    Demonstration of HDM-4 in Evaluating Different Investment Alternatives for Unpaved Road

    In the context of under developing countries like Afghanistan, poverty can be reduced by proper management and effective use of infrastructure budget, and provision of labor-intensive construction projects. The labor-intensive works approach can bolster livelihoods in the immediate term, create new small businesses in road maintenance and works, encourage workers to save and invest wages in other kinds of new micro-enterprises, and improve critical road infrastructure to sustained economic growth. In this study, the use of the HDM-4 model is demonstrated in defining the road improvement and maintenance works and selection of optimum maintenance and rehabilitation strategies available for the road sector under constrained budget available for the road sectors in Afghanistan. This study presents the economic analysis and justification of upgrading an existing engineered gravel road to a paved standard evaluating 8 different investment options. The existing road is 22.02 km long and passes through hilly topography

National ambient air quality standards for PM2.5 and PM10 are 100µg/m3 and 80µg/m3 respectively in ambient air. At preset statutory norms are available for measurement of particular matter in stack only due to unavailability of PM2.5 and PM10 measurement techniques.     Concerning populations worldwide, COVID-19 has registered more than 2.5 million cases—a figure continuing to rise. And though worldwide policymakers and businesses react quickly, more also needs to be achieved. COVID-19 is not, in general terms, impossible to complete projects at this point. But slow them down, causing delay and damage, although only due to serious disruption of supply chains. Many activities have also ceased, normally with the aim of resuming activity in the future. Measures to overcome or alleviate the impacts of the affecting incidents is or would be taken. Proving that as a result of the COVID-19 case will be a key feature of any allegations made. In accordance with certain rules, parties must continue to use any fairly available means to continue their duties, despite the presence of a force majeure event; the subcontractor's feeling that they are returning to work is good, with all respondents saying their subcontracting staff are eager to engage in the process. Meanwhile, an absence of distribution expertise produces a storm for contractors who accept that the potential sustainability is underpinned by a sustainable supply chain.     Effect of Surface Roughness on the Behaviour of Ferrofluid Based Squeeze Film Between Porous Annular Discs

    Efforts have been made to study and analyse the performance of a ferrofluid based squeeze film between rotating porous transversely rough circular plates. The Neuringer and Rosenweig model for ferrofluid flow has been adopted to get the effect of magnetization. The stochastic model of Christensen and Tonder has been used to evaluate the surface roughness. The stochastically Reynolds` equation is utilized to get expression for pressure distribution which results in calculation of load carrying capacity. The effect of magnetization improves the performance of bearing system by increasing the values of load carrying capacity. The results are presented in graphical, which shows that bearing suffers due to transverse roughness. The combined effect of porosity and aspect ratio enhances the load carrying capacity. The negative mean and negative skewness also advances the attainment of bearing system. Proper value of magnetization parameter and ferrofluid as a lubricant extends the performance of bearing compare to conventional lubricant

    The realization of fractional-order circuits is an emerging area of research for people working in the areas of control systems, signal processing and other related fields. In this paper, an attempt is made to realize fractance devices. The continued fraction expansion formula is used to calculate the fractance device's rational approximation. For the simulation in the experimentation, the third-order approximation for fractional order, α = -1/2, -1/3, -1/4 is used. For the aim of mathematical simulation, the MATLAB platform was used. The proposed rational approximation is used to create a circuit. The TINA programme is used to simulate circuits. It has been discovered that the simulation and theoretical conclusions are in agreement

    Performance Estimation of Improved Cooperative Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio

    The applications of wireless communication are growing day by day; utilization of the spectrum is one of the prime challenges. Cognitive radio is the new era of wireless communication and acts as an immerging solution to the problem. It senses, analyzes and, allocates the vacant frequency band to secondary users (cognitive Radios). Energy detection (E.D.) has been accepted as the most suitable spectrum sensing technique due to its lower complexity, simplicity and majorly because of its blind detection.  But the performance of the E.D. is limited by low SNR,  shadowing, and multipath fading, so there is a tradeoff between complexity and performance in this conventional Energy detection technique. In this paper improved version of E.D. –Improved Energy Detection (IED)is used as a significant method for the case of cooperative sensing scenario. The proposed framework is also analyzed and compared for the case of different SNR and decision fusion rules. The Simulation result shows that the proposed framework gives excellent performance compared to conventional energy detection (CED) technique with lower complexity which meets the real-time requirement of cooperative spectrum sensing in wireless communication

    Microstrip Patch Antenna for MIMO based WLAN Application: A Review

    In today’s life, wireless communication is an emerging means of data transmission. The application such as mobile, satellite, government as well as commercial required low profile, high performance with minimum cost antenna. The antenna is the intermediate between the device and the people for the data transmission and reception process. The data might be available in any form i.e., audio, video, or image form. Mobile broadcasting of LTE digital stream is directly related to new 4G developments. Taking a 3G network for analysis, one can find that its data transfer rate is 11 times lower than 5G. Nevertheless, the speed of both receiving and broadcasting LTE data is often of poor quality. This is due to a lack of power or signal strength that the 5G LTE modem receives from the station. 5G MIMO antennas are being introduced to significantly improve the quality of information distribution. MIMO is the distribution of several streams of information at once through just one channel, followed by their passage through a pair or more antennas before reaching independent receiving devices for broadcasting radio waves. Presently, the use of wireless communication is increasing very rapidly in human’s day to day life as well as in any industry. The applications such as Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, WIMAX and ISM are the few applications, which are the foremost need of any electronic system operated by radio means. The antenna developers aim to design a compact, low profile, low-cost high-performance antenna.     Intention to use mobile wallet by youths in northeast India

    This study aims to understand the implication of established variables/factors on intention to use mobile wallet by youths, especially in the North-Eastern Part of India. The factors are identified through the literature review. A questionnaire with elements from established scales which were then customized for the study was used to collect data (Received valid 119 samples). Partial Least Square based Structural Equation Modelling through SmartPLS v3.0 was used to understand the effect of factors on the use intention and on the validity and reliability of the constructs used in the model. The study revealed that use intention is significantly influenced by attitude towards the mobile wallet, perceived security, and perceived usefulness. Whereas the attitude towards the mobile wallet is significantly influenced by facilitating conditions and perceived compatibility. Social influence and promotions were also found to influence use intention of the mobile wallet
