Survival Outcomes in Invasive Candidiasis: Exploring the Role of Chronic Disease Prevention and Healthy Lifestyle in Malaysia
Invasive candidiasis (IC) is a life-threatening fungal infection, particularly prevalent among patients with non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The rising incidence of NCDs in Malaysia poses a significant challenge to IC management and patient survival. Objective of this study was to determine the median survival time of IC patients in Malaysia and explore the relationship between survival outcomes, chronic disease prevention.
This retrospective cohort study analyzed data from 445 patients diagnosed with IC at a tertiary hospital in Malaysia. Data on sociodemographics, comorbidities, clinical presentation, Candida species, treatment and patients outcome were collected and analysed using Kaplan-Meier survival estimates.
The median survival time for IC patients was 21 days, with significant variations based on age, ethnicity, and comorbidities. Patients with diabetes on insulin therapy exhibited a lower mortality risk, likely due to better glycemic control and higher health-seeking behavior. Candida parapsilosis infections were associated with higher survival rates, while Candida glabrata and Candida tropicalis infections were linked to poorer outcomes. These findings highlight the importance of tailored treatment strategies that consider patient comorbidities and the specific Candida species involved. Integrating preventive measures for NCDs and promoting healthy lifestyle practices are crucial for improving IC patient surviva
Brides' Knowledge About Contraception In Preparation For Pregnancy
Pregnancy is the period from conception to the birth of the baby, usually the normal length of pregnancy is 280 days or about 40 weeks / 9 months 7 days, therefore it is necessary to prepare for pregnancy for the mother-to-be. Low pregnancy preparation can result in pregnancy with complications, pregnancy with complications can increase morbidity and mortality for the mother and fetus. The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) in 2020 also stated that the percentage of unwanted pregnancies in Indonesia in 2020 reached 17.5%, this occurred due to a lack of preparation before pregnancy and became one of the conditions that contributed to the Maternal Mortality Rate, recorded in 2020 which was 305 per 100,000 live births. The purpose of this literature is to find out how much knowledge the bride-to-be has about pregnancy preparation, especially knowledge about contraception. The search method is through Google Scholar and through a database in the form of PubMed, science direct, with inclusion criteria for publication years 2019 to 2024, discussing the knowledge of prospective brides about contraception and pregnancy, speaking Indonesian or foreign languages and using original research. Out of a total of 1,180 articles, 10 articles were selected to be used for scoping reviews. Each article from a different country discusses the knowledge of brides-to-be regarding contraception, it can be concluded that the level of knowledge of brides-to-be regarding contraception gets a good category, even though the research is conducted in different countries

Evaluation Of Midwives' Compliance In Implementing The Principles Of Respectful Maternity Care In Antenatal Care Services At Community Health Centers
This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the level of midwives' compliance in implementing Respectful Maternity Care (RMC) principles in antenatal care (ANC) services at community health centers (Puskesmas), through a systematic and structured literature review approach. The literature search was conducted methodologically by utilizing three main, credible and broad-based scientific databases: Google Scholar, PubMed, and Publish or Perish. The search strategy was formulated using a combination of keywords in Indonesian and English, such as: "Respectful Maternity Care," "Midwives Compliance," "Antenatal Care," "Midwives Compliance," and "Respective Maternity Care," with publication restrictions for the period 2021 to 2025 to ensure data up-to-dateness. Of the 99 articles identified in the initial process, a strict selection stage was carried out based on inclusion criteria, namely articles with full-text access that specifically discussed midwives' compliance in implementing RMC principles in ANC services at the primary care level such as community health centers. This selection yielded five eligible and relevant articles for in-depth analysis. The analysis showed that the implementation of RMC principles, including empathetic and effective communication, protection of patient privacy and dignity, and transparent and understandable information delivery, significantly contributed to increased maternal satisfaction and encouraged their adherence to ANC procedures. Furthermore, structured training for health workers, particularly midwives, significantly improved the quality of RMC principles in the field. Therefore, it is recommended that regular evaluations of ANC service practices and the development of standardized, ongoing training programs be implemented. These efforts are crucial to ensure the delivery of antenatal care services based on professional ethics, upholding humanitarian values, and placing women at the center of attention in the maternal health care system
The Relationship between Adherence to Antihypertensive Medication and Microalbumin Levels in Hypertension Prolanis Patients
Hypertension is one of the main health problems faced by people throughout the world, including in Indonesia. Uncontrolled hypertension can cause various complications such as heart disease, stroke and kidney damage. Microalbuminuria, namely the presence of small amounts of albumin in the urine, is an early indicator of kidney damage. In hypertensive patients, microalbuminuria can be an early sign of hypertensive nephropathy, which is a serious complication of high blood pressure. Compliance with taking medication affects blood pressure control. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between adherence to antihypertensive medication and microalbumin levels in hypertension prolanis patients. This research is observational analytic with a cross sectional approach. Data was obtained prospectively in the period July-August 2024 with a sample size of 33 respondents. Medication adherence was taken using a questionnaire, and data on microalbuminuria levels was obtained through medical record data. Next, the results were subjected to a chi-square statistical correlation test. Microalbumin levels and medication adherence blood pressure lowering medication, obtained a value of p = 0.0 (p < 0.05) which indicates that statistically there is a significant relationship between microalbumin levels and compliance of taking blood pressure lowering medication. The frequency distribution of hypertensive sufferers with high microalbumin levels, namely ≥ 30 mg/dL, shows a result of 51.6% (17 patients)
Representation of Character Education Values in the Film Home Sweet Loan and Its Implications for Indonesian Language Learning
This study aims to examine the representation of character education values in the film Home Sweet Loan and its implications for teaching Indonesian language in secondary schools. As a form of modern literature, film has the potential not only to serve as entertainment but also as an educational medium that conveys moral messages and life values. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation and note-taking of scenes, dialogues, and character interactions in the film. The collected data were then analyzed through the stages of reduction, classification based on categories of character values, interpretation of dialogue context, and conclusion drawing to identify dominant value patterns. The findings reveal 11 data excerpts that represent five main character education values, namely responsibility, honesty, self-awareness, justice, and family communication. These values are reflected through the dialogues and actions of the main character, particularly in facing economic pressures, patriarchal cultural dominance, and adolescent identity crises. The results indicate that Home Sweet Loan is not only relevant as a reflection of the social reality of today’s youth but also effective as a teaching medium in Indonesian language learning that integrates cognitive, affective, and moral aspects of students. This study is expected to enrich the literature on character education through a contextual, film-based approach and provide alternative learning media that are engaging and meaningful for students
Analysis of Speech Acts of Ustadz Adi Hidayat's Lecture on Success and Happiness: A Study of Locutionary, Illocutionary, and Perlocutionary Acts
This study aims to analyze the forms of speech acts in Ustadz Adi Hidayat's lecture entitled "The Key to Success and Happiness", with a pragmatic approach through the theory of speech acts developed by J.L. Austin and John Searle. Austin's theory classifies speech acts into three types, namely locution, illocution, and perlocution, which are then further elaborated by Searle into five illocutionary categories: assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with content analysis techniques on video transcripts of lectures. The results of the study showed that locutionary acts were used to convey literal information about Islamic values. Illocutionary acts were found in the form of assertive (affirmation), directive (advice and command), expressive (expression of emotion and belief), and interrogative (rhetorical questions). Meanwhile, perlocutionary acts successfully formed psychological and spiritual effects on listeners, such as religious awareness, increased motivation for worship, and a more transcendental orientation to life. These findings confirmed that religious lectures contained rhetorical and pragmatic power that had a significant impact on the audience. This study contributes to enriching the study of pragmatics, especially in the context of Islamic preaching communication
