Rhizophora mucronata Lamk. is widely used for rehabilitation of mangrove areas because the fruit is easily obtained, sowing and can grow in areas of high or low tidal inundation. This study aims to know the effect of high-low waterlogging on fecundity (the development of fruit into mature propagules) Rhizophora mucronata Lamk and to determine the characteristics of the ecosystem environment on the Rhizophora mucronata Lamk fecundity. The study was conducted in the Marobo River Mawasangka, Buton Tengah, Southeast Sulawesi. Observations were made in the downstream area towards the headwaters of the river. Each zone is made 100m baseline; the distance between sub-transects is 25m. Each subplot was plotted by making 2x2m2 quadrant plots for Rhizophora mucronata Lamk. earning productive interest, propagules and seedlings, making it easier to count the number of seedlings. Fecundity (counting the number of fruits until the propagules ripen each tree) and measurement of environmental chemical physics. Fecundity comparison analysis between the two zones by using a t-test. The results of the study based on the t-test, there is a significant difference in the percentage of fruit and propagules in zones 1 and 2 with a value of p 0.05, the highest average fruit is in zone 1 (79.9%). The highest propagule average is in zone 2 (33, 9%), highly influential in the high-low of puddles with salinity levels of zone 1 (20%) and zone 2 (10%). The results showed that there was a high-low waterlogging effect on the Rhizopora mucronata Lamk fecundit

Corn is one of the most important food commodities consumed by most people in various parts of the country. There is a real interaction between spacing varieties on the observed characters. There are one or more production chatacters that have a significant correlation with production. This research will be carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Bajeng Cereal Research Institute, Bajeng District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi, with a coordinate point of 5o18'21.5 "LS, 119o28'38.6" BT. The research was conducted from August to November 2020. This study used a separate plot experimental design. The main plot is a planting system legowo (S) which consists of 3 planting systems, namely the spacing of 75 x 20 cm = 66,667 pop / ha (J1), Legowo (50 + 100) x 20 cm = 66,667 population / ha (J2), and Legowo (50 + 100) x 18 cm = 74,074 population / ha (J3). Meanwhile, the subplots were maize varieties (V), namely NASA 29 (V1), Bisi 2 (V2), and Sinhas 1 (V3). From the research results, it can be concluded that the spacing has no effect on the character of the observation. the variety has a very significant effect on the observed character, except for rod diameter. As for the correlation, the observed characters that had an effect on production were ear length and weight of 1000 seed

Since the activity of thunderstorm over Sumatera area – Indonesia increased during intermonsoon season in September, October, and November (SON) month, the thunderstorm as a natural disaster is influenced human activity. During the thunderstorm status increased may change an economy factors in this state due to natural hazard damage. Therefore, the development of Sumatera eArly warNing of ConvectIve System (SANCIS) for Thunderstorm Prediction System is necessary to avoid the natural hazard victims and helping meteorologist to predict thunderstorm event. To support the SANCIS development, we designed the thunderstorm model based on Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS). This system is equipped database meteorology and satellite imaging to update information and status thunderstorm event. In addition, to create the ANFIS model we use a two variable such as relative humidity (H) and PWV from radiosonde (RSPWV) from Weather Underground (WU) website and University of Wyoming (UW), respectively. Furthermore, the thunderstorm status prediction was updated in the SANCIS website. The two information per-day of status thunderstorm prediction were covered thunderstorm activity in this area.  Finally, the system was designed to monitor and giving the information of thunderstorm status during thunderstorm event

A Translation Analysis of Indonesian Proverbs and English Novel Titles

    No full text
Translation is a complex process done by translators. They applied various styles in producing a good work of translation either from Indonesian to English or vice versa. Applying certain strategy on translation work is full of motives. This study tried to investigate the translation strategies used by translators in translating Indonesian proverbs and English novel titles. This study was categorized as qualitative study with content analysis approach. The samples were randomly selected from an online source and a textbook. It was found out that that most of the proverb translations used oblique translation strategy especially with adaptation and equivalence processes. It is not common to translate proverbs by using literal translation because the TT will sound weird to the target readers. That is why the better strategy used to translate proverbs is by trying to find out the equivalence proverb in the TT if there is (equivalence procedure), or taking the idea or the essence of the ST although it has different stylistic form and structure (adaptation process) rather than directly translating them literally. The translation of novel tittles also has the same condition as the translation of proverbs. The common process used are modulation, equivalence, and adaptation. However, based on finding, the first two were rarely used in this kind of data, while the most frequently used was the last one. The reasons for choosing these kind of processes are for stylistic purposes and equivalence in the target text
