On the Perspective of Cross-Cultural Communication, the Contemporary Value and Optimization Path of English Translation of Qilu Folk Tourism Culture Terms
Get PDFAs China gradually deepens cross-cultural exchanges, it is essential to effectively communicate China’s story and spread Chinese culture, focusing on showcasing a true, three-dimensional, and comprehensive China. The core issue of telling China’s story urgently needs to be explored from the perspective of the dissemination of folk tourism culture, with folk tourism culture terms as the entry point. Through relevant literature research, this paper analyzes the contemporary value of the English translation of folk tourism culture terms in cross-cultural communication. Relying on Shandong’s Qilu folk customs, the paper explores the “source” of Confucian culture and elements of Chinese civilization. It elaborates on the realistic background of the English translation of Qilu folk culture terms from four aspects: language, semantics, pragmatics, and culture. By conducting case analyses on provincial scenic spots, museums, memorials, and folk museums, the paper aims to uncover the connotations of folk culture, restore the original appearance, recreate the charm, harmonize differences, and narrate quality. It outlines an optimization mechanism for the English translation of Qilu folk tourism culture terms, aiming to better guide and standardize the practice
L’analyse critique du discours des reportages sur les relations sino-africaines dans Le Monde
Get PDFCes dernières années, avec le développement et l’approfondissement des échanges et de la coopération entre la Chine et l’Afrique, les relations sino-africaines sont devenues de plus en plus un sujet brûlant dans les médias traditionnels occidentaux. Avec sa forte puissance économique et son fort pouvoir de discours, la façon dont les médias occidentaux rapportent des relations sino-africaines affecte la compréhension objective des peuples du monde entier sur ce sujet. Par conséquent, la recherche linguistique sur les reportages des médias occidentaux peut nous aider à avoir une meilleure compréhension et une évaluation plus objective des relations sino-africaines.Dans cet article, nous prenons le reportage sur les relations sino-africaines dans Le Monde de 2020 à 2022 comme objet de recherche, prenons l’analyse critique du discours basée sur le corpus comme méthode de recherche, et analysons les prises de position et les points de vue du Monde sur les relations sino-africaines sous les aspects de l’utilisation des citations, des choix lexicaux et de l’intertextualité. En fait, les relations sino-africaines présentées par Le Monde est le résultat de la domination discursive de la France. Une fois se sent menacé par le développement rapide sino-africain, la France, tout en position de force, critique et accuse les relations sino-africaines avec une attitude condescendante en construisant l’image négative de la Chine en Afrique à travers le cadre du discours journalistique.Par conséquent, en ce qui concerne les relations négatives sino-africaines et l’image déformée de la Chine créée par les médias français, les médias chinois devraient accroître leur vigilance face aux reportages pertinents, prendre l’initiative de saisir le droit de parole dans les relations de communication internationales et ajuster leurs stratégies de développement en temps opportun pour construire un nouveau système de discours pour traiter de la relation de pouvoir triangulaire entre la Chine et l’Afrique, la France et l’Afrique ainsi que la Chine et la France.

Relationship Between Context Collapse and Regretted Self-Presentation on Instagram: The Mediating Role of Privacy Concern
Get PDFInstagram, a primary visual sharing social networking site (SNS), provides users with a platform to strategically present themselves. Many individuals have encountered situations where they regretted their initial self-presentation efforts, leading to actions such as untagging, unfriending, or discontinuing their use of social media platforms. While prior research has explored the links between privacy concerns and regretted self-presentation on social media, a significant gap remains in our understanding of the concept of “context collapse” and the various ways regret can manifest in the online context. This study investigates the influence of context collapse on Instagram, specifically focusing on network size as a predictor of regretted self-presentation. Additionally, we explored the role of privacy concerns as potential mediators in these relationships. To gather data, we conducted an online survey involving 300 Instagram users who were undergraduate students, representing both private and public universities within the Klang area. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics V.27. Our findings indicate that a larger network on Instagram positively predicts regretted self-presentation, with privacy concerns mediating this association. The outcomes of this research have significant implications, providing valuable insights for educational practitioners to design intervention programs aimed at reducing regret among SNS users. Additionally, it offers crucial insights for both SNS users and developers, shedding light on the intricate interplay between regret, context collapse, and privacy concern. Ultimately, this study furnishes empirical evidence concerning users’ regretted self-presentation on Instagram, highlighting the impact of SNS metrics and users’ cognitive factors on these regrettable instances
