    Co-Simulation of IBC Type PFC Converter with Fuzzy Logic Controller

    Many electronic power systems use bridge rectifiers, which are nonlinear, resulting in low power factor activity and high harmonic distortion due to the existence of nonlinear devices. To conform to harmonic standard requirements, longer device lifetime, and smooth operation of other devices in the system, power factor correction is required in these devices. The proposed system with an input power supply linked to a bridge rectifier which transforms ac to dc in this analysis, which is then linked to an Interleaved Boost Converter (IBC) with two parallel boost converters. The Interleaved Boost Converter uses Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor (MOSFET) to work with the switches. The proportional controller gain has the effect of minimizing the time of increase and does not remove the error of steady-state. The result of removing the steady-state error is an integral control gain but deteriorate the transient response. The fuzzy controller takes inputs from the actual signals feedback values. Using the membership functions in the fuzzification method, the data provided to the fuzzy system is transformed into linguistic variables. To evaluate the performance, a series of rules that mimic the decision-making process of the human expert running the machine is then implemented using such inference mechanisms. Finally, a defuzzification block that transforms the output to a crisp value in such a manner that both structures are consistent. The proposed method is implemented using the software of MATLAB/Simulink and PSIM. The co-simulation result shows that the power factor achieved here is 0.9988, the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) maintained is less than 5% and the average efficiency concluded here is 98% respectively. To verify the feasibility of the proposed scheme, a prototype model of a 5kW IBC type PFC converter is developed which is converting 230V AC input voltage to 400V DC output voltage, is implemented using a Microchip IC dsPIC33FJ16GS504. The experimental results are satisfactory, which uncover that a power factor is 0.9992 (close to unity), THD is 4.11; less than 5% and 98% overall efficiency at 100 kHz switching frequency, 230Vrms input voltage. With the higher performance, as a result, topology with high switching frequency makes a more compact, but costlier converter

    Analysis of High Rise Building with Dual Systems

    The dangerous natural hazards earthquake is the one which, cause great damage of the building and livelihood as well. The ground motion and structure behavior itself are the characters on which response of the structure depends during earthquake. In medium to high rise structures situated in earthquake prone area coupled shear walls are one of the systems commonly used to resist lateral forces. ETAB stands for extended version three dimensional analysis of building. Commonly Skyscrapers, parking garages, steel and concrete structures, high rise structures, portal frame structures with coupled shear wall are modelled using ETAB software. The study in this paper mainly emphasizes on structural behaviour of multi-storey building of regular shape with combination of coupled shear wall and bracings. Lateral load analysis for the following type of structures such as regular model, mass reduction model and soft storey models with coupled shear wall is done. Different storey height such a s 30, 40 and 50 storey heights is considered. The above analysis is done using ETABS. Parameters such as axial force, shear force, bending moment and seismic response of regular model, soft storey model, mass reduction model, V bracing model and X bracing model for 30, 40 and 50 storey structures are studied. Axial force increase with increase in storey height. Soft storey and mass reduction models possess less axial force compared to regular model. Regular model is stiffer than other two models. V bracing model were effective in reducing the bending moment and axial forces in columns. Storey displacementswere within permissible limits

    Application of Innovative Cost effective flow resistivity measurement system for Acoustic Performance Analysis of Natural fibers

    In design of the interior of car, workplace and companies, acoustic material plays very important role. To attenuate unwanted noise, passive noise control technique using acoustic material is used extensively. The non-biodegradable synthetic acoustic material, which are used nowadays cause environmental pollution. This environmental pollution motivates researchers to find eco-friendly and sustainable acoustic materials as an alternative sound absorber. Research is going on to find new acoustic materials for many industrial and domestic applications. The value of sound absorption coefficient has correlation with frequency of sound. Hence, it would be very helpful if the characteristic acoustic properties of these materials are known prior using them for a particular application. This paper presents the utilization of new flow resistivity measurement set up. This flow resistivity set up is developed as per ASTM C522-03 standard. Delany-Bazley model can be used to predict sound absorption coefficient using flow resistivity values. The numerical analysis using MATLAB program based on Delany-Bazley models is made to determine sound absorption coefficient of material prepared from natural fibers of sugarcane waste, wheat straw and PU foam, Glass wool. The sound absorption coefficients of all four materials are also obtained by experimental investigation using impedance tube as per ASTM E 1050 standard. Comparisons of the experimental and the numerical results confirm that the sound absorption coefficients of all material are well corroborated

    Mathematical models for performance of concrete by replacing natural sand with stone dust

    This study is carried out to evaluate the performance of concrete by replacing natural sand with granite stone dust. Compressive strength of concrete was observed by replacing natural sand with granite stone dust in ratio of 20%, 40% and 100% for a constant W/C of   0.45 and a slump of 100 ±20 mm to have pump able properties in concrete. A total of four concrete mixes MS-1, MS-2, MS-3 (with 20%, 40% and 100% replacement of natural sand) including a reference mix M-1(having 100% natural fine aggregate) with a design mix ratio of 1:1.76:2.28 as per IS 10262,   were casted. Mechanical properties of NA and stone dust were studied and different concrete mixes were tested for compressive strength after 7, 28, 90 and 120 days of water curing. Samples of all four mixes were also subjected to different temperature ranges of 2000C, 400˚C, 600˚C and 800˚C for duration of one hour after a curing period of 120 days. A mathematical model was developed to observe the compressive strength for different replacement ratios of sand with stone dust at different age and at different temperature exposures and it was observed that age of concrete has a positive correlation with strength whereas % replacement of sand and temperature has a negative effect on strength

    Agriculture is one of the intense domains across the globe which has greater impact on the development of a country.  There are various tools and techniques developed for the farmers and they are taking advantages of it. Also, the power of artificial intelligence is realized in agriculture field with the application of machine learning and deep learning algorithms. Numerous models have been proposed using the conventional algorithms, but still it is needed to improve the prediction accuracy. Therefore, in the proposed model a hybrid technique is designed by combining the Machine learning, deep learning algorithms and optimization with particle swarm optimization PSO methods to improve the prediction accuracy. In the proposed model, SVM is used as Machine leaning algorithm and RNN-LSTM is used as deep learning algorithm. The crop data sets of Maharashtra for previous years are used as input to the model and prediction will be done for the coming years. The proposed model has potential in improving the yield prediction for various crops like onion, grapes, cotton etc. produced in the Maharashtra State of India

    Is Financial Inclusion Effective in Eradicating Poverty?

    This paper examines the relationship between financial inclusion and poverty in Uganda taking into account the effect of social intermediation and financial literacy. We employed a cross-sectional study design in rural western Uganda among 310 clients of Microfinance. Households of married people were more financially included and hence they were able to reduce their poverty status, Social intermediation was positively linked to financial inclusion, a positive link between financial literacy and financial inclusion was established. Education level and Financial Literacy does not have a significant positive effect on Financial Inclusion and Education interacts with Social Intermediation to positively influence the Financial Inclusion. Policies should emphasize the social aspects in the society to derive financial inclusion and hence tackle poverty. The study contributes to the existing research in the area of financial inclusion and enables future researchers to have a wide research base. The theoretical contribution is that we were able to integrate the theory of human capital in explaining financial inclusion from a developing country perspective

    Face recognition is an important research in computer vision technology. Face recognition is biometric technologies which identify identities from their visual features of face images. There are many challenges to make a face recognition system like light illumination, pose variation, angle of face, distance between face and camera. But Due to COVID-19 one of the biggest challenge is added into the challenge list which is detect and recognize person face with facemask. Here the research is based on a real-time automatic masked and unmasked face recognition system. This is implementing using OpenCV, Haar Cascade and LBPH Algorithm which is able to detect and recognize a single person and multiple(two) person at a time with and without facemask. And also recognize multiple authorized persons when one-person ware facemask and another person didn’t ware facemask
