Design of Lean to Roof Steel Trusses with Hollow Circular tube using IS 875 (part-III):2015 & IS 800:2007
At present, SP-38:1987 is available which provides design for lean to roof type trusses and pitch roof trusses. The design of lean to roof truss has been carried out as per IS 800:1984 IS 875 (Part-III):1964. Afterwards IS 800:1984 is revised in 2007, which is based on limit state method. Also, IS 875 (Part-III) is updated in 1987 and then in 2015 considering climate changes and economical parameters. Accordingly, study has been done to revise the design of trusses given in SP-38:1987. In the present study, design and comparison of lean to roof type truss with steel circular hollow tube section have been carried out using IS 875 (Part-III):2015 and IS 800:2007 limit state method using STAAD Pro. and their results compared with SP-38:1987 results. This study includes lean to roof truss system considering different parameters like span, spacing of truss, slope of roof and wind zones with all cases of wind load. At the end, a compiled report will be prepared, which will be helpful to design engineers to provide economic, easier, faster approach for designing of steel trusses
An Assessment of Land Use Changes Influenced By Urbanization: Implication with Spatial Distribution of Land Using Remote Sensing Technique
Rapid urbanization caused by land-use changes is one of the major concerns provoked by human beings, which has become a tailback to hamper the provincial civilization and economy's defensible development. To establish the root causes subsidized to land poverty, the insinuations will be rendered by altitudinal land distribution using the Geographical Information System (GIS) techniques used as remote sensing. The shift of land use/land cover (LULC) is one of the root causes of the global environmental shift. Over recent years, recognizing the global climate impact of LULC has become a hot-discussed topic around the globe. Many studies have explored the impact of LULC on the regional climate in specific cities, regions, or agricultural areas. However, the fast-urbanized areas that are highly influenced by human activity have the most extreme land-use shifts in developing countries, so their infrastructural effects cannot be overlooked. The results showed that the transition in land use had a growing influence on the sample area's regional temperature, while the impacts on land-use zoning were not so large. In consideration of the development of national land transition, the studies can provide valuable knowledge of urban planning policy. This work uses the Remote Sensing Approach and the spatial distribution implications to analyze land-use transition as influenced by rapid urbanization in Nasik City between 1985 and 2012. Methods / Statistical Analysis: This research focuses on the accessibility evaluation of th e study region using spatial analysis, gravity accessibility test is used to evaluate accessibility along with map digitization in a GIS environment. Transport improvements along with the efficiency of a zoning framework to evaluate the potential of the accessibility test for evaluating the impacts of mobility on land usage. Applications / Improvements: The verdicts referred to the activities of discovery. Realistically showed the connection between land use and sprawl. The current study aims to explain the Spatio- temporal features of urban growth and its consequences for the hydro-meteorological parameters in the Indian state of Maharashtra's Nasik Municipal Corporation (NMC) is considered one of the most important anthropogenic shifts in the environmental system. The paper's empirical approach is based on changes in land use/land cover (LULC) and a standardized built-up difference index (SDBI) based on remote sensing and GIS techniques. Spatiotemporal satellite images and traditional evidence are used to describe the phase of urban growth, while unregulated classification methodology is focused and used to alter LULC. The interpolation method of Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) is used for spatial allocation of land use and study of services. It is noted that in the last decades the overall metropolitan built-up region has risen with variations in depth of groundwater rates on the city's north, northwest, and southwest side. Notably, there have been built-up developments from the north-east to the south-east. There are pieces of evidence of urban sprawl or shrinkage suggesting that the built-up region is increasing and thus creating environmental degradation in the urban area. While the methodology used in the paper has the potential to understand the process of urbanization, the findings have significant implications for designing policies and regulations that are necessary. Such research assists the spatial allocation of land that is affected through automated technologies by rapid urbanization
Performance Based Evaluation of Reinforced Concrete Regular Structures
The response reduction factor is crucial in the seismic analysis and design of new structures. IS 1893:2002,2016 provides certain response reduction factor values for typical buildings based on the kind of moment resistant frame building. This research aims at how to obtain the real value of the response reduction factor for regular frames with varied numbers of stories and to establish a comparative relationship for the response reduction factor between real and IS 1893 values. SAP2000 is used in an analytical method to examine the behavior of five distinct storeyed frames. The results reveal that the values proposed by the Indian code are on the safer side, however the response reduction factor varies as the number of stories changes. Workplace Happiness: Exploring the Factors Shaping Academics’ Subjective Well-being
Workplace happiness plays an indispensable role to improve employees’ well-being as well as the productivity of the organization. Thus, most organizations today are very concerned about issues related to the happiness of their employees and focus on the factors that affect the happiness of employees on the job. This study attempts to explore the factors which determine the work happiness of academics. A self-administered questionnaire was developed and circulated to academics at four private universities in Sylhet City, Bangladesh. A total of 141 respondents have participated in this study and the workplace happiness of academics was estimated based upon six constructs (Organizational Culture, Remuneration, Job Security Career Advancement, Interpersonal Relationships, The Work itself, Autonomy Feedback). This study used the reliability test of the survey questions together with descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression analysis to measure the impact of variables on happiness at work. The results showed that three of the variables studied (relationships, autonomy and feedback and compensation) had the most significant impact on academic workplace happiness than other constructs. However, this study also revealed the importance of other constructs in shaping academic work happiness. The findings of the study will surely help the private university owners or policymakers as well as the other service industries to better understand the factors influencing employees’ workplace happiness and designing appropriate policies to ensure the subjective well-being of their workers
A Comparative Study of Peroxi-coagulation and Peroxi- photo coagulation Methods for Treatment of Petrochemical RO Reject: Optimization and Kinetic Study
This study elucidates a comparative study of peroxi-coagulation and peroxi- photo -coagulation methods for the reduction of total dissolved solids from petrochemical reverse osmosis (RO) reject. All experiments were done in a batch reactor incorporating an iron anode and a graphite cathode, whereas the solution was also irradiated with UV light during peroxi- photo-coagulation process. Independent parameters such as pH, current density, electrode gap, and electrolysis time were optimized by Central Composite Design of Design Expert Software was applied for peroxi coagulation process and optimum operating conditions obtained. Peroxi- photo-coagulation treatment was performed at the same optimum conditions obtained during peroxi coagulation treatment. The present study reveals that photo peroxi coagulation process was found more efficient than peroxi coagulation process in order to get maximum removal of total dissolved solids from RO reject. Maximum removal of total dissolved solids was attained 63.19% during photo peroxi coagulation treatment and 52.78% during peroxi coagulation treatment at optimum operating conditions. Kinetic study was performed at optimum operating conditions and 2nd order kinetic model was best fitted to describe the removal rate
A Review on the development of 3rd generation advanced-high strength steels (HSS)
Conventional-high strength steels (HSS) are an integral part of the automotive bodies for many years by the automotive industries due to their high strength. The 1st-generation advanced HSS with ferrite in the microstructure provides high strength than the conventional-HSS but failed to give sufficient ductility. The 2nd-generation advanced HSS enhance the ductility of the advanced-HSS. But the presence of more alloying elements cost the 1st- and 2nd-generation advanced-HSS. With the addition of a less amount of alloying elements, the 3rd-generation advanced-HSS gives a better combination of strength and ductility at a low cost. Fuzzy document classification using ontology based approach for term weighting
With the surge in web corpus, document classification is a vital issue in information retrieval. Term weighting increases the accuracy of classification for documents represented in the vector space model. This paper proposes an ontoTf-idf term weighting method based on the assessment of semantic similarity between the group label and the term. In this paper, a comparative analysis of the performance of the traditional Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (Tf-idf) method and ontoTf-idf method is carried on the WebKB and Reuters-21578 benchmark datasets. The efficiency of ontoTf-idf method is validated with kNN (k nearest neighbor) and Fuzzy kNN classifier on the WebKB and Reuters-21578 datasets. The experimental results obtained with the proposed ontoTf-idf method outperform the Tf-idf method. In the proposed work, distance metrics like Euclidean distance, Cosine similarity, Manhattan distance, and Jaccard co-efficient are applied with Fuzzy kNN classifier on the WebKB and Reuters-21578 dataset

IoT Gateway Security Mechanism for Efficient Network Establishment using Blockchain Implementation
With the progressive growth in the deployment of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, security and protection of the huge volume of IoT data transmission has become a remarkable issue. IoT is basically a type of heterogeneous network composed of several devices and protocols. In this paper, an IoT gateway security mechanism is proposed for efficient IoT network establishment using blockchain technology as a most effective and potential security technique on the basis of hit rate, total system hit rate and average response time of the network. A low powered device through IoT gateway is simulated that is decentralized and employed with blockchain implementation. Proposed model carries a series of IoT devices that wirelessly communicate with each other. A server-client model is applied to each IoT device to communicate for application process. The simulated results show the significance of blockchain technology as compared to centralized network. This work can bring many significant applications in industrial process and business
