The association between workload and occupational stress levels among nurses at the Medan Tuntungan Community Health Center
Nurses, as frontline healthcare providers, are highly susceptible to occupational stress stemming from excessive workloads.1 In Indonesia, suboptimal nurse-to-population ratios exacerbate this, leading to high stress levels (65% moderate/severe) and increased turnover (15–20%). Preliminary observations at the Medan Tuntungan Community Health Center (Puskesmas) indicated rising patient visits without corresponding staff increases, resulting in high perceived workloads and stress symptoms. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between workload and the incidence of occupational stress among nurses at the Medan Tuntungan Community Health Center. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was employed in August 2025. A total sampling (census) technique was used, including all 30 nurses at the facility. Data were collected via a structured online questionnaire assessing workload (physical, mental, administrative) and job stress (physical, emotional, behavioral symptoms), categorized on an ordinal scale (Good, Moderate, Poor). Data analysis utilized univariate statistics and bivariate testing with the Chi-Square test or Fisher's Exact Test. Univariate analysis revealed that 90.0% of nurses perceived their workload as moderate (50.0%) or poor (40.0%). Regarding stress, 43.3% experienced moderate levels, and 30.0% experienced poor (high) levels. The bivariate analysis established a highly significant association between workload and work stress (p < 0.001). A clear positive correlation was observed: 75.0% of nurses with a poor workload reported poor (high) stress, while 100.0% of those with a good workload reported good (low) stress. No significant associations were found for work shift (p = 0.091) or length of service (p = 0.069).Conclusion: Workload is a significant determinant of occupational stress among nurses at the Medan Tuntungan Puskesmas. As workload perception worsens, stress levels increase. These findings underscore the urgent need for institutional interventions focused on effective workload management and staffing optimization to mitigate nurse stress and enhance well-being

The Effect Of Giving Salak Skin Extract (Salacca Zalacca) On Pancreatic Function And Pancreatic Histopathology Of Male Wistar Strain White Rats In Obesity Model
The most important function of the pancreas is to control the quality of blood sugar with the glycogen process. So that the percentage of sugar in the blood is accelerated by its release from the liver. And liver insulin is stimulated to convert glucose into glycogen and stored in cells, thereby reducing the percentage of sugar in the blood. Salak fruit skin extract contains secondary metabolites such as saponins, tannins, alkaloids, flavonoids, and steroids that help repair pancreatic cells damaged by obesity by stopping pancreatic cell apoptosis. Snake fruit skin has the potential to be a diabetes medicine because it has a mixed content. The type of research used is true experimental with post test only control group design. The results of histopathological observations of pancreatic tissue showed significant differences between the treatment and control groups. The treatment group with a dose of 600 mg/kgbb was different from the control group. Based on the results of the normality test, the significance results were 0.200 in all groups. Data is said to be normally distributed if the p value > 0.0
The Effect Of Giving Sambiloto Leaf Extract (Andrographis Paniculatu) On Kidney Function And Kidney Histopathology Of Male Wistar White Rats With Diabetes Mellitus
Diabetes Mellitus is one of the threats to human health. The abnormalities that occur in the kidneys of people with diabetes mellitus begin with the presence of microalbuminuria. Microalbuminuria is generally defined as albumin excretion of more than 30 mg per day and is considered important for the onset of diabetic nephropathy which if uncontrolled will then develop into clinical proteinuria and end in kidney failure. This study aims to prove the effect of leaf extract (Andrographis paniculata) on kidney function and histopathology of the kidneys of male Wistar rats with diabetes mellitus. This study is an experimental study using a pre-post test control group design. In this study, 24 male Wistar rats were used as samples which were divided into 6 groups and 4 rats for each group. The results of the study showed that administration of leaf extract (Andrographis paniculata) at a dose of 600 mg/KgBW was effective in significantly improving kidney function in white rats (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strain with diabetes mellitus. This improvement can be seen through the levels of urea, creatinine, and histological structure of the kidneys that have improved. Leaf extract (Andrographis paniculata) contains secondary metabolites in the form of saponins, tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids, and steroids that help repair kidney cells that experience fatty deposits and decreased kidney function due to diabetes mellitus. Given its antihyperglycemic and anti-inflammatory properties, Andrographis paniculata functions as a protective agent for kidney health in patients with diabetes mellitus
