Promoting Emotional Literacy and Character Values in Elementary Students: A Service-Learning Approach at Bunklotok School
The low quality of character education in elementary schools is reflected in the frequent occurrence of students’ non-empathic behaviors, such as bullying, using harsh words, and difficulties in managing their own emotions. This issue poses a challenge in creating a socially and emotionally healthy learning environment. The student community-service program carried out at SDN Bunklotok, Central Lombok, aimed to instill character values and emotional intelligence in students through educational and participatory approaches. The activities implemented the Service Learning (SL) method combined with the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, designed through interactive learning activities such as exercise sessions, ice breaking, games, inspirational stories, quizzes, and a “tree of hope,” supported by animated materials from Inside Out. The results show an improvement in students’ understanding of basic emotions and emotional management, as well as increased empathy and respect for others. Pretest and posttest activities indicated improvements in students' comprehension, and high enthusiasm was observed during quizzes and discussions. In conclusion, character education designed creatively and involving students' emotional engagement proves effective in shaping character awareness from the elementary level

Reconstructing Mudharabah Financing in Islamic Banking: Evidence from Indonesia and Implications for Global Sharia-Compliant Finance
This study is motivated by the limited application of mudharabah financing in Islamic banking, largely due to banks' perceptions of high risk. Consequently, Islamic financial institutions remain cautious in distributing funds through profit-sharing contracts. This research examines the outcomes of reconstructing mudharabah financing and evaluates its alignment with the foundational principles and objectives of Islamic banking. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, the study uses descriptive, analytical, and inductive methods to explore the practical realities and experiences surrounding mudharabah implementation. Data were obtained through documentary analysis and theoretical review, with particular attention to the role of Islamic banks as shahibul maal in mudharabah contracts within Indonesia's Islamic banking system. The findings reveal that existing reconstruction efforts have not fully achieved their intended objectives, particularly with respect to profit calculation mechanisms, which remain a key challenge. Nevertheless, mudharabah practices at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) comply with Shariah principles and are free from elements of riba, gharar, and maysir. The applied profit-sharing scheme benefits both banks and customers, with operational costs deducted from total profits and capital returned to the shahibul maal as agreed. Mudharabah financing has enabled many previously unbankable customers to access business capital. The study underscores the central role of trust and recommends strengthening supervision, transparency, and customer assessment to mitigate risks and enhance Shariah-compliant cooperation
Work Discipline as a Strategic Mediator Linking Islamic Leadership, Religiosity, and HR Performance in Competitive Islamic Economic Organizations
This study investigates the mediating role of work discipline in the relationship between Islamic Leadership, religiosity, work motivation, and human resource (HR) performance within Islamic educational institutions. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed to examine causal relationships among the constructs under study. The population consisted of teachers at State Islamic High School Semarang, Indonesia, and data were collected using saturated sampling, a non-probability technique in which the entire accessible population is used as respondents. A total of 60 teachers participated by completing a structured questionnaire measured on a five-point Likert scale. Instrument reliability and validity were assessed through Cronbach's alpha, composite reliability, and convergent validity indicators. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), which is appropriate for small sample sizes, complex mediation models, and non-normal data structures. The results reveal that work discipline significantly mediates the effect of Islamic Leadership on HR performance, as indicated by a higher indirect effect value (9.558 > 2.247). A similar pattern is observed in the relationship between religiosity and HR performance, where the indirect effect (11.158 > 5.066) exceeds the direct impact. Moreover, work discipline is found to mediate the influence of work motivation on HR performance, supported by a more substantial indirect effect (15.474 > 0.801). Overall, the findings highlight work discipline as a critical mechanism that strengthens HR performance in Islamic institutional settings

Excluding fintech from the business strategy could drive the company out of the market. However, the implementation of fintech in the Islamic banking business has constraints that make it difficult to implement. This study investigates the impact of financial technology developments on the efforts to improve the quality of services in the Islamic economy and finance in Indonesia. In this study, descriptive analysis is combined with a qualitative research methodology. Using interactive models is the method of data analysis that is performed here. The result is that, although the Fintech Shariah authorizes OJK by October 2023, only seven companies, very few compared to conventional fintech in Indonesia, with 94 companies. However, it is very likely to be the answer to the many dissatisfactions with conventional FinTech. Nevertheless, Shariah-based Fintech is highly likely to serve as an alternative solution to the widespread dissatisfaction with conventional platforms, particularly in terms of compliance, trust, and ethical financial practices. The study underscores the importance of strengthening regulatory frameworks, technological capacity, and consumer literacy to accelerate the integration of Fintech within Islamic banking and finance
Classical Guidance Through Habituation of Listening Speaking Reading and Writing to Improve Arabic Language Skills in Syarifudin Students
This article examines the pivotal role of the Arabic language program at Kyai Syarifuddin pesantren in enhancing students’ linguistic competencies. The program employs a classical guidance approach through the habituation of four fundamental language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. These structured practices serve as an effective method for deepening students’ understanding and application of Arabic. The program involves all students in the pesantren, providing them with opportunities to internalize the learning process, recognize their potential, and overcome linguistic challenges. This study investigates two main research questions: (1) How is classical guidance implemented in Arabic language instruction? and (2) What are the outcomes of this implementation?. The study adopts a qualitative case study methodology. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with the Arabic program coordinator, instructors, and participating students, as well as document analysis related to students’ Arabic proficiency. The data analysis was grounded in classical guidance theory. The findings reveal two key conclusions: (1) the implementation of classical guidance in Arabic instruction is carried out through consistent habituation of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills; and (2) this approach results in learning outcomes that are effective, efficient, and meaningful for students’ overall language development

This article explores a counseling technique designed to assist, guide, and motivate clients to explore and overcome behavioral challenges through a method known as Motivational Interviewing (MI). Specifically, the study investigates its application to students (santri) at Pondok Pesantren Kyai Syarifuddin, Maqoman Mahmuda dormitory, who exhibit low enthusiasm in engaging with Qur’anic learning activities. The purpose of this study is to examine the implementation process and outcomes of the motivational interviewing technique in enhancing students' motivation to learn and recite the Qur’an. The research addresses the implementation process of motivational interviewing and identifies the resulting changes in students’ learning motivation at the Maqoman Mahmuda dormitory of Pondok Pesantren Kyai Syarifuddin. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the implementation of motivational interviewing involves four key components: expressing empathy, developing discrepancy, accepting resistance, and supporting self-efficacy. As a result, students showed greater trust and confidence in their instructor, increased motivation inspired by external role models, stronger belief in their ability to succeed and achieve positive change, enhanced focus in Qur’anic learning, clearer learning goals, and self-driven change without coercion
Internal Control System Analysis in The Complete Systematic Land Registration Program (PTSL) in Sukabumi District
This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the internal control system in the Complete Systematic Land Registration Program (PTSL) in Sukabumi Regency. PTSL is a government initiative to speed up and simplify the land registration process, provide legal certainty, and increase the efficiency of land administration. In its implementation, this program is expected to overcome various obstacles that often occur in the land registration process. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation. Analysis was carried out on five components of internal control according to the COSO framework: control environment, risk assessment, control activities, information and communication, and monitoring. The research results show that even though the internal control system at PTSL Sukabumi Regency has been implemented, there are still several weaknesses that hinder the effectiveness of the program. The main obstacle is the lack of coordination between the village and ATR/BPN, as well as incomplete files which often occur during the registration process. This causes a lot of work to be delayed and unfinished. In addition, a weak internal control system causes communication problems and suboptimal supervision. This research concludes that to increase the effectiveness of PTSL, there needs to be improvements in the internal control system, increased coordination between related parties, and more intensive outreach to the public about the importance of complete land registration files. In this way, it is hoped that the PTSL program can run more effectively and efficiently, and achieve its goal of providing legal certainty and prosperity for the community
