In Indonesia, the prevalence of smokers aged 1018 years increased from 7.2% (2013) to 9.1% (2018), making it the third country with the number of smokers the most. Global Youth Tobacco Survey data (2019) shows that 40.6% of students aged 13-15 years Once use tobacco, with 19.2% at the moment smoking. Body Mass Index (BMI) is used To evaluate relative weight to height. Based on Riskesdas 2018, in Indonesia 9.3% are underweight, 55.3% are typical, 13.6% are overweight, and 25.8% are obese. Research purposes: To determine the impact of the number of cigarettes, duration of smoking, and BMI of students of the Faculty of Agriculture, Indonesian Methodist University, Medan based on the Brinkman index on students of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Indonesia in 2024. Research methods: This is a study of observational analytics with a design study using a cross-sectional study. Research results: This study was primarily found in students consuming several cigarettes with <9 cigarettes/day, as many as 37 respondents (46.3%), then the duration of smoking was found in 51 respondents (63.7%) with a duration of smoking <10 years and Body Mass Index was found 28 respondents (35%) with a body mass index <18.5. There is a relationship between the number of cigarettes and Body Mass Index with a value of p = 0.045 (p0.05) and a relationship between the duration of smoking smoke and Index Mass Body with a p-value of 0.001 (p0.05). The factor with a more significant influence is the number of cigarette consumption with p-value = 0.013 and OR = 2.4. Conclusion: There is a meaningful relationship between the number of cigarettes and the index mass body with a p-value = 0.045, and there is a long relationship between smoking and Body Mass Index with a p-value of 0.00

The study aimed to investigate the effects of pagoda flower extract (Clerodendrum paniculatum L) on reducing cholesterol levels and histopathological features of the liver of obese rats. This study used 24 white rats (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strain into 4 groups, namely Control, Treatment 1, Treatment 2, and Treatment 3, with different doses. The results of the phytochemical test of pagoda flower extract contained secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. This study was conducted with an initial stage of testing a high-fat diet for 14 days. The results showed that the rats got a Lee index value of 0.31 in treatment groups 1, 2, and 3. The study demonstrated that pagoda flower extract significantly reduced cholesterol levels and improved liver histopathology in obese rats, particularly at 150 mg/kg and 200 mg/kg. Microscopic images of the liver of mice in treatment group 3 given a dose of 200 mg/kg bb extract looked normal, no inflammation was seen, cells began to improve, and no necrosis and fatty deposits were seen. Data analysis using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test The results of each group's data were normally distributed

The results of the phytochemical test of pagoda flower extract contained alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. This study was conducted with an initial stage of testing a high-fat diet for 14 days. The results showed that the rats obtained a Lee index value of 0.31 in treatment groups 1, 2, and 3. Based on the results obtained, there was a decrease in total cholesterol levels in rats. The group was given pagoda flower extract with a dose of 150 mg/kgbband 200 mg/kg bb no longer experienced high cholesterol levels because their cholesterol levels were <54mg/dl. Microscopic images of the liver of rats in group P3 with rats given a dose of 200 mg/kgbbpagoda flower extract looked normal, with no inflammation, necrosis, or fatty deposits. Data analysis using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test The data results for each group were usually distributed

Tace To The Rescue: A Systematic Literature Review of Its Role in Battling Various Liver Metastases

    No full text
Liver metastasis, commonly originating from primary tumors such as colorectal, gastrointestinal, breast, and neuroendocrine malignancies, poses a significant treatment challenge. Patients with unresectable liver metastases are increasingly receiving transarterial chemotherapy (TACE) as a locoregional treatment. This systematic review evaluates the clinical outcomes, safety, and effectiveness of TACE in treating liver metastases across various cancer types. A systematic search of PubMed, PMC, and the Cochrane Library from January 2019 to December 2024 identified 848 articles. After removing 559 duplicates and excluding 167 abstracts, 122 full-text articles were assessed for eligibility. Exclusions included 30 case reports, 1 animal study, 3 nonEnglish articles, 10 systematic reviews or meta-analyses, 2 pictorial reviews, 32 articles without available full text, 13 with no reported outcomes, and 2 retracted articles. The final analysis included 29 trials with 3,652 participants. Eight studies provided comparative data, while the rest were retrospective. The data suggest that TACE offers promising tumor control and may improve survival, but its effectiveness is influenced by factors like tumor burden, vascularization, and the underlying malignancy. Differences in treatment protocols, including chemotherapeutic agents and embolization materials, also affect outcomes. While TACE is generally well-tolerated, adverse effects such as liver function impairment and post-embolization syndrome have been observed. The review emphasizes the need for more randomized controlled trials and standardized treatment guidelines to better define TACE’s role in managing liver metastases
