Measurement of Long-Term Post-Merger Performance and Method of Payment
Using a sample of mergers between 2000 and 2010, we investigate the long-run performance of Indian acquiring companies. The measurement of long-run performance has been made on the basis of long-run CAR and BHAR using market index and control firms as reference portfolios. The results suggest that in India mergers in the long run bring gains to shareholders of acquiring companies. When the performance is analyzed on the basis of payment method, it can be concluded that in India cash-financed mergers perform better than stock-financed mergers using both long run CAR and BHAR approaches

Territorially Based Concepts of Culture and their Effects on the Making and Reception of Theatrical Performances
This paper aims to critically analyze and reflect upon the territorially based concepts of culture and their effects on the making and reception of theatrical performances. While it draws upon the concepts of stereotyping, selective perception routes it to the idea of the global village that is coming into force today. It looks at performances like Tim Supple’s adaptation of “The Midsummer Night’s Dreamâ€, Peter Brook’s “Mahabharata†and my own performance “Milestones†as an independent project while in London. As the paper progresses it questions whether it is worth revolving around territorially based concepts of culture, especially in the making and reception of theatrical performances; or since, “every contact leaves a traceâ€, our are cultures not already assimilated with one another along the way, and is it that which theatrical performances rooted in cultures aim at exploring
KINETICS AND THERMODYNAMIC STUDY OF ALKALINE FADING OF MALACHITE GREEN IN AQUEOUS SOLUTION
Kinetic and thermodynamic study of alkaline fading of malachite green in aqueous solution    via pseudo-first order kinetics at 618nm is reported using UV-1800 Shimadzu Spectrophotometer. The reaction revealed first order dependence with respect to malachite green concentration and first order dependence to hydroxyl ion concentration. Michaelis-Menten plot showed the presence of an intermediate complex and the reaction is dependent on ionic strength of the solution. Activation energy(Ea) and activation parameters like ΔH‡, ΔS‡ and ΔG‡ were obtained from Arrhenius plot and Erying’s equation . A mechanism is postulated based on the kinetic and spectroscopic studies

Identifying the windy sites in Arunachal Pradesh and feasibility of installing small wind power plant thereof
Wind energy is a clean, eco-friendly, renewable resource and is non-polluting. Wind is an indirect manifestation of solar energy and hence we can say that wind energy is a form of solar energy, about 1 to 2 % of the energy coming from the sun is converted into wind energy. Generation of air currents is a direct effect of the combination of two phenomenons, Circulation of hot air and Earth rotation. Accordingly winds are broadly, local winds and planetary winds. China and U.S. are the two top countries ofhaving highest capacityinstallations of wind power plant. India is one of the blessed countries having an estimated gross potential of 45,000MW power from the wind and is fifth largest installed wind power capacity in the world.This paper studies, analyzes and identifies the windy potential sites in one ofIndian Frontier Stateof Arunachal Pradesh and the papercould successfully be able to assess wind resources and identify the windy potential sites like Sela andLikabali in the state for setting up small wind power plant thereof
An Evaluation of the Pulmonary Function Tests and their Association with Age and Body Mass Index (BMI) in the Southern Angami Population
Among the many variables in the human body form and function, pulmonary function is a major biological variable affected by gender, age, body composition, as well as the geographical location of a population. Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) are an essential tool for monitoring patients with known respiratory disease or for determining cases of pulmonary disorders, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), obstructive lung diseases, etc. Women are found to have a lower lung capacity than men. This paper evaluates the differences in the PFTs between the males and the females, and various age groups. Additionally, an evaluation between age and body mass index (BMI) with pulmonary function tests is also made to find out if there are any significant relationships
