Soybean Adaptation to Water Stress on Vegetative and Generative Phases
Soybean is rich in protein and is one of the main sources of vegetable protein which essential in enhancing public nutrition. Climate change is the main trigger of the occurance of extreme weather events makes plants become more vulnerable to drought. Drought stress significantly affect the decline in soybean production, especially when it occurs during the reproductive phase. This research aimed to identify the response of soybean to water stress as a reference for determining the adaptive and tolerant varieties. The research was arranged in split-split plot design, with main plot was varieties (Dering and Argomulyo), the development phase (vegetative and  generative phases) as the subplot, and water stress in the form of irrigation intervals (2, 5, and 10 days) as the sub-sub plots. The results showed that water stress during the vegetative phase has not statistically significant effect on soybean production. Soybean crop adapted  to water stress by reducing the number of leaves, the leaf area, stomatal openings, as well as doing motion response by folding leaves. WHEN ENGLISH RINGS A BELL -2017 REVISED VERSION- IS IT A GOOD BOOK?
Coursebook is seen as a complete package of instructional material for teaching and learning process. It provides a framework for teachers, learning objectives and source of materials for students. In relation to this matter, this study exposed the analysis of English course book namely When English Rings a Bell (2017 Revised Version). The analysis was focused on the content of the course book to see if it matched the newest curriculum applied in Indonesia and can facilitate the English teaching process in grade seven. Checklist method was chosen since it was easier to be developed and more practical to be used. The checklist developed covered the relevance of the materials to the curriculum and syllabus, topic, language skills, supporting learning materials, language, and practical activities
Percentage of Male Peranakan Ettawa Goat Non-Carcass Given Different Local Feed
This study aims to see the percentage of non-carcasses of male Peranakan Ettawa goats as many as six heads fed different local feed, analysis study was using analysis of variance using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and the parameters measured in this study were non-carcass percentage including skin, head, legs, liver, spleen, lung, trachea, heart, testis, omental fat, and tail. The average of noncore rate obtained during P1 (100% mulberry) research was 70,58%, P2 (50% mulberry and 50% Gamal) was 72,25, and P3 (100% Gamal) was 62,305. Based on the analysis of variance, the result showed that different local feeding at 100% level in this study also had no significant effect (P .05) on the increase of non-carcass weight of male Peranakan Ettawa goat
GROWTH AND PRODUCTION OF VARIOUS WHEAT GENOTYPES AT VARIOUS PEG CONCENTRATION IN HYDROPONIC
Wheat is a sub-tropical cereal that can be planted in the tropics, on the highland with altitude 1000 m asl. The development of wheat in the highlands compete with horticultural crops, so the creation of tropical wheat that is adaptive to lowland and drought tolerance is an alternative problem-solving. The aims of this study is to test the generation and to screen three type of mutant that is adaptive in lowland with high temperature. The study was conducted at Tamalanrea Jaya, Tamalanrea regency, Makassar province from May to August 2017. The research was conducted on hydroponic media in the plastic house (green house) at altitude 800 m asl with an average temperature of 28oC (morning) and an average temperature of 33oC (afternoon). The study was used split-plot design with the main plot of polyethylene glycol (PEG), ie 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15%; the plot was 15 wheat genotypes. The results showed that the addition of PEG concentrations at 5%, 10% and 15% decreased the crop yield by 35.91%, 55.63%, and 71.83%. Adaptive and potential genotypes developed in lowland with dry climatic conditions are genotype N.200 2.4.B.6 and genotype N.300 4.3.
TYPES AND FACTORS CAUSING PLAGIARISM IN PAPERS OF ENGLISH EDUCATION STUDENTS
The purpose of this study is to determine the type of plagiarism contained in the student papers on the subject of Introduction to Literature and the factors causing students to do plagiarism. Researchers used descriptive quantitative research methods to answer both research questions. In this study, this type of plagiarism is examined using unpaid online applications and manuals to determine the type of plagiarism based on indicators of government regulation no. 17, 2010. While the factors causing plagiarism obtained through the responses of respondents to a given questionnaire. Population in research is one semester students majoring in English Education. The total population was 50 students and the sample in the study was 44. The results of the study show that type 1 plagiarism is the most dominant type appearing in student papers, followed by plagiarism types 2, 3 and 4. Chapters 1 and 2 in most papers are chapters where the chances of plagiarism occur most often. Then, the factors that cause students to practice plagiarism are: a) lack of understanding how to cite and write references well so not confident in composing academic writing; b) limited access to referrals and c) student attitudes which often delay and hasten in completing tasks
The Influence of Utilization of Sweet Potato Leaves (Ipomoea batatas) as an Eating Feed to Increase the Body Weight on Goat Crossbreed of Ettawa
Sweet potato leaf (Ipomoea Batatas) is a potential agricultural waste is used as animal feed to Goat crossbreed of Ettawa. Sweet potato leaf (Ipomoea Batatas) has a high enough protein content (> 20%), so it can be used as a source of protein goat crossbreed of Ettawa. This research aims to determine the effect of feeding of sweet potato leaves (Ipomoea Batatas) as feed on goat body weight of goat crossbreed of Ettawa. This research has been conducted in February to March 2015, located in Wonua Raya village, Toari district, Kolaka Regency. This research uses 12 goats crossbreed of Ettawa which is divided into 12 plots of cages. In this research, four levels of feeding treatment were applied: regular feed/Gamal leaf (R0), 90% Gamal leaves + 10% sweet potato leaves (R1), 85% Gamal leaves + 15% sweet potato leaves (R2), 80 % Leaf Gamal + 20% sweet potato leaves (R3). The results showed that the use of sweet potato leaves on weighing 15 days did not significantly affect the rate of body weight and had a significant effect on considering at day 30 (
Review the Productivity of Kampung Chicken with Bangkok Chicken on Extensive System Maintenance
This study aims to determine the ratio of productivity of chicken and Bangkok female maintained on an extensive system. A total of 4 female chickens and using four Bangkok females in this study. Keeping chickens from DOC until first production (± seven months). The maintenance system from DOC for up to 2 weeks is intensified using heating aid after two weeks of extensive maintenance. After the production (layer) is done recording (productivity recording) that is egg weight, number of eggs per period, the age of early parent spawn, and weight of mother early spawn as parameter observed in this research. Data result of the analysis is processed using T-test. The result showed that productivity of chicken and Bangkok female saw from the age of fresh parent eggs and weight of initial parent spawn. Chickens earlier lay eggs compared to chicken Bangkok, but the parent weight at the time of spawning is higher in Bangkok female chickens when compared to females
AGRONOMIC CHARACTERS OF WHEAT (TRITICUM AESTIVUM L.) GROWN USING TWO CROPPING SYSTEMS IN MEDIUM LAND OF PALOPO CITY
Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is a staple food for most of world population and has a good prospect considering the great potential of land to be planted with this plant species which contains carbohydrate of 70% and protein of 3%. The development of this commodity was started from agricultural extensification and production increase through the implementation of cropping system. This study was aimed to provide information on suitable cropping system for wheat cultivation and to examine the effect of cropping system on the increase in wheat production in medium land of Palopo City. This study was conducted in farmer land in Kambo Village, Mungkajang Subdistrict of Palopo City, South Sulawesi at elevation of ± 600 m asl from June until September 2017. This research uses two factor factorial in randomized block design. The first factor consisted of two cropping systems, namely line up system (S1) and Hazton system (S2). While, the second factor included two varieties, namely Guri 4 variety (V1) and Guri 6 variety (V2). Study result for vegetative phase showed that the best plant height was obtained using line up cropping system in Guri 4 variety (S1V1) with average of 73.91 cm. Implementation of Hazton cropping system in Guri 4 variety (S2V1) resulted in the best flag leaf area with average of 40.23 cm2. Hazton cropping system implementation in Guri 6 variety (V2S2) indicated the best green color with average value of 11.00 unit. Furthermore, application of line up cropping system (S1) produced the best total tiller number with average of 18.22 tillers. Therefore, it is concluded that the use of Hazton cropping system was able to increase the wheat production and Guri 4 Variety is expected to adapt to grow in the medium land of Palopo Cit
The Role of Customary Leaders on the Decision Making Process in the Ethics of Land Clearing and Harvesting Process in Rice Farmers in Puday Village, Wonggeduku Barat Sub-District, Konawe District
Customary leaders have dominant roles and influences, these facts are shown in the land clearing process (monahundau) and the harvesting process (meolu) of paddy rice crop. These processes begin with the opening ceremony or in the form of a small ritual carried out by customary leader numbering one person called Puusaraormandaranosara. The purpose of this study is to find out how the role of customary leaders in decision-making in the ethics of land clearing and harvesting processes in paddy rice farmers. Analysis of the data used in the form of qualitative descriptive analysis, where the data obtained is then described qualitatively using the Miles and Huberman model which consists of three stages, namely (1) Data Reduction, (2) Data Presentation, (3) Conclusion Drawing / Verification. The results of this study indicated that land clearing (monahundau) and the harvesting process (meolu) were influenced by hereditary customs in Puday Village, Wonggeduku Barat Sub-District, Konawe District. Monahundau is a land clearing process which is the first step to open a new planting season every year. Meoluis a harvesting process that is carried out in the same steps as the process of land clearing (observation, reciting intentions and praying silently for the best wishes desired in the harvesting process), and the final step is done by investigating at the rice fields who first turned yellow (ripe), then the rice fields that will be harvested first, the rice begins to be harvested when there is already a statement then the other farmers' land that has yellowed (ripe) may be harvested by themselves (meoludowo). GENETIC CHARACTERIZATION OF GALOBA DURIAN (AMONUM SPP.) IN AMBON ISLAND BASED ON RANDOM AMPLIFIED POLYMORPHIC DNA (RAPD)
Galoba durian is one of the endemic floras from Maluku. Galoba durian is a species belonging to the Amomum genera Zingiberaceae family. It is also used as a medicinal plant for waist and kidney diseases. Based on the color of the fruit, galoba durian is divided into two nmely red galoba durian and green galoba durian. Distribution of this plant in Ambon can found in a few places such as highland and coastal area. Different locations influence phenotypic of plants, but may not show different genetic characteristic. Genetic diversity can detected by molecular markers. Genetic characterization from galoba durian using RAPD markers has not been done before. This study aimed to analyze genetic diversity from galoba durian using molecular markers RAPD. Samples of plants are used red galoba durian from Hatu and green galoba durian from Hatalae. The result of the first study, characterization of the morphology of the galoba durian, showed that both galoba have almost similar characteristics. Further DNA was tested by qualitative and quantitative. Result shows good qualitative and quantitative of DNA genomic. The second study was amplification by PCR-RAPD. DNA amplifications were performed using 3 primers out of 9 screened random primers. The primers selection was based on hight polymorphism. DNA amplification has 36 bands which were 100% polymorphic. The size of each bands from visualization of agarose was determined by linear regression. Number of band amplified was range from 120 to 1612 bp. Polymorphic band of RAPD showed the highest genetic diversity. It can be concluded that the two plants of galoba durian are different specie
