A SEMIOTIC ANALYSIS OF THE SELECTED POEM IN RUPI KAUR’S MILK AND HONEY
This research aims to analyze the semiotic elements in Rupi Kaur’s poetry collection Milk and Honey by applying Ferdinand de Saussure’s semiotic theory. The objectives of the study are to identify the signifiers and the signifieds in ten selected poems and to explain the messages conveyed through their interaction. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method combined with content analysis to examine how meaning is constructed through the relationship between visual illustrations and poetic texts. The data were collected using literature study and purposive sampling. Ten poems were selected based on their thematic representation across the four main sections of the book: The Hurting, The Loving, The Breaking, and The Healing. The findings reveal that each poem contains unique visual and verbal sign systems that reflect emotional experiences, identity, trauma, love, and personal growth. The interaction between signifier and signified in each poem contributes to the overall meaning and message, illustrating the depth and complexity of the poet’s expression
PENGARUH HOME PHARMACY CARE TERHADAP TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN, KEPATUHAN, DAN OUTCOME KLINIK PASIEN HIPERTENSI
Hipertensi merupakan penyakit degeneratif yang memerlukan pengobatan jangka panjang atau bahkan seumur hidup. Tingkat kepatuhan dan pengetahuan penderita hipertensi akan sangat mempengaruhi keberhasilan terapi. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh hubungan tingkat kepatuhan dan pengetahuan terhadap outcome klinik pasien hipertensi di Desa Pakisputih Kedungwuni. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif observasional dan data diambil secara prospektif dengan menyebarkan kuisioner pre-test dan post- test untuk mengukur tingkat kepatuhan, pengetahuan, serta melakukan pengukuran nilai tekanan darah. Metode sampling yang digunakan adalah non-probability sampling dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Penelitian dianalisis univariat dan bivariate menggunakan SPSS. Pada penelitian ini diperoleh 53 pasien yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan diberikan intervensi berupa home pharmacy care. Hasil penelitian diketahui terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan kepatuhan pasien antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan home pharmacy care yang dilihat dari nilai pretest dan posttest. Begitupula pada outcome klinik pasien dilihat dari nilai tekanan darah pasien yang mengalami penurunan sebelum dan sesudah diberikan home pharmacy care. Simpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu home pharmacy care memberikan pengaruh terhadap tingkat pengetahuan, kepatuhan dan outcome klinik pasien
Inovasi Teknologi Wearable Gaming dalam PkM KKN: Upaya Peningkatan Kualitas Pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar
The strategic need to implement a teacher empowerment program at SDN Tanah Tinggi 05 Pagi through the utilization of Wearable Gaming Technology as an innovative approach to enhance students’ learning interest is driven by the demand for a more interactive, contextual, and technology-integrated learning process. This technology offers opportunities for teachers to create more engaging, immersive, and enjoyable learning experiences, thereby encouraging active student participation in classroom activities. Moreover, the appropriate implementation of wearable gaming supports the development of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity—key 21st-century skills. This initiative aims to improve teachers' digital literacy and professional capacity in designing and integrating technology effectively into the learning process. Through a Community Service (PkM) program integrated with the Student Community Service Program (KKN), the initiative has shown positive outcomes, including enhanced teacher understanding of wearable technology and the ability to design gamified learning strategies that are interactive, collaborative, and capable of boosting student motivation and conceptual understanding. This competency enhancement is expected to transform teachers into innovative, responsive, and adaptive learning facilitators in line with the rapid technological advancements in education
Peningkatan motivasi belajar melalui Digital Game-Based Education: Pendampingan guru sekolah dasar melalui program PkM
This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to assist elementary school teachers in implementing digital game-based education as an effort to increase students' learning motivation while also creating more effective, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences. Through this approach, students are not only encouraged to be more active but are also trained in critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, which are highly essential in the 21st century. To ensure optimal implementation, teachers need to have a solid understanding and specific skills in designing and adapting educational games in accordance with the applicable curriculum. Therefore, intensive training and mentoring are key elements in teacher empowerment. The implementation of this program at SD Al Ashriyyah Nurul Iman Islamic Boarding School has shown significant improvements in pedagogical skills, digital literacy, and teacher creativity, ultimately supporting the creation of a more innovative and sustainable learning environment. Additionally, teachers have begun to evaluate the effectiveness of the educational games used and adapt them to suit students’ learning needs. The use of various digital platforms such as Kahoot, Wordwall, and Scratch Jr has enriched the diversity of learning methods. Teachers have also started forming peer-sharing communities to support each other in implementing this method. It is expected that this mentoring model can be replicated in other elementary schools as a strategy to strengthen teachers’ capacity in facing the challenges of digital education
Pemberdayaan Administrasi Perwakafan Di Desa Mekarsari Kabupaten Sumedang
In Mekarsari Village, Sumedang Regency, the registration of waqf land is a persistent problem because many people have donated their property, yet it has not been properly certified. Many people still don't understand how to register land waqf. This will be detrimental to many parties if the waqf land leads to disputes. This service aims to determine the level of understanding of land waqf administration in Mekarsari Village using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which is an approach aimed at learning to overcome problems and meet the practical needs of the community, as well as producing knowledge and the process of socio-religious change. From the community service activities carried out, it was found that the residents of Mekarsari Village can understand land ownership administration well. The socialization conducted raises awareness among the residents of Mekarsari village to prioritize administrative order in land waqf. The discussion regarding the provisions for waqf land certification was understandable to representatives of the majelis ta'lim groups and several educational institutions from the Mekarsari village community, as well as their commitment to actively and supportively engage with the various dynamics of waqf in society. The community is also able to understand the implications that arise if there is no written evidence in the form of certificates, AIW, or a replacement deed for the deed of waqf (hereinafter referred to as APAIW).Pendaftaran tanah wakaf menjadi salah satu masalah yang selalu ditemui di Desa Mekarsari Kabupaten Sumedang, mengingat banyak masyarakat yang telah mewakafkan harta benda mereka, namun belum tersertifikasi dengan baik. Masyarakat masih banyak yang belum paham soal pendaftaran wakaf tanah. Hal ini akan merugikan banyak pihak jika tanah wakaf menimbulkan sengketa. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman administrasi wakaf tanah di Desa Mekarsari dengan menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR), yakni pendekatan yang bertujuan untuk pembelajaran dalam mengatasi masalah dan pemenuhan kebutuhan praktis masyarakat, serta produksi ilmu pengetahuan, dan proses perubahan sosial keagamaan. Dari kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan, diperoleh bahwa Masyarakat Desa Mekarsari dapat memahami administrasi tanah milik dengan baik. Sosialisasi yang dilaksanakan memberikan kesadaran bagi masyarakat desa Mekarsari untuk mengedepankan tertib administrasi dalam wakaf tanah. Diskusi mengenai ketentuan sertifikasi tanah wakaf mampu dipahami oleh perwakilan kelompok majelis ta’lim dan beberapa perwakilan lembaga pendidikan dari elemen masyarakat desa Mekarsari serta komitmen untuk giat dan supportif terhadap berbagai dinamika wakaf di masyarakat. Masyarakat juga mampu memahami implikasi yang muncul jika tidak ada bukti tertulis berupa sertifikat maupun AIW ataupun Akta Pengganti Akta Ikrar Wakaf (selanjutnya disebut APAIW)
Marketing Training For Grape Plantation Products To Vineyard Entrepreneurs In Bangunsari Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency, Sumatera Utara
Bangun Sari Village in Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency, has excellent potential in wine cultivation. However, the business actors still face challenges in product marketing. This training program aims to increase the capacity of vineyard entrepreneurs through training in modern marketing strategies, digital marketing, product packaging, and business institutional formation. The method includes socialization, workshops, direct practice, mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation. The results showed a significant increase in partner skills, the formation of a wine farmer group, and a sales turnover. This activity is expected to be a model for the sustainable development of village-based horticultural agricultural MSMEs.
Desa Bangun Sari di Kecamatan Tanjung Morawa, Kabupaten Deli Serdang memiliki potensi besar dalam budidaya anggur. Namun, para pelaku usahanya masih menghadapi tantangan dalam pemasaran produk. Program pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas wirausaha kebun anggur melalui pelatihan strategi pemasaran modern, digital marketing, pengemasan produk, dan pembentukan kelembagaan usaha. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, workshop, praktik langsung, pendampingan, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan mitra, terbentuknya kelompok tani anggur, serta peningkatan omzet penjualan. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model pengembangan UMKM pertanian hortikultura berbasis desa secara berkelanjutan.
 
PERSPEKTIF JANDA KRISTEN BATAK TOBA TERHADAP PERKAWINAN DALAM KONTEKS BUDAYA DAN AGAMA
Marriage in Batak Toba culture is sacred, not only binding two individuals but also the extended family. This bond has social and cultural consequences, especially for women who become widows. The status of widows in Batak Toba society has its own dynamics, influenced by customs, religion, and social norms. The decision to remarry or remain single is complex because of cultural and religious factors that shape their perceptions of second marriages. This study analyzes the perspectives of Batak Toba Christian widows on marriage in the context of culture and religion. Using a qualitative approach and phenomenological method, this study explores the experiences of Christian widows in Urung Kompas Village, Rantauprapat City. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The results of the study show that the decision of widows to remarry or not is influenced by culture and religion. Although Christianity gives freedom to remarry, customs and social expectations often make it difficult. Many widows experience a dilemma between religious beliefs and cultural norms. This shows the relationship between culture and religion in shaping views on second marriages. It is hoped that society will appreciate their choices more and provide support for the decisions they make.Perkawinan dalam budaya Batak Toba bersifat sakral, tidak hanya mengikat dua individu tetapi juga keluarga besar. Ikatan ini membawa konsekuensi sosial dan budaya, terutama bagi perempuan yang menjadi janda. Status janda dalam masyarakat Batak Toba memiliki dinamika tersendiri, dipengaruhi oleh adat, agama, dan norma sosial. Keputusan untuk menikah kembali atau tetap sendiri menjadi kompleks karena faktor budaya dan agama yang membentuk persepsi mereka terhadap perkawinan kedua.Penelitian ini menganalisis perspektif janda Kristen Batak Toba terhadap perkawinan dalam konteks budaya dan agama. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode fenomenologi, penelitian ini menggali pengalaman janda Kristen di Kelurahan Urung Kompas, Kota Rantauprapat. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi literatur.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keputusan janda untuk menikah lagi atau tidak dipengaruhi oleh budaya dan agama. Meskipun Kristen memberi kebebasan untuk menikah kembali, adat dan harapan sosial sering kali membuatnya sulit. Banyak janda mengalami dilema antara keyakinan agama dan norma budaya. Hal ini menunjukkan keterkaitan budaya dan agama dalam membentuk pandangan terhadap pernikahan kedua. Diharapkan masyarakat lebih menghargai pilihan mereka dan memberikan dukungan terhadap keputusan yang diambil
INTERVENSI SOSIAL DALAM PENGEMBANGAN AGROWISATA MASYARAKAT KECAMATAN SIOMPU KABUPATEN BUTON SELATAN
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis arah dan desain intervensi sosial serta kendala dalam mendorong pengembangan pariwisata di Kecamatan Siompu, Kabupaten Buton Selatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Data didapatkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan proses analisis data melalui tiga tahap analisis data Miles dan Huberman yakni reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intervensi sosial yang efektif melibatkan pemberdayaan masyarakat lokal, pelatihan sumber daya manusia, pelestarian budaya, dan kolaborasi antara pemerintah, swasta, serta komunitas lokal. Model pengembangan pariwisata berbasis masyarakat (Community-Based Tourism) dipandang strategis dalam menciptakan keberlanjutan dan rasa memiliki terhadap destinasi wisata. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa keberhasilan pengembangan pariwisata di Kecamatan Siompu sangat ditentukan oleh intervensi sosial yang inklusif, pendidikan dan pelatihan pariwisata, serta promosi yang terstruktur. Adapun kendala dalam pembangunan pariwisata seperti Keterbatasan Infrastruktur, kurangnya fasilitas umum, minimnya sarana transportasi dan akomodasi, terbatasnya sumber daya manusia (SDM )masyarakat lokal, serta kurangnya akses pemasaran berbasis digital. Rekomendasi diarahkan pada penguatan kapasitas masyarakat dan sinergi antar aktor dalam ekosistem pariwisata untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan lokal dan daya saing daerahThis study aims to analyze the direction and design of social interventions and obstacles in encouraging tourism development in Siompu District, South Buton Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation studies which were then analyzed using a data analysis process through three stages of data analysis by Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that effective social interventions involve local community empowerment, human resource training, cultural preservation, and collaboration between government, private sector, and local communities. The community-based tourism development model is considered strategic in creating sustainability and a sense of ownership of tourist destinations. This study concludes that the success of tourism development in Siompu District is largely determined by inclusive social interventions, tourism education and training, and structured promotion. The obstacles in tourism development include limited infrastructure, lack of public facilities, lack of transportation and accommodation facilities, limited human resources (HR) of local communities, and lack of access to digital-based marketing. Recommendations are directed at strengthening community capacity and synergy between actors in the tourism ecosystem to improve local welfare and regional competitivenes
ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN MENULIS CERITA PENDEK PADA SISWA KELAS VI SD NEGERI CILUMBA I
This study aims to assess the short story writing ability of grade VI students at Cilumba I Elementary School, with an emphasis on understanding the intrinsic elements of short stories, neatness of writing, and accuracy of spelling in accordance with EYD rules. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach, by collecting data through observation, interviews with class teachers, and analyzing the writings of six students selected based on high, medium, and low ability categories. The results of the study indicate that students’ understanding of the intrinsic elements of short stories, such as theme, plot, character, setting, message, point of view, and writing style, varies and has not been fully mastered by some students. In terms of neatness, there is a significant difference between students who have regular and structured writing and those who pay less attention to neatness. In addition, there are several errors in the application of spelling, such as errors in the use of capital letters, punctutation, and sentence structure. These findings indicate that the majority of students still need direction in writing short stories that are in accordance with the correct language structure and rules. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that the short story writing skills of grade VI students at Cilumba I Elementary School still need to be improved through a more focused and consistent learning process, especially in understanding intrinsic elements, neatness of writing, and the application of spelling in accordance with EYD rules
PERMAINAN ULAR TANGGA BERBANTUAN WORDWALL SEBAGAI MEDIA INOVATIF DALAM MENINGKATKAN KETERLIBATAN SISWA SMAN 2 GUNUNG TALANG SOLOK
Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Fisika melalui penerapan media permainan edukatif Ular Tangga yang dipadukan dengan platform Wordwall. Sasaran kegiatan adalah siswa kelas X di SMAN 2 Gunung Talang, Kabupaten Solok, Sumatera Barat. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahap persiapan media pembelajaran interaktif, penerapan penggunaan media kepada siswa, implementasi pembelajaran di kelas, serta evaluasi ketercapaian tujuan melalui angket respon siswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan media Ular Tangga berbantuan Wordwall mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa secara aktif selama pembelajaran, menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan, serta mempermudah pemahaman konsep Fisika yang diajarkan. Selain itu, respon siswa dan guru menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan yang tinggi terhadap inovasi pembelajaran ini. Kegiatan ini merekomendasikan penggunaan media berbasis permainan digital dan analog secara terpadu sebagai alternatif strategi pembelajaran aktif di sekolah menengah.This community service activity aims to enhance students’ interest and understanding in learning Physics through the implementation of the Snakes and Ladders educational game integrated with the Wordwall platform. The target participants were 10th-grade students at SMAN 2 Gunung Talang, Solok Regency, West Sumatra. The implementation stages included the preparation of interactive learning media, teacher training on media usage, classroom implementation, and evaluation through learning outcome tests and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the application of the Snakes and Ladders game assisted by Wordwall successfully increased students’ active engagement during lessons, created a joyful learning atmosphere, and facilitated better comprehension of Physics concepts. Moreover, both students and teachers expressed high levels of satisfaction with this innovative approach. This program recommends the integrated use of digital and analog game-based media as an alternative active learning strategy in secondary schools
