Integration Of Customary Legal Values And Modern Mediation In The Framework Of Land Dispute Resolution

    No full text
This study delves into the integration of customary law values with modern mediation in resolving land disputes in Indonesia, often marked by tensions between individual and communal interests as well as between customary law and national law. Employing a normative legal research methodology, this investigation explores relevant regulations, including the Basic Agrarian Law (UUPA) and the Law on Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution, to understand how to harmonize the principles of customary law and mediation without undermining the supremacy of law at the national level. The research identifies two core issues: how distributive and procedural justice can be realized through this integration. Findings indicate that formal recognition of customary mediation outcomes and a comprehensive regulatory framework are crucial for establishing a fair and effective dispute resolution mechanism. This study advocates for the development of regulations that celebrate legal diversity, positioning land dispute resolution as a process that interweaves human values with local wisdom while simultaneously reinforcing the legitimacy of customary law within the national legal framework

    No full text
Implementing nursing care SOP in the inpatient room is essential in achieving a superior and quality hospital. The service's success can be the basis for developing a health strategy depending on the participation of nurses to increase compliance because, until now, nursing care has been provided in the presence of nurses, especially in patient management (patient admission SOP). This study aimed to determine the relationship between nurse compliance in implementing patient admission SOPs and nurse performance in the inpatient room of RSU DR. GL Tanjung Morawa Medan. This research method uses descriptive correlation and a cross-sectional design—data collection through questionnaires. The population is 30 people. The sampling technique is Total Sampling. The data analysis used is Univariate and Bivariate, obtained in the frequency distribution table, and Bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that most nurses complied with implementing SOPs as much as 66.7%, and the majority of nurse performance was classified as 50%. The chi-square test results showed a p-value of 0.02; there was a significant relationship between nurse compliance in implementing patient admission SOPs and nurse performance in the inpatient room of DR. GL Tobing Tanjung Morawa Hospital

The Impact of Educational Videos and Leaflets on the Use of PPE Among Welding Workshop Employees

    No full text
Welding workers are vulnerable to various accident risks, such as electric shock, fire, and explosion, which can result in serious injury and even death. One of the main causes of work accidents is failure to use personal protective equipment (PPE). This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of video and leaflet-based counseling methods in improving knowledge, attitudes, and actions related to the use of PPE among welding workshop workers. A quasi-experimental study with a non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design was conducted in Tanjung Gusta Village, Medan, involving 36 welding workshop workers who were divided into intervention (video) and control (leaflet) groups. The results showed that both extension methods significantly improved workers' knowledge, attitude, and action scores (p<0.05). However, video counseling showed a greater advantage, with a higher mean score increase and a significantly higher N-Gain value (61.8) compared to leaflet (43.3) (p<0.001). Mann-Whitney analysis confirmed that the intervention group using the video showed a significant increase in mean knowledge, attitude and action scores compared to the control group. This study concludes that video education is more effective than leaflets in improving PPE use among welding workshop workers. Integration of video-based education into occupational health programs is recommended to improve worker safety behavior

Leadership for Sustainable Economic Growth: Integrating AI, Policy, and Global Collaboration

    No full text
Leadership in sustainability within the field of economics requires the ability to guide policies and strategies that prioritize environmental health, social equity, and long-term economic viability. This paper presents a framework for leadership that integrates the principles of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in identifying sustainability opportunities. Effective leaders must balance economic activities with their impacts on the environment and society, promote economic diversification, and advocate for sustainable practices through policy and regulation. The research employs an Integral Research methodology, combining descriptive, narrative, theoretical, experimental, and survey methods to explore leadership in sustainability. This approach considers the symbolic "four worlds"—South (nature and community), East (culture and spirituality), North (reason), and West (enterprise and structure)—which influence the values and behaviours of societies, organizations, and individuals. Key elements of the proposed leadership framework include vision and strategy, innovation and adaptation, ethical decision-making, policy regulation, education and awareness, measurement and accountability, and crisis management. The framework also emphasizes the importance of global collaboration, such as the Paris Agreement, and the need for leaders to build resilient economic systems capable of adapting to climate change. Leadership in sustainability issues in economics should align economic growth with environmental stewardship. This can be achieved by strengthening policy frameworks, fostering transformational leadership, integrating ESG criteria, enhancing stakeholder engagement, promoting innovation, encouraging global collaboration, implementing transparent monitoring systems, and fostering consumer awareness for sustainable products

Teachers’ Challenges in Teaching Reading to Students with Low English Proficiency at Telkom Schools Medan

    No full text
This study examines the difficulties faced by English teachers at Telkom Schools Medan when instructing reading to students who don't speak the language well. Using a qualitative case study methodology, information was gathered via document analysis, classroom observations, and interviews. Limited student vocabulary, poor comprehension of narrative text structure, inference difficulties, low motivation, and a lack of instructional resources are the five main issues identified by the findings. These issues make it difficult for teachers to provide effective instruction and impair students' reading comprehension. Teachers employ techniques like scaffolding, differentiated instruction, and the use of multimodal materials in spite of the obstacles. However, the lack of institutional support frequently limits their efforts. In order to promote reading development in EFL contexts, the study emphasises the necessity of enhanced teacher preparation, enriched learning materials, and greater institutional cooperation

    No full text
This study discusses the analysis of cost efficiency in relation to revenue in the oil palm cultivation business at PTPN IV Pabatu Plantation, located in Tebing Tinggi District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra Province. The analysis was conducted for the period from January to December in the years 2021, 2022, and 2023. The study uses secondary data in the form of the Budget Plan (RAB) and actual cost realization and applies the Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) method as a tool to evaluate operational efficiency. This method is used to assess whether the operational expenses incurred are proportional to the revenue generated. The research was conducted in December 2024. The results show a BCR value of 3.21 in 2021, 2.86 in 2022, and 2.22 in 2023. Although the BCR values show a declining trend over the three-year period, all values remain above 1, indicating that the plantation operations are still efficient. Therefore, it can be concluded that cost management at PTPN IV Pabatu Plantation during this period continued to produce positive outcomes in terms of revenue. &nbsp
