Žalm ako prototext duchovnej poézie Vavrinca Benedikta Nedožerského
This study examines the literary reflection of the historical context of the 16th and 17th centuries with a particular focus on its impact on European education and literature. A significant portion of literary production during this period was spiritual literature, which played a crucial role in disseminating religious awareness and the shaping of collective identity. Biblical texts, particularly the Psalms, became prototexts of spiritual poetry, providing a stable ideological and formal foundation for further artistic creation. This study specifically explores the paraphrases of Psalms in the works of Vavrinec Benedikt Nedožerský, with Psalm 79 serving as the focal text of the analysis, reflecting the contemporary social situation. Through comparative and interpretative analysis, the research investigates how biblical models influenced the structure and ideological content of literary texts from this period
Neue Erkenntnisse und Korrekturen zu Krackers Schaffen in den böhmischen Ländern
On occasion of the three hundredth anniversary of the birth of the prominent Central European painter Johann Lucas Kracker (1719–1779) in 2019, Anna Jávor, a great expert on the artist's work, commemorated this with a comprehensive study. It not only contains new findings related to Kracker's life and work, but based on source material also corrected some older, firmly established claims. Born in Vienna and educated at the academy there, sometime before 1750 Kracker settled in Znojmo in southern Moravia for an extended period of nearly two decades. He became a sought-after painter operating not only in the Czech Lands but also far beyond their borders, especially in Hungary. This text brings new findings and partial additions – and once more corrections to some previously long-held opinions – regarding Kracker's commissions in the Czech Lands. It draws on archival material and recent restoration of works traditionally attributed to Kracker. In addition to the recognition of several new, previously overlooked works, in particular the previous view of Kracker's involvement with the Brno Dominicans and Capuchins has undergone significant changes. New, previously overlooked works can also expand awareness of the artist's work for the Franciscans in Moravská Třebová and Opava
Johannes Pöckel : ein in Ungarn tätiger Maler im Schatten Maulbertschs
The study is a brief summary of monographic research conducted within the framework of the research programme titled Baroque Fresco Painting in Hungary. It examines the work of 18th-century painter Johannes Pöckel (?–1778?), with particular focus on his role in completing the fresco programme of the parish church in Sümeg. The church's fresco cycle was Franz Anton Maulbertsch's first and most significant work in Hungary. However, recent research has revealed that certain elements – among them depictions of four bishop saints – were not painted by Maulbertsch but are later additions, presumably the work of Pöckel. Stylistic and iconographic differences support this conclusion. The frescoes were likely commissioned by the same patron, Bishop Márton Biró Padányi, who had earlier commissioned work from Maulbertsch. Johannes Pöckel probably worked in Maulbertsch's workshop but did not return to Vienna; instead, he settled in Sümeg, where he received further commissions. His only signed fresco is located in Szécsisziget and is nearly an exact copy of the Sümeg decoration, demonstrating the regional artistic influence of Sümeg. The study also identifies several other works by Pöckel, contributing to the research of Baroque fresco painting in Hungary
More than Informal Institutions? A Typology-Based Analysis of Constitutional Conventions
This article focuses on a longstanding yet undertheorized concept in political science: constitutional conventions. Traditionally distinguished from laws by their lack of legal enforceability, recent scholarship has challenged this dichotomy, suggesting that conventions can acquire characteristics typical for formal legal rules. By integrating constitutional conventions into institutionalist theory, this article addresses two research questions: Are constitutional conventions only informal institutions? How are they related to constitutional texts? To answer these questions, the article proposes two original typologies. The first classifies conventions by their degree of formalization and sanctioning mechanisms, illustrating how they may evolve along a continuum from purely informal to increasingly formal institutions. The second typology reflects the relationship between constitutional conventions and constitutional texts, distinguishing between interpretative, gap-filling, modifying, and contradicting conventions. Using these typologies, the article argues that conventions are neither homogeneous nor purely informal institutions, but rather diverse and dynamic rules placed along the formal–informal continuum. In general, the article highlights political science’s (through institutional theory) distinctive capacity to analyze conventions as evolving elements of constitutional governance

Educational Strategies to Counter Conspiracy Theories: Insights from the Slovak Context
Studie přispívá k porozumění dynamice, která formuje přístup k dezinformacím a konspiračním teoriím, a zdůrazňuje praktické aplikace vzdělávacích přístupů v rámci slovenského školského systému
On the Possible Use of Databases to Secure Receivable Debts
The article assesses the possibilities of using databases to secure receivable debts, i.e. as collateral, more than ten years after the ruling in the case Your Response v. Datateam Business Media where this possibility was denied. In order to do so, it first examines why someone may wish to use a database for this purpose and what the features are, including the limited accessibility of the database and its contents, that make a database an asset that may be useful in that context. The article then addresses the scope of the sui generis database right and its limited utility from the perspective of security rights, taking into consideration the entry into force of the Data Act. It analyses databases at three different levels: semantical, syntactical and structural, exploring at which level the features resulting in the value of the database should be placed, and thus the level at which the question of establishing a security interest over a database should be dealt with. The article goes on to provide for some theoretical approaches of introducing the rules on securities over databases into the legal system. It analyses the perspective of introducing proprietary rights to the database, the possible qualification of the database as a digital asset and the question of its control, as well as the contractual schemes that may be used in order to establish and enforce the security interest over a database
Bridging the Gap: A Review of Cybersecurity für Manager
This review considers Cybersecurity für Manager: Cybergefahren wirksam begegnen – das Kompetenzmodell für die Praxis, a recent contribution to the German-language cybersecurity literature for executives. Situated within the context of rising regulatory expectations and the EU’s NIS2 Directive, the book seeks to enhance management-level awareness and provide a structured framework for addressing cyber risks. The review situates the work in relation to comparable publications, outlines its main thematic orientation, and reflects on its significance for non-technical leadership
