the establishment of massive low-cost housing scheme through public private partnership to meet housing need within the metropolis

Les similarités et les différences entre le persan et le français permettent des transferts positifs et négatifs. Ces interférences font manifester des erreurs linguistiques dans l’apprentissage de FLE.En comparant les deux langues, on indique que l’origine des erreurs en français est l’influence du persan.Cette analyse nous aide à comprendre la manière dont les apprenants persanophones acquièrent et représentent les traits grammaticaux du FLE sur les verbes et propose des techniques d’enseignement profitant des interférences linguistiques

The Impact of Modern Technologies on Peace, Security and Development in Africa

In recent years, most of these issues have heightened the tempo which has given rise to their strong deliberation in the region of Africa. Although, efforts are been made in different quarters in the continent particularly, the African Union to deal with these teething issues still, the growing pace and role of technologies currently in the world has not been appropriately and adequately explored to respond to these concerns in Africa. However, this paper does not aim to give a comprehensive impression of the landscape of new technologies, but focuses on the opportunities and challenges these technologies present to the African continent and how best these technologies could be anchored in the African Union agenda to address the challenges before it. The paper further offers concrete recommendations on the best practices of these new technologies in key areas that would propel Africa in the attainment of sustainable peace, security and development in the region
Using the Single Case Design Approach to Evaluate the Effectiveness of a Problem-Based Program in Improving Self-Regulation Skills for Verbal Adolescents With Autism Spectrum Disorder
Get PDFThe current study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a problem-based program in improving self-regulation skills among verbal persons with autism spectrum disorder in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It included 4 cases of persons with autism spectrum disorder, whose ages ranged between 16-18 years, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In order to achieve the aim of the study, a special program for solving problems, a scale of self-regulation skills was constructed, and the indications of validity and reliability were verified. To answer the questions of the study, the single case design approach was used (A-B-A). The results indicated an improvement in the self-regulation skills of the study individuals who received training in using problem-solving. The study recommended the application of problem-solving with young children with autism spectrum disorder, and the use of the two-group design (experimental and control)
