What Do Students Expect to Learn in their English Class at College?
Get PDFThe authors conducted a survey of college freshmen, in April, 2017, asking them how they evaluated their English proficiency level, what areas of English they wished to improve, what kind of English lesson had made a good or bad impression on them, and finally what type of English instruction they hoped to receive at college. The survey was carried out at eleven different colleges in Aichi Prefecture and 577 answers were collected altogether.
This paper attempts to analyze the answers to the last question, namely regarding their expectations towards college English education. All the responses were input into a Word file and arranged according to the types of English instruction described by responders. The authors devised 22 instruction types and grouped these into five categories. We also tried to find out the differences between those who evaluated themselves as good at English and those who did not. After we show the results of our analysis, we will offer some suggestions as to how English teachers should design their classes to meet the needs and expectations of college students.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDF本論文では、幼児期の子どもを対象に、初心者の読譜のソルフェージュを提案した。ピアノを弾くためには、音符を視覚的に認識し、それに対応する鍵盤の位置を判別し、その位置に指を動かすように脳が運動神経に指示する事が必要である。この問題を解決するために、五線を使用する譜読みの前段階のソルフェージュの方法を提案した。
ピアジェの発達論に関連付けて9×7ｃｍの画用紙に丸いシールを貼りながら鍵盤との音高の知覚がわかるようにした。それを筆者の教室の生徒に実践して、その結果，音高の知覚がわかり読譜ができたという結果が得られた。departmental bulletin pape
European Communication Network of Nagoya Wireless Telegraph Yosami Radio Transmitting Station
Get PDFThis paper is to clarify the communication network between Nagoya Wireless Telegraph Yosami Radio Transmitting Station and Europe during 1929-37. The Yosami Radio Transmitting Station was built in Yosami mura (village), in the southern suburbs of Kariya, Aichi, Japan, in 1929. It ceased communications in 1993, and the station buildings were demolished in 2006. This paper sets out details of the transmitting and receiving stations in the six countries of Poland, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, and Italy with whom the Yokkaichi (formerly Kaizo) Receiving Station (1928-38) and the Yosami Transmitting Station, both controlled from the Nagoya Wireless Telegraph Station, were in communication in the years 1929-1937, obtained from contemporary documents, information from overseas researchers, and direct site visits undertaken by the author and Shoji Ishida in Germany in 2010 and in the United Kingdom and France in 2018.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDF本学では、約4割の学生が実習中に喉の不調を感じているということがわかった。多くの場合、喉に負担がかかる声の出し方をしていることに起因している。喉に負担をかけずに子どもたちに話声や歌声を届けるためには、まず、発声法を学び、自分という楽器づくりをすること、そして、日本語の特性について理解し、発音について学ぶ必要がある。声を響かせること、正しく発音することのバランスを考え、人を惹きつける歌い方を習得する。歌い方の具体例として、幼児の歌を歌う際に気を付けたい留意点を示した。生涯にわたり自身の喉を守るため、また、保育、教育現場で、ともに歌い、語りかける｢声｣によって子どもたちに安心できる場所を与えるため、歌唱指導を通して「声」を作ることが重要である。departmental bulletin pape
Nomura Yoshibee and the Relationship between Religion and Science
Get PDF本研究において野村芳兵衛の親鸞（浄土真宗）への信仰を基底とした生活訓練論の検討にあたって、先行研究である竹内常一の『生活指導の理論』（1969）を中心に検討した。そして、竹内による宮坂再評価論（1989）を検討することによって、現代における野村の再評価につなげる試論を試みた。竹内は再評価にあたって、「教科における生活指導」において教師と子どもが教材を媒介にし、対話をもった協同的な授業を通して検討していくことの意義を述べた。こうした竹内による宮坂再評価から野村理解につながる点が明らかになった。それは子どもの生活現実からの学習観、生活指導観の構築であるといえる。次に野村と宮坂の共通点として、両者の生活指導論には信仰が基底にあることを挙げることができる。野村は浄土真宗、宮坂は曹洞禅に信仰しており、同じ教義への信仰ではないものの、両者は教義が異なっているとされる多様な宗教について共通点を見出していたことが本研究を通して明らかになった。両者の宗教のとらえ方は非常に酷似しており、そのことが両者の生活指導論のとらえ方にも基底にされていたと考えることができる。departmental bulletin pape
An Analysis of a Mature Nurse's Narrative Relating to Death
Get PDF本稿では、高齢者の「尊厳の保持と自立生活支援」を担う医療従事者である熟年看護師による死の語りについて考察した。本稿で「死の語り」を提供した60歳代の看護師Aさんが経験し、立ち会った死の看取りの語りにあらわれる言葉をKJ法により分析・考察した。語りの内容について、「患者の様子」「患者に対して行ったこと」「患者に対して思ったこと」「患者の家族」に対して等、患者に対する「思いやりの心」を表すコードの多さを見ることができた。また、「患者に対して思ったこと」より「患者に対して行ったこと」のコード数が多く、考えを行動に移せることが「人間としての強さ」の表れ、看護師としての成熟としてみることができた。departmental bulletin pape

Get PDFニュージーランドの歴史を紐解く時、19世紀（＝1800年代）が同社会のスタート地点となっている。ヨーロッパの国に「未知の大陸」の存在が伝わり、その未知なるものの実証と獲得のために当時の列強はしのぎを削っていた 。オランダによる島としてのニュージーランド発見、イギリスの上陸と領有宣言を経て先住民マオリとヨーロッパとの本格的な交流が始まった。
そうした中、ニュージーランド史において決定的な出来事として1840年に成立したワイタンギ条約がある。これはイギリス本国とマオリとの関係を成文化し両者の位置づけを明確にしたものであった。本稿では、その前段階であるヨーロッパ列強のニュージーランド発見からイギリスの同地の領有宣言、そしてイギリスのニュージーランド入植で始まった同地の植民地における先住民とマオリとヨーロッパ人との交流と摩擦について歴史の通時態的アプローチから検証を試みるのが本稿である。事象の分析にあたり、いくつかの設問を置くことにより、歴史上どのような意義があったのかを考えていきたい。それらを通して、ニュージーランド入植当初に生じた異文化間交流の難しさとその発展について明らかにするのが本稿の問いと目的である。departmental bulletin pape
運動と伝承遊びの欲求が運動意識に及ぼす影響
Get PDF本研究は、運動欲求と伝承遊び欲求の要因が、運動意識にどのように影響しているかを検討した。小学校4年生から6年生までの327名を対象に質問紙調査を行った。その結果、１）運動欲求の高い子どもの方が低い子どもより、身体的有能さの認知や、運動の日常生活の効果、運動の否定的感情、運動種目の上達願望、運動中の友好関係などが高い。その一方、休み時間における外的調整は運動欲求の低い子どもの方が高い子どもよりも高い。２）伝承遊び欲求の高い子どもは低い子どもより、身体的有能さの認知や、運動の日常生活の効果、運動の否定的感情、運動種目の上達願望、運動中の友好関係などが高い。休み時間における外的調整は伝承遊び欲求に影響されないこと、などが示された。departmental bulletin pape
Reading English News Articles by Constructing Tables
Get PDFThis paper shows a way of helping readers to understand the contents of English passages by constructing tables. It is based on three recent business news articles used in the author’s 2018 Marketing and Management classes. The paper follows on from the author’s previous paper “Authentic Reading on Business News Articles” in Ohkagakuen University’s Journal of the School of Liberal Arts, Volume 8 (2016), but with an emphasis on the effectiveness of table making for a comprehensive perspective. Table activities are more productive for this than multiple choices or the understanding of detached sentences. The discussion of each is accompanied by a content table to be filled in through reasoning and logic, with a few additional questions.
Tables, as understood here, are constructions that “show numerical values or textual information arranged in an orderly display of columns and rows” and “present a large amount of information efficiently” (American Psychological Association, 2010, 125). Constructing a table of the sort used to solve a logical problem can be an excellent way to obtain a comprehensive picture of information in an article. This paper also demonstrates how this can lead to a more integral understanding of an article through inferences about non-explicit information.departmental bulletin pape
