The Obstacles Faced by Indonesian TOEFL Test Takers
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is an exam that determines whether a student whose nativelanguage is not English has strong enough English skills to succeed incourses at a college or university in theUnited States or Canada (S. Kim, 2021; Smart, 2019).This study aims to analyze test taker’s obstacles in TOEFLby Indonesian and specificly the researcher analyzes it with a English lecturer in University of Muslim Nusantara AlWashliyah, Medan. It is through answering the questionnare based on someone’s expertised. This research approachis qualitative method and a narrative approach with asking for five questions. Interviewis done through via messageas collecting data. The questions are Why do you need to study about TOEFL?, What do you have any obstacles duringstudying TOEFL?, After studying TOEFL, what are your wishes?, What is your motivation for studying TOEFL?, Howlong you study about TOEFL?. OPTIMALISASI PERAN PENDIDIKAN MAJELIS TAKLIM DALAM MENCEGAH MARAKNYA JUDI ONLINE DI TENGAH MASYARAKAT
Along with advances in technology and information, gambling games are increasingly widespread and endemic in society. Gambling practices are becoming more sophisticated via mobile phones or other online tools. The aim of this research is to describe optimizing the role of the taklim assembly in preventing the rise of online gambling in people's lives. Starting from public opinion, the laws from an Islamic perspective, the factors that cause it, and the impact of online gambling on people's lives. In general, ordinary people still do not understand the dangers and impact of online gambling on life. With a weak economic situation, people will take instant routes to gain profits such as gambling, lack of knowledge and religious practice as well as weak faith make people fall into online gambling which is detrimental to their lives. Online gambling is one of the causes of much poverty in society. It not only impacts the economy, but also household harmony, quarrels and even divorce. The large number of losses combined with gambling addiction can leave a person in debt. In the end, many crimes occur, such as theft or robbery, even murder. Majlis taklim is one of the non-formal educational institutions that is present in the community by providing guidance and direction as well as optimizing other roles in developing the community's economy in preventing the rise of online gambling.  
FOMO DAN KONSUMERISME: STUDI KASUS PERILAKU PEMBELIAN PADA E-COMMERCE DI KALANGAN MILENIAL (JOURNAL OF CONSUMER RESEARCH)
Penelitian ini mengkaji fenomena FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) dan hubungannya dengan perilaku konsumerisme dalam konteks pembelian di platform e-commerce. Studi ini menjadi relevan mengingat pertumbuhan pesat e-commerce dan perubahan signifikan dalam pola konsumsi masyarakat di era digital, di mana FOMO menjadi salah satu faktor psikologis yang mempengaruhi keputusan pembelian konsumen.Metodologi penelitian menggunakan pendekatan mixed method dengan kombinasi survei kuantitatif dan wawancara kualitatif. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 450 responden yang aktif berbelanja di platform e-commerce. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner online dan wawancara mendalam dengan 30 partisipan terpilih, menggunakan instrumen yang telah divalidasi untuk mengukur tingkat FOMO dan perilaku konsumtif.Hasil analisis menunjukkan korelasi positif yang kuat (r = 0.68, p < 0.01) antara FOMO dengan perilaku konsumtif dalam konteks e-commerce. Sebanyak 72% responden mengaku sering melakukan pembelian impulsif karena khawatir kehilangan kesempatan mendapatkan penawaran khusus. Faktor-faktor pemicu utama meliputi flash sale, limited edition products, dan sistem reward yang diterapkan platform e-commerce.Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa strategi pemasaran digital seperti countdown timer, notifikasi real-time, dan social proof secara signifikan meningkatkan tingkat FOMO konsumen, yang berujung pada peningkatan frekuensi pembelian tidak terencana. Rata-rata responden menghabiskan 3,5 jam per hari untuk menjelajahi platform e-commerce dan melakukan pembelian setidaknya dua kali seminggu.Implikasi teoretis dari penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan literatur tentang perilaku konsumen di era digital, khususnya dalam konteks FOMO dan e-commerce. Secara praktis, temuan ini dapat menjadi masukan bagi pelaku bisnis e-commerce dalam merancang strategi pemasaran yang lebih bertanggung jawab, serta bagi konsumen dalam meningkatkan kesadaran akan pola konsumsi mereka
THE INFLUENCE OF RELIABILITY, RESPONSIVENESS AND ASSURANCE ON CUSTOMER SATISFACTION OF INDEPENDENT ISLAMIC BANKS KCP PULO BRAYAN MEDAN
This study aims to determine how the influence of reliability, responsiveness, and assurance on customer satisfaction of Bank Syariah Mandiri KCP Pulo Brayan Medan. The method in this study uses an associative approach, namely research that looks for the relationship between one variable and another. The technique used in sampling using Accidental Sampling technique. The number of samples used in this study were 92 respondents. The data were analyzed by multiple regression with a significance level of 0.05 or α = 5%.
Based on the results of this study, it can be seen that the variables of reliability, responsiveness, and assurance have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction of Bank Syariah Mandiri KCP Pulo Brayan Medan. The greatest influence of service quality is the Responsiveness variable (X2) with a tcount value of 2.238, Guarantee (X2) with a tcount value of 1.682 and reliability (X3) with a tcount value of 1.670 on customer satisfaction. And the R2 = 0.563 test shows that 56.3% of reliability (X1), responsiveness (X2) and assurance (X3) variables can be explained by service quality variables, while the remaining 43.7% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study
Meningkatkan Kompetensi Guru Dalam Menerapkan Strategi Pembelajaran Abad 21 Melalui Workshop Edukasi Guru Di Desa Banyuresmi
Perkembangan zaman yang semakin pesat menuntut adanya perubahan dalam dunia pendidikan, termasuk dalam hal penerapan strategi pembelajaran. Di Desa Banyuresmi, masih banyak guru yang belum sepenuhnya menguasai strategi pembelajaran abad 21. Hal ini menjadi latar belakang dilakukannya pengabdian masyarakat ini. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam menerapkan strategi pembelajaran abad 21 sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah melalui workshop edukasi guru yang mencakup materi tentang konsep pembelajaran abad 21, berbagai macam strategi pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan, serta praktik langsung dalam merancang kegiatan pembelajaran. Peserta workshop adalah seluruh guru di Desa Banyuresmi. Hasil dari pengabdian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada kompetensi guru dalam menerapkan strategi pembelajaran abad 21. Hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan pemahaman guru terhadap konsep pembelajaran abad 21 serta kemampuan mereka dalam merancang kegiatan pembelajaran yang inovatif. Selain itu, berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, guru juga memberikan respon positif terhadap pelaksanaan workshop dan menunjukkan minat yang tinggi untuk menerapkan strategi baru dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Workshop ini diharapkan dapat menjadi langkah awal dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di Desa Banyuresmi.The increasingly rapid development of the times demands changes in the world of education, including in terms of implementing learning strategies. In Banyuresmi Village, there are still many teachers who have not fully mastered 21st century learning strategies. This is the background for carrying out this community service. The aim of this service is to increase teacher competence in implementing 21st century learning strategies so that they can improve the quality of student learning. The method used in this service is through teacher education workshops which include material on 21st century learning concepts, various kinds of learning strategies that can be applied, as well as direct practice in designing learning activities. The workshop participants were all teachers in Banyuresmi Village. The results of this service show a significant increase in teacher competence in implementing 21st century learning strategies. This can be seen from the increase in teachers' understanding of 21st century learning concepts and their ability to design innovative learning activities. Apart from that, based on the evaluation results, teachers also responded positively to the implementation of the workshop and showed high interest in implementing new strategies in classroom learning. It is hoped that this workshop can be the first step in efforts to improve the quality of education in Banyuresmi Village
Improving Students' Knowledge of SDN 066668 Medan Johor Through Breakfast Education
Sarapan pagi merupakan kebiasaan penting yang sebaiknya dilakukan setiap hari untuk mencukupi kebutuhan energi tubuh, terutama dalam menunjang aktivitas harian secara maksimal. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengatahuan siswa tentang pentingnya sarapan. Metode pengabdian ini menggunakan pre-post test one group design melalui koordinasi, pendampingan (identifikasi, penentuan prioritas dan penyusunan upaya perbaikan), penyuluhan, serta evaluasi dengan partisipan yang terdiri dari 30 siswa kelas 5. Setelah pelaksanaan penyuluhan, pemahaman siswa tentang pentingnya sarapan pagi meningkat signifikan sebanyak 100%. Namun hal ini masih memerlukan memerlukan pendekatan yang lebih menyeluruh dalam prakteknya. Oleh karena itu, dengan melibatkan seluruh pemangku kepentingan dan menggunakan pendekatan yang sistematis dan terukur, kegiatan ini merekomendasikan penerapan program berkelanjutan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan mendorong sarapan pagi sampah yang efektif di sekolah.Breakfast is an important habit that should be done every day to meet the body's energy needs, especially in supporting daily activities optimally. This community service activity aims to increase students' knowledge about the importance of breakfast. This service method uses a pre-post test one group design through coordination, mentoring (identification, prioritization and preparation of improvement efforts), counseling, and evaluation with participants consisting of 30 grade 5 students. After the counseling, students' understanding of the importance of breakfast increased significantly by 98.9%. However, this still requires a more comprehensive approach in practice. Therefore, by involving all stakeholders and using a systematic and measurable approach, this activity recommends the implementation of a sustainable program to raise awareness and encourage effective garbage breakfasts in schools
Peningkatan Cinta Keberagaman Budaya Indonesia Melalui Media FLIP -BOOK dan POP-UP Book
This study aims to enhance children's appreciation of Indonesia's cultural diversity through the use of flip-book and pop-up book media in an orphanage setting. The community service activity was conducted at Febrian Berkat Karunia Orphanage Foundation in Deli Serdang Regency. The implementation consisted of four stages: preparation, socialization, media demonstration, and evaluation through pretest and posttest. The results showed a significant improvement in children’s understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity after engaging with the interactive media. Moreover, the intervention had positive effects on their cognitive, emotional, and fine motor development, as well as in strengthening their cultural identity. Flip-books and pop-up books proved to be effective educational tools that are engaging, interactive, and enriching for children's learning experiences on Indonesian cultural diversity.Keywords: Culture, Flip-book, Pop-up bookPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan rasa cinta terhadap keberagaman budaya Indonesia melalui penggunaan media flip-book dan pop-up book pada anak-anak di lingkungan panti asuhan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Yayasan Panti Asuhan Febrian Berkat Karunia, Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri atas empat tahap, yaitu persiapan, sosialisasi, demonstrasi media, dan evaluasi melalui pretest dan posttest. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman serta apresiasi anak-anak terhadap keberagaman budaya setelah menggunakan media interaktif tersebut. Selain itu, ditemukan pula dampak positif dalam aspek kognitif, motorik halus, emosional, hingga penguatan identitas budaya anak-anak. Media flip-book dan pop-up book terbukti efektif sebagai alat bantu edukatif yang menarik, interaktif, dan mampu memperkaya pengalaman belajar tentang keberagaman budaya Indonesia secara menyenangkan dan bermakna.
 
KKN-PkM Berdampak: Transformasi Pembelajaran SD melalui Game-Based Learning
The urgency of empowering the teachers at SDN Tanah Tinggi 03, Central Jakarta, through a Community Service (PkM) activity integrated with the Student Community Service Program (KKN), lies in the implementation of game-based learning aimed at enhancing learning effectiveness and student engagement. The main objective of this teacher empowerment program is to improve the pedagogical skills and creativity of SDN Tanah Tinggi 03 teachers in managing physical education learning through game-based learning. The approach taken to address the challenges faced by the school involved providing training and guidance on the application of game-based learning in classroom instruction. The PkM KKN activity was conducted on Monday, July 21, 2025, at SDN Tanah Tinggi 03. As a result of the program, teachers at SDN Tanah Tinggi 03 demonstrated improved competencies in applying game-based learning, enabling them to integrate educational games effectively into their physical education teaching strategies
Optimalisasi Penerapan Kebijakan Penertiban Hewan Ternak Di Desa Oneeha Kecamatan Tanggetada Kabupaten Kolaka
The problem faced in Oneeha Village, Tanggetada District, Kolaka Regency is the low community understanding of Village Regulation Number 4 of 2019 concerning livestock control, which results in frequent crop damage caused by livestock. This community service aims to optimize the implementation of livestock control policies by increasing public understanding and awareness. The method employed was socialization conducted through meetings at the village office with participation from 30 community members and 10 village officials, using pretests and posttests to measure changes in participants’ understanding. The results showed that before socialization, many community members were unaware of the sanction amounts and there was controversy regarding the fines. After socialization, there was a significant increase in community understanding and awareness of the importance of complying with regulations to maintain order and prevent mutual losses. Furthermore, the community and village government proposed evaluating the regulation, which has been in effect for six years, to better suit current conditions. In conclusion, socialization effectively improves community knowledge and supports the harmonization of agricultural and livestock activities, while policy evaluation is necessary for more adaptive and sustainable implementation
Penguatan Karakter Baik Peserta Didik Melalui Kegiatan Budaya Mangupa Dalam Proses Pembelajaran Tutor di SAS English Laboratory
This community service program was conducted at SAS English Laboratory, a non-formal educational institution focused on English language instruction. The program involved 12 tutors who were actively engaged in teaching, yet had not integrated character development as an added value in their instructional process. Character strengthening—especially through emotional cultivation (olah rasa)—is essential for shaping learners with strong emotional and social resilience. To address this issue, the program was implemented through three main stages: socialization, application of science and technology (IPTEK), and training on designing character education rubrics. The training incorporated the cultural wisdom of Mangupa, which emphasizes mutual tolerance, respect, self-confidence, and effective communication as core values of good character. As a result, the tutors were able to develop and apply character assessment rubrics in their teaching practices. These rubrics serve as a tool to reduce the likelihood of students becoming victims of bullying, both in educational and social environments. In-depth interviews revealed that the tutors fully supported the implementation of character assessment, even within a non-formal educational context. This program demonstrates that character education rooted in local culture can be effectively integrated into English language teaching
