    THE CLOCK PUZZLE AND THE INCOMPATIBILITY OF PROPORTIONAL TIME DILATION AND REMOTE NON-SIMULTANEITY

    The slowing down of the rates of clocks by virtue of their motion (time dilation) and the conclusion that events which are simultaneous for one such clock may occur at different times for another (remote non-simultaneity) are two of the most well-known consequences of Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity (STR).  A simple algebraic puzzle is presented which shows that these two predictions are fundamentally incompatible with each other.  Both effects are derived from the Lorentz transformation (LT), which is the cornerstone of STR, thereby proving that the theory is not physically viable and is therefore in need of comprehensive revision.  Another version of the Lorentz transformation (Global Positioning System-LT) is presented which satisfies both of Einstein's postulates of relativity, but which does away with the space-time mixing characteristic of the original LT.  The GPS-LT is in agreement with all experimental data as yet observed regarding the variation of clock rates with motion, as expressed in a Universal Time-dilation Law (UTDL). It is also consistent with the Relativistic Velocity Transformation (RVT) and is therefore able to explain many of the effects previously looked upon as unique successes of the LT. Â

    Cancer is a deadly disease that has devastated many lives over the years. Cancer, when detected in the early stage, can be cured through proper treatment, increasing the life expectancy of the patient. Thus, it is very important to detect cancer at the early stage. The current method of cancer detection is biopsy which is a total invasive medical procedure. Owing to the several limitations of the time-consuming procedure of biopsy researchers and scientist all over the globe have turned their attention towards the development of instruments for rapid and non-invasive detection of cancer through detection of clinically recognized cancer biomarkers present in blood and other body fluid of cancer patients. This paper discusses some of the novel biomarkers used for cancer diagnosis along with the potential use of biosensors in early detection of cancer

    Optimal operation of Distributed Network embedded to wind – Battery storage system for revenue enhancement

    The environmental concerns and the fuel cost uncertainties associated with the conventional energy sources consequently lead to rapid growth of renewable energy sources connected to the distribution grids. Moreover the continuous increase of power demand emphasizes more and more integration of renewable generation units to the power network to supply the required demand. This incorporation of the distributed generation into the distributed network has tremendous potential if it can be used properly. But the installation cost of these plants are very high. Thus to balance the cost incurred while installing the plant the revenue from those renewable energy producers have to be maximized and losses are to be minimized by using dynamic optimization techniques. The main aim of the project work is to find the optimal operation or condition of a distribution system when embedded to a wind- battery storage system. Hence this paper presents the operation of Particle Swarm Optimization which provides an optimal strategy to increase the revenue from the power trading to the network.     FACILE SYNTHESIS OF Pd NANOPARTICLES ON SILICA SUPPORTS AS RECYCLABLE CATALYSTS FOR SUZUKI-MIYAURA REACTION IN WATER: EFFECT OF DONOR LIGANDS

    Silica supported palladium nanoparticles (PdNPs) were prepared by a convenient one-step method, without taking assistance from any external reductant or stabilizer. The ligands (-NMe2, -NH2 and –SH) anchored to silica gel play the dual role of reducing and stabilizing agent. The materials were characterized by techniques such as N2 adsorption-desorption, HR-TEM, ICP and XRD analyses and applied as catalysts for Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of aryl bromides in water. With the catalysts (PdNP-NMe2@SiO2 and PdNP-NH2@SiO2)coupling reactions aryl bromides were performed without using any phase transfer additive. Under similar experimental conditions, catalyst PdNP-NMe2@SiO2 shows better activity than other systems. The catalysts could be reused at least six cycles without significant loss in their activity. TEM images show no aggregation of NPs even after reusing the catalysts for six times

    Potential Use of DC Microgrid for Solar and Wind Power Integration in Rural Areas in India: A Review

    This paper describes the possibilities of the application of DC microgrids to solve the rural areas, energy problem in the country (India). DC Microgrids open a gateway for integration of solar and wind energies which together are an efficient and cleaner way of renewable energy generation, which can be integrated into the power distribution network. They have several other advantages, which include - reduction in transmission losses, improvement in power quality & reliability, reduction in emissions and even they are cost effective. The most important characteristic is that it provides a possibility for electrification of remote villages, which are far from the reach of the conventional grid. This paper presents a detailed discussion on the possibility of application of DC microgrids for rural areas in India
