LISTENING MATERIAL IN THE 2013 CURRICULUM ENGLISH TEXTBOOK: WHAT DO THE TEACHERS THINK?
Listening is considered as the basic skill in learning a language. Listening lets students gain input in the form of audio. Due to the 2013 curriculum, schools are provided with English textbook prepared by the government. This textbook is used for the listening input which may affect the output of listening process. Therefore, the researchers are interested in conducting a research related to the weaknesses of the K13 English textbook When English Rings a Bell. The researchers want to know the weaknesses of the listening material in the textbook which can be known from the teachers’ perception. This research used qualitative and quantitative method. The instruments of this research are observation, questionnaire, and interview. The result of the study shows that there are several weaknesses of the listening material existing in the K13 English textbook. These weaknesses may affect to the output of language learning and cannot develop students’ listening skill. Therefore, it is expected that the government would take more attention on the listening material for students to help them better input for listening activity
THE DEFENSE OF ORAL INTERACTION IN THE MIDST OF WHATSAPP USE IN THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
This research aimed to explain the defense of oral interactions in the presence of information and communication technologies such as WhatsApp (WA) as well as to explore some of the positive contributions of WA used in building the Real Life Communication especially in the learning environment. By applying the Exploratory design, this research involved 4 participants from various educational backgrounds as a purposively selected data source indicated as WA users at once. Data were collected through Focus Group Discussion, Interview, and Observation and analyzed by several stages i.e. data reduction, displaying data, categorizing, and verifying and concluding. The results showed that oral interactions can decrease both in the language community and learning environment as the dominant use of WA that is not wise. Nevertheless, the use of WA applications also had some positive contributions in building a real relationship. Finally, the assumption that the negative impact of using the WA application should be able to change the mindset and positive attitude of the scholars in initiating and defending an oral interaction in the learning environment
Effectivity of Manure at Various Dose Added Agrobost to The Growth of Mango Seedlings
One of the efforts to increase mango production in Southeast Sulawesi is to produce high quality and high quantity mango seeds. Manure contains macro and micro nutrients that are important for plant growth and development as well as play a role in maintaining nutrient balance in the soil to improve soil properties. The aim of this study was to obtain the best manure doses applied with agrobost in improving the growth of Arumanis mango seedlings. This research was conducted in Kemaraya Sub-District of West Kendari District, Kendari City. The study design used was a randomized block design (RBD) with 6 treatments, namely: control (T0), 100 g (T1); 150 g (T2); 200 g (T3); 250 g (T4); and 300 g (T5) of manure per polybag. Each treatment was added with agrobost of 17 ml/polybag and replicated 5 times. The variables observed were plant height, stem diameter; number of leaves, and leaf area, at ages 1, 2, and 3 months after planting. The results showed that the manure added agrobost influenced the growth of Arumanis mango seedlings. The manure treatment with a dose of 150 g per polybag (T2) was the best treatment in improving the growth of Arumanis mangoes at 1, 2 and 3 months after planting. This was indicated by the plant height of 28,40; 30,94; and 32,82 cm, stem diameter of 0,44; 0,70; and 0,99 cm; and number of leaves 6,60; 7,20 and 9,00 strands were significantly higher compared to other treatments during the stud
The Quality of Nugget of Broiler Chicken Meat with Addition of Sago Flour (Metroxylon Sp.)
This study aims to determine the quality of broiler chicken nuggets with the addition of sago flour (Metroxylon Sp.) As a binder. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD), with a factorial pattern of 3 x 3 and 3 replications where factor A was broiler chicken meat (A1 = 60%, A2 = 70% and A3 = 80%) and factor B was sago flour (B1 = 30%, B2 = 20% and B3 = 10%). The material used was 4.5 kg of fresh meat broiler chicken and 900 g of sago flour. Based on the results of the study showed that the administration of sago flour as a binder in broiler chicken nuggets dough did not significantly affect (P 0.05) the quality of broiler chicken nuggets. The conclusion of the study showed that the administration of sago flour to the quality of broiler chicken nuggets had no real effec
Performance of Quail with Different Hatch Body Weight by Fasting Treatment Post-hatch
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of broiler quail’s initial body weight which is fastened at post-hatch to growth and attainment the last body weight. One hundred thirty-five quails aged 12 post-hatch had kept in a cage plot which had prepared based on a completely randomized design with 3x3 factorial pattern and three replications which each replication consisted of 5 quails. The first factor is body weight post-hatch (B) consist of B1 = 5.1 – 6.0 g (light), B2 = 6.1 – 7.0 g (medium) and B3 = 7.1 – 8.0 g (heavy), the second factor is the duration of fasting post-hatch (P) consist of P1 = 24 hours, P2 = 36 hours and P3 = 48 hours. The observed parameters to fasting were feed consumption, body weight, and feed conversion. The result of this study is the quail with light early body weight (5.1-6 g) post hatch showed that the lightest last body weight is related to the value of feed conversion. Accession good performance of quail can be reached by access feed approximately 24 hours

Combination of Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4) and Aquadest to Detect Goat Pregnancy
Pregnancy detection is an essential thing to do after cattle are mated. In general, early pregnancy detection is needed regarding identifying animals that are not pregnant immediately after natural mate or artificial mate, so that production time is lost because infertility can be suppressed by proper handling such as livestock must be sold or dialing (cut). It is aimed at reducing costs for breeding, programs and helping livestock management economically. Many methods can be used for pregnancy detection depending on the species, age of pregnancy, cost, accuracy, and speed of diagnosis. The purpose of each method used in pregnancy examinations is to determine the pregnancy status with 100% accuracy, especially in the Watubangga and Toari areas, which breeders are still applying traditional methods, which this detection method can reduce costs, time and effort, especially this detection method relatively cheap and easy to do
DETERMINATION OF SELECTION CRITERIA FOR TOMATO (SOLANUM LYCOPERSICUM L.) YIELD COMPONENT IN THE LOWLAND BASED ON PATH ANALYSIS
The shifting of tomatoes cultivation from upland to lowland led to a significant decrease of tomatoes production, particularly on tomatoes varieties which are not able to adapt to lowland. Genotypes selection based on appropriate selection criteria is the most effective method to obtain tomatoes genotypes with high production in the lowland. The aim of this study was to determine appropriate selection criteria in the lowland based on high heritability value, high phenotype and genotype correlation to production component, and character relationship closeness with production component through path analysis. This study used a randomized block design with three replications. Selection criteria was chosen based on high heritability value, significant correlations in phenotype and genotype and its high direct impact on fruit weight per plant which were the number of fruits per plant and weight per fruit charactersÂ
