FACTORS AFFECTING THE PRODUCTION OF RICE FARMING IN POLENGA VILLAGE, KECAMATAN WATUBANGGA DISTRICT KOLAKA REGENCY
The productivity of rice farming is largely determined by the use of production factors such as land, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and labor. High productivity will only be achieved when the allocation of production factors is done effectively and efficiently. This study aims to determine the effect of production factors on the production quantity of rice farming in the Polenga village, Watubangga district, Kolaka regency. The sample determination in this study was performed using the Slovin method, while the data analysis method used in this study was multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the production factor of land area had a significant effect on the quantity of rice farming production. Meanwhile, the production factors of the quantity of seeds, the amount of urea fertilizer, the amount of NPK fertilizer, the amount of pesticides and the quantity of workers did not have a significant effect on rice farming production in Polenga village
Analysis of The Efficiency Allocative of The Tabela Rice Farming System in Tondowolio Village, Tanggetada Sub-District, Kolaka
This research aims to determine the efficiency of the use of factors (seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, the number of workers) allocatively in the wetland rice farming system in the Tondowolio Village, Tanggetada District, Kolaka Regency; This is to determine the risk of lowland rice farming with a table system in Tondowolio Village, Tanggetada District, Kolaka Regency. This research was conducted in Tondowolio Village, Tanggetada Subdistrict, Kolaka Regency, using an analysis of allocative efficiency and farm risk. Results: The seeds with an NPMx / Px value of 499.9 1 so that the use of seeds in the research area was not efficient, the allocative efficiency of fertilizers with an NPMx / Px value was 6.18 1 so that the use of fertilizers in the research area was not efficient, the allocative efficiency of pesticides with a value NPMx / Px of 1357.56 1 so that the use of seeds in the research area is not efficient, the allocative efficiency of HOK (labor) with an NPMx / Px value of -237.75 1 so that the use of seeds in the research area is inefficient. Farm risk analysis obtained a production risk value of 0.41, a price risk of 0.008 and a risk of profit of 0.41. The value of production risk, price risk, and profit risk is directly proportional to the risk faced by farmers, the greater the coefficient of variation obtained, the greater the risk that must be borne by farmers, and vice versa
Examining the Issues of Gender and Indigenous Knowledge in English Education Semester Courses
Gender and indigenous knowledge are the contemporary cross-cutting issues to be addressed in the mainstream curriculum for enhancing inclusion and equity in higher education along with the recognition, preservation and promotion of indigenous knowledge. The issues of gender and IK are the cross-cutting subjects to be addressed in the contemporary educational discourses around the world including Nepal. Taking these issues into considering, this study critically examined and analysed the issues of addressing gender and integrating IK into the M.Ed. English courses of Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal, along with the pedagogical practices, assessment and research. Framing on indigenous perspective with social justice, cultural capital, classroom ecology and linguicism as the theoretical lenses, this study applied qualitative study of contents analysis and an open-ended questionnaire with the teachers from TU. The study found that the course content is not much inclusive in terms of gender and indigenous knowledge. However, pedagogical practices, assessment system and research are gender and indigenous friendly as responded by the participants. Its implication is that the M.Ed. English courses of Nepal’s TU needs to address the issues of gender and indigenous knowledge for equity, inclusion and recognition of indigenous knowledge for the glocal context.Â
SLOPE STABILITY ANALYSIS USING GEOELECTRIC IN ROAD DUAPITUE DISTRICT, SIDRAP REGENCY
Research has been carried out on lanslide slip area of landslide of the road in Duapitue Sidrap. This study aims to determine the slip field using geoelectricity which is suspected as the cause of slope stability/landslide disturbance in terms of resistivity values in each layer and to determine the structure and coating of subsurface soils in the Kampale sub-village, DuaPitue. Information about the structure and coating of the land is used to determine the limits of soil instability that can be used as a reference in the planning of cliff/ slope strengthening on the intended road. From the cross section of the material resistivity, it can be seen that the weak zones on the shoulder and the road body are more than 10 meters deepth. Most of the overburden is unconsolidated fill material, covered by alluvium material with a fairly large air composition with a thickness of 5-10 meters. Slip area of lanslide formed at an average depth of 12 meters between the weak zone of the embankment material layer and the water-saturated alluvium layer with relatively solid alluvium and sandstone material beneath it
IMPLEMENTATION OF NUMBER HEAD TOGETHER (NHT) LEARNING MODEL TO IMPROVE STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES OF CLASS VII-1 PUBLIC MIDDLE SCHOOL 5 TERNATE CITY ON NATURE MATERIAL OF INDONESIA.
This study aims to determine the increase in student learning outcomes through the application of the learning model Number Head Together (NHT) on the material natural conditions of Indonesia, Public Middle School 5 Ternate City in 2013/ 2014. This type of research is classroom action research that follows the stages of research that start from action planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that the Number Head Together learning model succeeded in improving student learning outcomes. this can be seen from the acquisition of student grades, namely there are 20 students (80%) who have not yet reached The Minimum Completeness Criteria and there are only 5 students (20%) who have achieved The Minimum Completeness Criteria in cycle I. In cycle II it increased to 19 students (76%) who reached The Minimum Completeness Criteria and only 6 students (24%) who have not yet reached The Minimum Completeness Criteria. Learning with the Number Head Together model can make students have the courage to ask questions, answer questions, discuss and cooperate with fellow group members, and can create an atmosphere of active, creative, and fun learning
EFL Students’ Reflection on the Use of Madlipz in Listening Class
The purpose of this paper is to investigate EFL students’ reflection using Madlipz in listening class. Madlipz refers to one smart phone application that enables the users to listen to some short conversations taken from certain movies and record their voice like a dubber. Madlipz aims to empower the students to learn independently. The research used qualitative study and involved 40 students studying at English Language Education of IAIN Kendari. The study was analyzed using reflection questions from 40 students who were taking listening II subject in their second semester. The result indicates how the students’ feel towards the application of Madlipz. It includes students’ difficulty when they first listened to the Madlipz audio, their preference when they need to work with a partner and their feeling when preparing their own script to make their Madlipz audio. In general, they show positive feeling to the use of Madlipz in listening class. However, there should be a longitudinal research to create more contribution on students’ listening skill
The Making of A Low-Cost Breast Anatomical Model As A Simulator For Breast Self-Exam
Self Breast Examination Practice (BSE) requires the help of a breast model so midwifery students can learn to detect breast cancer as early as possible easily. This study aimed to develop a cheap and easily accessible breast model for BSE clinical practice learning through the manufacturing stage, expert team validation, and small group trials of students. This research method is 'Research and Development' (Research and Development / R D). Type of qualitative research. The results in this study of breast models are categorized as low-cost products and appropriate technology. The conclusion in this study is that breast models made can be used as teaching aids for clinical practice of BSE in midwifery students. It is recommended to conduct further research, namely a trial study with respondents or a large sample or commonly referred to as a mass trial
The Completion of Positive Contact Distribution Models in Transmission Distribution of Viruses in Two Different Locations
This paper discusses the mathematical model of the spread of viruses between locations by examining population models of one species in two different locations. Each location has the same subpopulation but has a different number of species. This model assumes that H1N1 virus transmission can occur due to direct interaction with infected individuals and spatial movements in a location by each individual in the Susceptible and Expose subpopulations. Local and global movements are not only carried out by Susceptible and Expose but also by Infected subpopulations. This mathematical model is constructed based on the compartment model, then reduced, so that a positive solution can be obtained. If the growth rate of population (mortality rate minus the birth rate) is greater or equal to the constant of the individual movement proportion, then positive solution are fulfille
Attitudes and Motivation of Afghan Students toward Learning English
AbstractThis study investigated Afghan students’ attitudes and motivation toward learning English at six different universities in Afghanistan. Several factors were believed to influence their success in learning English (i.e., motivation types as a major factor together with variables, such as gender, grades, fields of study, parental/teacher involvement, language learning anxiety and academic achievement). In searching for a reliable attitudinal profile of the subjects, quantitative research methodology was adopted along with mixed research techniques. The data was collected from 457 university students (273 male and 184 female) and 12 university EFL teachers through questionnaires and interviews. The findings showed that most of the Afghan university students held a positive attitude toward learning English and they were highly influenced by three types of motivation (i.e., instrumental, integrative, and intrinsic). Significant differences were found in the attitudes of students in terms of their fields of study, grades, and language learning anxiety. Interestingly, the findings also showed that some students were demotivated to learn EFL due to the propagation that English will no longer widely be used if NATO and US forces leave Afghanistan. It is suggested that EFL teachers should adopt motivational strategies in their classes to develop students’ positive attitudes and enhance their motivation toward learning EFL
