Suicide Ideation Prevention Among University Students Through the Workshop: "I’ve Given Up!! What Should I Do??"
WHO notes that Indonesia ranks eighth among ASEAN countries with high suicide rates. Increased suicidal ideation among students is a serious issue that requires immediate action. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the "I have Grown Up! What Should I Do?" workshop in reducing the level of suicidal ideation in college students. The study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The research subjects consisted of 75 students in Surabaya, selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using the survey method with instruments Revised-Suicide Ideation Scale (R-SIS). Data analysis was conducted using a paired sample t-test. The analysis showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. This finding proves that the workshop "I have Grown Up! What Should I Do?" workshop is effective in reducing the tendency of suicidal ideation in college students.
Current Trends and Future Directions of Big Data in Commerce: A Bibliometric Analysis Based on Scopus
Big data provides significant benefits across various sectors, including commerce. However, there remained a gap in bibliometric studies examining big data within the context of commerce, leaving research development in this field unclear. This study aimed to address this gap by conducting a bibliometric investigation into researchers' contributions to big data in commerce, including their affiliations and countries of origin. Additionally, the study sought to identify the most productive journals and highlight relevant and under-researched topics within this field. A bibliometric analysis approach was employed, analyzing 396 Scopus-indexed documents and using VOSviewer visualization to identify major recurring issues in the literature. The findings revealed that in 2021, the number of publications on big data in commerce peaked at 97 documents. Maalla, A., from Guangzhou College of Technology and Business, China, emerged as the most prolific author, while China led in publication output with 308 documents. The Journal of Physics Conference Series was identified as the most productive source. Computer Science was the most explored discipline, indicating a strong integration of technology with commerce. Keyword analysis divided research focus into four main clusters: analytical technology, platform optimization, supply chain management, and marketing strategy optimization. These findings provide a foundation for future research to explore areas such as Customer Experience Management, Blockchain Technology, Cloud Computing, Predictive Analytics, and Customer Segmentation, thereby enriching the academic literature and offering practical contributions to data-driven commerce
Medicinal potential of gambier extract for recurrent aphthous stomatitis treatment
Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) remains as one of the most common disorders in the oral cavity. Various treatment options for RAS conditions include topical, systemic, and the use of traditional ingredients that have pharmacological content. One of the plants known to have good pharmacological content for RAS treatment is gambier (Uncaria Gambier). Gambir plant extract is known to have various benefits for health, including in the management of RAS due to the active ingredient compounds in the form of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial properties. One of the active compounds possessed by gambier plant extract in the form of catechine is proven to have the ability to reduce inflammation and help to accelerate the healing process in RAS cases
Effectiveness of platelet rich plasma injection for achilles tendon injury in wistar rats: An experimental study
Tendon injuries, particularly Achilles tendon ruptures, significantly impact athletes and labourers, affecting daily activities and quality of life. The platelet plasma rich (PRP) injections have emerged as a treatment option due to their abilities in stimulating growth factors, essential for the healing processes. This study investigates the effectiveness of PRP injections in healing Achilles tendon injuries in Wistar rats. Thirty male Wistar rats were divided into three groups: Group 1 received a 100 µL PRP injection, Group 2 received a 50 µL PRP injection, and Group 3 received a 100 µL NaCl injection as a control. The Achilles tendons were surgically transacted and sutured using modified Kessler method, followed by PRP or NaCl injections. Rats were euthanized on days 15 and 30 for histological and biomechanical evaluations. This study found that PRP administration had a significant effect on histological tendon healing on the 15th and 30th, with the best improvement at a PRP dose of 100 µL, especially in the early phase of healing. PRP also had a significant effect on tendon healing in terms of biomechanical function on the 15th and 30th days, with the best improvement at a PRP dose of 100 µL, especially in the final phase of healing. This study provides detailed biomechanical and histological insights into the tendon healing process, which may be challenging to obtain in human studies due to ethical and logistical constraints. The PRP injection improves healing in the Achilles tendon rupture in Wistar rats
Incidental detection of achalasia in a patient with dyspnea
Background: The absence of progressive peristalsis in the esophageal body and aberrant relaxation of the LES are two characteristics of achalasia, which is a main motility disease of the esophageal body and lower esophageal sphincter (LES). The most typical signs of achalasia are dysphagia and recurrent regurgitation.
Case report: We report a case of achalasia in a 54-year-old woman with the main complaint of dyspnea. Physical examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Chest x-ray results showed an enlarged upper mediastinal with air fluid level and superposition with the right border of the heart. The results of a chest computed tomography (CT) scan showed a dilated esophagus containing food material with air fluid levels. The patient then underwent an esophagostomy thoracotomy.
Discussion: Primary achalasia is associated with inflammatory degeneration of the inhibitory ganglion cells of the esophageal myenteric plexus and LES. Dysphagia, regurgitation, problems swallowing food, chest pain, heartburn, and weight loss are the most common symptoms. Barium esophagram is the best diagnostic test for achalasia with "Rat Tail" or “bird’s beak” appearance. CT scan examination is not only less invasive and painful, but also has high sensitivity for achalasia. In addition, CT scan are useful for differentiating primary and secondary achalasia and for diagnosing complications of achalasia.
Conclusion: Most cases of achalasia come with dysphagia, but some patients can come with respiratory problems or without complaints. CT scans can help identify achalasia in patients without complaints. Radiological examination plays an important role in detecting achalasia and reducing complications
The Effect of Birthing Ball on the Pain Scale of First Stage of Labor in the Active Phase in the Bukit Sari Health Center Work Area
Labor pain is a feeling and emotional reaction that begins with regular contractions, helping to open the birth canal. It can lead to higher blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing rate. Unmanaged pain can increase worry and anxiety. This research sought to evaluate how a birthing ball influences labor discomfort during the initial active stage. The research design is a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest. The study population includes 45 active phase I maternity mothers. Accidental sampling is used, with a sample size of 28 people. Univariate analysis uses a frequency distribution table, and bivariate analysis uses the Wilcoxon test. Based on the results of the study obtained an average of labor pain in mothers before the intervention, as many as 26 people (92.9%) respondents were in severe pain. After the intervention, the average labor pain of 21 people (75%) of respondents decreased to moderate pain. Based on the test mc near test between pretest and posttest values obtained a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05) so that it can be concluded that there is an influence of birth ball in reducing the pain scale of maternity mothers during the first active phase. The birth ball reduces the pain scale of maternity mothers in the first active phase
Relationship Between Husband's Support And Mother's Compliance In First Trimester Pregnancy Examination In Practicing Midwives Independent Kartika, Timang Gajah District Bener Meriah District
Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is one of the development targets. Efforts to reduce MMR (pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum) need quality Ante Natal Care (ANC) services according to government policy standards, namely at least 4 times during pregnancy, 1 time in the first trimester, 1 time in the second trimester, and 2 times in the third trimester. The husband's support is very much needed in the implementation of pregnant women's compliance in Antenatal Care (ANC) examinations. Being accompanied by a husband in conducting the examination can increase the motivation of pregnant women to check their pregnancy. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between a husband's support and maternal compliance in first-trimester pregnancy check-ups at the Midwife Kartika Clinic, Timang Gajah District, Bener Meriah Regency. This research method is analytically descriptive with a cross-sectional design. Total population of 51 respondents with a total sample of 33 respondents. This research was conducted at the clinic of Kartika midwives from 13 to 18 October 2024. The Chi-Square test result (p-value = 0.004 < 0.05) indicates a significant relationship between the husband's support and maternal compliance in first-trimester pregnancy check-ups at the Midwife Kartika Clinic, Timang Gajah District, Bener Meriah Regency. Mothers who received support from their husbands were 80% more likely to comply with pregnancy check-ups.
