    Phenotypic Similarities and Differences of Genetic Characteristic Boer and PE Goat Yield Crossbreeding 1st and 2nd Generation

    This research aimed to analyze the phenotypic similarity and genetic characteristics of 1st and 2nd generation (G1 and G2) goat of Boer and PE goat yield crossbreeding. The number of offsprings of G1 and G2 was46 and 28 goats, respectively. Data analysis of phenotypic characteristics was estimated by calculating the opportunities of the number of the appearance of G1 and G2 offspring. The result showed that the percentages of the G2 of  W11 similarity (67.86%) more significant than G1 (26.09%).  The W21was the G1 (45.65%) higher than G2 (10.71%), and W31 was G1 (28.26%) higher than G2 (21.43%). It concluded that G2 had phenotypic similarities of the characteristic (color) in total progeny. The G2 goat displays the phenotypic characters of inheritance (color)patterns that had more significant similarity than the results of the G1, as well as similarities in morphological characters that were different from the G1. The characteristics (colors) in the G2 had dark brown head color greater than G1, and body conformation approaches to Boer goat. Other colors like light brown, plain white, black, and straight black on G1 greater than G2

    Correlation of Body Weight and Spermatozoa Motility of Native Chickens with Feeding BSF Maggot

    This study was conducted to evaluate the reproductive potential of native chickens by examining the correlation between body weight and spermatozoa motility. The correlation analysis results obtained a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.475.  The results in this research was a significant value of 0.1960.05 means that statistically, there is a relationship between body weight and spermatozoa motility. Still, the correlation between body weight and spermatozoa is weak. Bodyweight gain is one parameter that can be used as a production standard. Based on the results studied, it can be concluded that there is a relationship with the correlation value between body weight and spermatozoa motility of male cocks with BSF Magot feeding

    Effect of the Use of Noni Leaf Extract as a Natural Disinfectant on the Percentage of Hatchability and Day Old Quail (DOQ) Hatching

    This study aims to determine the effect of noni leaf (Morinda citrifolia lignosae) extract as a natural disinfectant on the percentage of hatchability and the hatchability weight of quail (Coturnix-coturnix japonica). This study used 1,500 quail hatch eggs with a male and female parent ratio of 1: 4. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method, with five treatments and three replications each repetition consisting of 100 quail eggs with 10-gram weight. The treatments used were: T0 (control treatment), T1 (commercial disinfectant), T2 (noni leaf extract 10%), T3 (noni leaf extract 20%) and T4 (noni leaf extract 30%). The results of variance showed the average percentage of hatchability produced during the study, namely T0 (85%), T1 (83%), T2 (86%), T3 (84%), and T4 (93%). Furthermore, the average weight of hatchability produced, namely T0 (6.67 grams), T1 (6.76 grams, T2 (6.89 grams), T3 (6.84 grams) and T4 (6.89 grams). Overall administration of noni leaf extract had no significant effect (P 0.05) on the percentage of hatchability and DOQ hatching weight of the quail

    Learning media is one of the tools that teachers use to deliver material to students, so that they can be motivated in learning. Unfortunately, there are some teachers have not used interesting media in order to increase students interest. In this case, one of the effective media is by used interactive multimedia. Therefore, in this study the researcher try to develop the interactive multimedia by using Auto play Media Studio 8 about the diversity of life organization system for VII grade students. The research subject consisted of three biology lecturers in UNP, two science teachers and 30 students in class VII of SMPN 31 Padang. Based on data analysis, the validity value of 80.81% (valid) is obtained, the practicality value of the teachers was 86.60% (practical) and the practicality value of students was 90.91% (efficient).     Curriculum 2013 teachers are required to perform a scientific study. So it's essential to see how the competence of teachers in learning based on a scientific approach. Based on this study aims to describe (1) the ability of science teachers in designing learning based on the scientific approach in SMPN 1 and SMPN 2 Kendari (2) the competence of science teachers in implementing the learning-based approach is scientifically appropriate curriculum, 2013 in SMPN 1 and SMPN 2 Kendari. The collection of data is done (This sentence appears to be written in the passive voice. Consider writing in the active voice) using an instrument study lesson plans, teaching observation, and interviews. The sampling using a purposive sampling method or sample aims. Samples are 13 teacher teaching science classes VII and VIII derived from two schools SMPN 1 and SMPN 2 Kendari.     Nickel is a valuable sediment material obtained by mining. The main problem in the nickel post-mining land at Pomalaa is the toxicity of nickel (Ni) and chromium (Cr). The results of the analysis of soil samples showed that nickel levels reached 11103.74 mg/kg and chromium reached 4030.17 mg/kg. The toxicity limit for plants for nickel is 100 ppm and chromium is 20 ppm. The toxicity of nickel and chromium can cause the degradation of soil and plant fertility. Bacteria are biological agents that are environmentally friendly which can be used to reduce metal toxicity on post-mining land. This study aims to examine biochemically 6 indigenous bacteria resistant to 10 ppm NiCl2 and 4 indigenous bacteria resistant to 10 ppm CrCl2 and identification. Biochemical tests were carried out namely gram test (3% KOH), catalase test (3% H2O2), oxidation-fermentation (O-F)test and endospores test. Based on the results of biochemical tests known indigenous bacteria from the genus Bacillus Sp. is gram-positive (+) bacteria that do not have the catalase enzyme, do not have the ability to use carbohydrates and produce endospores in their life cycle while indigenous bacteria from the genus Clostridium sp. is a gram-positive (+) bacterium which in part has the enzyme catalase, all of which have the ability to use carbohydrates and only some of them produce endospores

    This study aims: 1) find out the results of students' mathematics learning with cooperative learning models of type STAD class X SMA 1 Watubangga; 2) find out the mathematics learning outcomes of students with the GI type cooperative learning class X at SMA Negeri 1 Watubangga; 3) find out the differences in mathematics learning outcomes of students who were taught using the STAD and NHT type cooperative learning models; 4) knowing the mathematical learning activities of students living in coastal areas. The populations in this study were all students (132) of class X SMA Negeri 1 Watubangga in the 2016/2017 academic year. Sampling was done using cluster random sampling technique as an experimental unit selected two research classes with a total sample of 67 students, namely one experimental class and one control class. The data collection techniques used were test and observation. To get a representative question, the validity and reliability were tested, while the data analysis techniques used were descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Based on the data analysis, the conclusions obtained were Fcount = 1.29 and at the level of 5% obtained Ftable = 1.806, because Fcount Ftable then H1 is accepted so that it can be concluded that the two variances are homogeneous and then tested using the t-test. At the level of 5% t table was 1.996 and t count was 1.56, and t count t table then H1 is rejected, with the acceptance of H0 it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the learning outcomes of mathematics taught by the STAD cooperative learning model and learning outcomes Mathematics students taught by the GI type cooperative learning model in class X of SMA Negeri 1 Watubangga

    A Study on The Quality of Final Exam Items Made by The Teacher at XII Grade Students of Senior High School in Sidrap Regency

    Bad quality of the questions is one of the factors that can lead to errors in the grading of student learning outcomes. It gives a lower students’ score than the appropriate score and will give an impact on school grades (NS). In this case, school grades (NS) have an effect of 40% in determining the passing of national exams (UN). Therefore, this study was conducted to assess the quality of first semester final exam items made by biology class XII teacher based on some aspects; they are the material, construction, and language. In this study, the researcher used purposive sampling technique in order to collect the data. Items were assessed using a multiple-choice item evaluation sheet which has been declared valid by an expert validator. By combining the material aspects of the assessment data, construction, and language, research results obtained in general show that of the 120 items assessed, there are 104 ( 86,7 %) items with excellent criteria and 16 ( 13,3% ) items with right criteria. Thus, the items made by biology class XII teachers are still suitable for final semester exam of the 2013/2014 academic year Sidrap Regency

    Bioecology of Coconut crab (Birgus latro L.) On Kaledupa Island, the objective of the research is to know the Biological characteristics (morphometric measurements in the length and width of the carapax, cephlathorax added rostrum (Cp + r) and body weight) and to know the Ecological characteristic (population size) Coconut crab which is on the island of Kaledupa. Sampling technique used the CMRR (Capture-Mark-ReleaseRecapture) method. Data analysis techniques used: (1) Coconut crab morphometry. Data were analyzed descriptively by calculating the average length and width of the carapax, cephalothorax + rostrum length and body weight, (2) Data on sex ratio and population estimation were analyzed quantitatively. Based on the result of the analysis, the highest morphometric measurements are the length of the carapax with an average of 6.37 cm, the width of the carapax 6.03 cm, the length of the cephalothorax + rostrum 10.06 cm, which is located at the location of Station I (Hoga island, Furake sub-village). This is because of this station has unspoiled environmental conditions and there are burrows or caves where the Coconut crab is hiding, where the station belongs to the Wakatobi National Park which is a protected area, and has coconut and other shrub vegetation. These are a food source of Coconut crab s, so this area is ideal for the survival of Coconut crab. The lowest morphometry measurements obtained by carapax length with a mean of 5.62 cm, carapax width of 5.49 cm, length of cephalothorax + rostrum of 9.044 cm, which is found at the location of Station II (Sombano village). This is thought to be the condition of habitats that have been converted into other uses such as the opening of plantation land, so many of the Coconut crab hide outs are damaged.
