Use of Old Coconut Water with Various Skim Concentrations of Milk as a Diluent for Kampong Chicken Semen
This study aims to determine the level of skim milk in the best coconut water that can maintain the quality of spermatozoa of native chickens during storage at 5oC. Semen was divided into five tubes (without diluents, diluents with skim milk levels 0%, 6%, 8% and 12, liquid Semen was then stored at 5oC. Observations of motility and viability were carried out at 0, 12, 24 hours, 36, and 48 hours. The results showed that the use of various diluents had a very significant effect (P 0.01) on the motility and viability of chicken spermatozoa at 12 hours of storage. The highest motility of spermatozoa was found in coconut milk diluent treatment with milk level skim 6%, and skim milk level 9% at 0 o'clock, 12 o'clock and 48 o'clock storage, while the highest motility at 24 o'clock and 36 o'clock was at treatment with skim milk level 6% Viability of spermatozoa at 0 o'clock does not differ between treatments but during storage, in general, the viability of spermatozoa can survive better in diluents with skim milk levels of 6% and 9% Conclusion of this study is coconut water Diluent with skim milk level of 6% and 9% can maintain the quality of chicken spermatozoa better during storage 48 hours at a temperature of 5oC
Effect of Adding Feed Fermentation of Sago Pulp on The Palatability of The Peranakan Etawa
The purpose of this research is to know the effect of adding feed fermentation of sago pulp to the palatability level of the breeds of Etawa. In this study used 9 goat cattle PE age 6 months with an average initial body weight of 17 kg. Materials used include sago pulp, probion, bran, urea and molasses. Complete feed prepared from the material is sago pulp 75%, bran 20%, urea 0.25%, molasses 3% and minerals 1.25%. While the probion is added as much as 0.5% of the total feed ingredients. All feed ingredients are mixed and then fermented anaerobic for 21 days. Feeding is done according to the treatment of (100% natural grass + 0% fermented feed, 70% natural grass + 30% fermentation feed, 50% natural grass + 50% fermented feed). The observed variable is palatability. The research draft uses complete random design. Isolation and Identification of Native Mikoriza Morphology on The Rhizosphere Gluta rengas L. in Jompie Botanical Garden
Alitta Forest, located in the city of Parepare, South Sulawesi, has an area of 84 ha, a portion of this forest area is functioned as part of a botanical garden. The jompie botanical garden has an area of 13.5 ha, with a collection of plants reaching 90 species originating from 81 plant clans and as many as 77 species that have been identified. In addition to a collection of high-level plants, jompie botanical gardens also have a diversity of microorganisms that have not been identified, especially microorganisms that symbiosis with plant roots known as mycorrhiza, so the purpose of this study is to identify and identify the abundance of mycorrhizal spores in the jompie botanical garden found in rhizosphere Gluta renghas L.. The research began with taking the rhizosphere under the stands of wet trees in the jompie botanical garden, which was then continued to identify and calculate the abundance of spores in the microbiology laboratory of Makassar's research and development environment and forestry. The Effect Of Parental Education Level Towards Student Biology Learning Achievement
Learning achievement is very important because, through achievement, the success of the teaching and learning process achieved by students can be seen. Learning outcomes and achievements obtained by children can not be separated from the role of parents, ranging from how to accompany while studying to use their knowledge to be transmitted to their children. The level of parental education is closely related to and it influences student learning outcomes and achievement. This study aims to study the effect of parental education on biology student achievement in class XI MIA in the South Konawe Regency. This type of research is correlational The population of this research is the XI MIA grade students of South Konawe District High Schools. The sample of this study was 221 students of class XI MIA. The research instrument used a questionnaire regarding the level of parental past education while learning achievement was obtained through the results of midterm tests of biology subjects. The analysis technique used regression analysis techniques. Based on the analysis results obtained a significant value (Sig.) 0.33 (α) 0.05. It can be concluded that the level of parental education (X) does not have a significant effect on student biology learning achievement (Y).Keywords: Parental Education, Learning Achievemen
Using Vocabulary Journals to Improve Vocabulary Learning among Primary School Pupils in Malaysia
This action research was to investigate the effects of vocabulary journals on Malaysian primary school pupils’vocabulary learning. English language learners (ELLs) are often unable to retain new vocabulary learning. This could be attributed to the fact that the traditional method of vocabulary learning does not appeal to them in terms of engagement and interest. Therefore vocabulary journals were conceived as an interesting and engaging method to improve pupils’ vocabulary learning. The action research design was used which integrated both qualitative and quantitative data (i.e., pupils’ work, semi-structured interview, pre-vocabulary test, and post-vocabulary test). The results show that vocabulary journals helped the participants to learn vocabulary more effectively. It is an effective scaffolding tool for vocabulary learning among the primary school pupils, though the journals could be further improved. Further suggestions were to improve on the questions in interviewing and to use reflective journals to increase the validity of the research
Phenotypic Performance of Kanesia-10 Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) Variety Through the Use of Liquid Organic Fertilizers in Low Land
The program of cotton variety improvement is carried out by increasing the productivity and quality of fiber in order to rise the competitiveness of cotton farming through the production of fiber quality that is in accordance with the demand of export-oriented national textile industry. This study aimed to determine the performance of the Kanesia-10 cotton phenotype cultivated using liquid organic fertilizer in the lowlands and obtain the best concentration of liquid organic fertilizer in improving Kanesia 10 cotton performance. This research was conducted in Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Cokroaminoto Palopo from August to November 2018. The genetic material used was Kanesia 10 cotton variety for its fiber content of 27.2%, production of 2.457,2 kg cotton seed per hectare and fiber uniformity of 83,3-84,6%. This study used a randomized block design consisting of five treatments and four times. The treatment used was control (P0), 50 ml/L POC of gamal leaves (P1), and 100 ml/L of gamal leaves (P2) 150 ml/L POC of gamal leaves (P3), and 200 ml/L POC of gamal leaves (P4), so that there were 20 experimental units. The use of liquid organic fertilizer produces heterogeneous phenotypic performance for the parameters of the number of fruits per plot with a diversity coefficient value reaching 32.93%. The treatment of liquid organic fertilizer with a concentration of 50 ml / L resulted in the performance of plant height, number of leaves, number of fruits per plot, and the best fruit weight per plot with a mean of 64.13 cm, 57.75 strands, 43.00 fruits and 7.60 g, respectivel

The Local Chicken Breeders Levels Knowledge of the Implementation of Newcastle Disease Vaccination in Ulu Mowewe, Indonesia
This research aims to determine the level of knowledge in domestic poultry vaccination Newcastle Disease (ND) in the village of Ulu Mowewe, Mowewe District of Kolaka Regency, Indonesia. There are two variables includes namely theprimary variable and the supporting variable.  The identity of respondents consisted of the respondents’ age, education level, some innocent families, land area, and experience in breeding are the supporting variables. The primary variable is the knowledge level in implementing ND vaccination. Diallel Analysis of Chili Pepper Resistance to Melon Aphid (Aphis gossypii Glover) Infestation in Seedling Phase
Aphis gossypii Glover is one of important insect pest in Indonesia. Genetic analysis of resistance to A. gossypii is required in plant breeding program to obtain host-plant resistance cultivar. Diallel analysis was used to estimate genetic parameters for chili pepper resistance to A. gossypii infestation in early generation. The objective of this research was to estimate genetic parameters of chili pepper resistance to A. gossypii infestation with diallel crossing design. The F1 and parent plants were arranged in randomized competed block design with three replication. Resistance lines was measured using choice test laboratory screening techniques. Two aphids were infested per plant and stopped 12 days after first infestation. Different lines respond was detected as shown by significant numbers of aphid per leaf, total aphid per plant, and total winged aphid per plant. There were no maternal effect and resistance were controlled by recessive and polygenic genes. Gene effects for resistance to aphid’s infestation were additive and dominance. Characteristics of Quality Semen, Hatching Arabic Chicken Eggs and Growth of Chicks from Crosses
This study aims to evaluate and analyze the characteristics of the quality of semen, and hatching of Arab chicken eggs and the growth of crosses from chicks. This research was conducted at the Permata Farmer Group business, Wua-wua Village, Wua-wua District Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi for three months. This study uses a Completely Randomized Design which is three treatments and six replications. The parameters measured were semen quality, egg weight, egg index, fertility, DOC weight gain, feed consumption, and feed conversion. The data analysis used is Analysis of Variance. The results of this study indicate that the consequences of crossing three males did not have a significant effect (P 0.05) on the measured parameters. It can be seen in the research process which gives results that are not much different from the results of the crossing of three different males using the Arabic parent in the initial phase of production
