Making Entrance Exam Teaching Communicative: Report on a Writing Practice Using a Process Approach
Get PDFEssay writing is often excluded or skipped in high school English education because it is thought to take time and to not help students to pass entrance examinations. Also, many teachers find it difficult to balance developing students’ communicative abilities and their ability to pass entrance examinations. In this paper, I explain how I applied a process approach to high school writing classes and how I modified writing tasks in a workbook to make them more communicative. I argue that a process approach in writing is beneficial for students in developing critical thinking skills as well as grammatical knowledge through peer feedback and opinion exchanges. I suggest teachers create environments where students use English in meaningful contexts and can relate their own experiences to writing tasks.departmental bulletin pape
Warsaw Wireless Telegraph’s Communications with Nagoya Wireless Telegraph’s Yosami Radio Transmitting Station via Babice and Grodzisk Mazowiecki in Poland
Get PDFThis paper is to report the first radio communications between Europe and Japan by the Warsaw Wireless Telegraph Station, via Babice and Grodzisk Mazowiecki in Poland, with the Nagoya Wireless Telegraph’s Yosami Radio Transmitting Station, in Yosami mura (village), current Takasu-cho, Kariya, Aichi, Japan, built in April 1929. The radio transmitters in Babice, the receivers in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, and why Poland became the first destination of Yosami, are described, and the Polish Minister to Japan who visited Yosami just after its opening is identified. The paper is based on discoveries made through the author’s visits to the Polish station sites in August 2019 with Shoji Ishida and Ken-ichiro Hatta, and on documents obtained in the country.
The author has been showing visitors around Yosami as a member of Goodwill Guides for Yosami Transmitting Station Memorial Museum since it was opened in 2007 by Kariya City. The fact that Japan's very first radio communications with Europe passed between Yosami and Warsaw seems to be very little known.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDF現行2017年告示の保育所保育指針では「保育所の特性を生かした子育て支援」が強調されており、解説には、保育所の特性についてその具体的な内容も書かれている。本論では、まず「保育所の特性を生かした子育て支援」について指針と指針の解説の内容を検討した。次に、2008年告示旧指針解説書においても「保育所の特性を生かした支援」や「子どもの保育と密接に関連した保護者支援」という文言があるにもかかわらず、2015年の保育士へのアンケート調査結果から、日常の保育業務を保護者支援・子育て支援の視点から捉えていない保育士の実態を明らかにした。最後に、筆者が考える「保育所の特性を生かした子育て支援」について、保護者が支援されていると思わないところでの保育士の支援を述べ、現指針で強調されている「保育所の特性を生かした子育て支援」を行うにあたって、保育士の日常の保育を保護者支援・子育て支援の視点から見直す必要性を論じた。departmental bulletin pape
Feelings about "Communication with Non-native Speakers" -From the Open-ended Responses of Japanese English Language Learners-
Get PDFThe purpose of this study is to investigate how Japanese English learners feel about communicating with NNS. The participants of this survey were Japanese university students who were learning English. This study deliberately did not select students as participants from departments and courses that actively include English language study. The survey asked the following two questions requiring open-ended answers. 1) Do you want to use English to speak to non-native English speakers? 2) Do you think that it would be useful for you to have opportunities to listen to English spoken by non-native speakers rather than native speakers of English? Although learners want to communicate in English, there are some students that have negative opinions. The results showed what kinds of opinions learners who demonstrated negative factors about communication in English had, and it became clear that they did not have positive thoughts about communicating in English with NNS. With regard to negative factors in feelings held by learners about communicating in English with NNS, it is considered that it is necessary to incorporate, either partially or gradually, educational contents to broaden their knowledge of World Englishes.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDF顕在化しているほめ行動と、その背景にある意識（特に認知的側面や態度等）、そして脳の観点から、これまで行ってきた研究を振り返り、子どもをほめるという行為を俯瞰的に捉え直すことを本研究の目的とした。ほめるという行為は、様々な観点で対象を捉えることが可能であるとともに、より熟達者になると意図をもったほめができるようになることが分かった。また、子どもの行動・状態を捉える際、多くの点にフォーカスが向けられる人は、プランニングの力が高いことが明らかとなった。子どもの姿に対する評価や態度に関しては、脳活動を指標とした実験室実験を試みたが、明快な結果が得られなかった。今後は、観察などの自然な状況下でのデータから分析を行いたい。departmental bulletin pape
A Theoretical Examination of the Joint Interviewing -From an Interview with a Parent of Child with Disabilities-
Get PDF研究者が，自身の問題意識に関連する事柄について、重要な関係性のある二者に同時に面接する方法として、ジョイント・インタビューがある。ジョイント・インタビューを活用した研究は，国内外を問わず多くあるわけではなく、これまで方法論的検討が十分になされてきたわけではない。ジョイント・インタビューは、これまでのインタビュー研究にはなかった切り口から事象を探求しうる一方で，研究面・倫理面においてより配慮しなくてはならない点などクリアすべき問題もある。
本稿では、筆者がジョイント・インタビューを実施した事例について詳述し，ジョイント・インタビューを実施するときに必要となる方法的態度について検討した。その結果、共にインタビューをしている研究者が，協力者とのダイナミクスの中で，自身の考えや感じていることをインタビューの中で伝えるとともに，それも含めて記述していくことが、重要な関係性のある二者のパースペクティブに迫っていくためには必要不可欠であることを明らかにした。さらに，発達障碍のある子どもをもつ両親へのジョイント・インタビューを活用した研究への展望を述べた。departmental bulletin pape
On Getting Acquainted with Language and Culture in Class - Examples of the Class Enjoying HAIKU -
Get PDF平成20年度版小学校学習指導要領において「伝統的な言語文化に関する事項」が新たに設けられ、現行の小学校学習指導要領でも「我が国の言語文化に関する事項」として、同じく３・４学年で俳句と短歌が取り扱われている。その内容は「親しむこと」が重視され、その作品の内容についての鑑賞・解釈という点は求めてはいない。しかし、それでは俳句本来の価値に触れることは難しい。つまり文学作品としての短歌や俳句は、短く少ない言葉に秘められた思い、奥深さ、言葉によるイメージの膨らみを得ることがその価値である。その価値に触れてこそ、より親しみを感じるのではないのだろうか。その見地に立ち、光村図書教科書４年上で扱われている「雀の子そこのけそこのけ御馬が通る」（小林一茶）の俳句を例に、児童が俳句の内容に迫る授業の可能性を、授業実践例から考察した。児童は、句の中の数少ない言葉の意味、その言葉から導き出されるイメージを駆使して、この句の内容に迫っていくことができた。その授業からは、言葉というはっきりした証拠をもって豊かに想像を膨らませることの可能性が示されたと言える。departmental bulletin pape
Fostering Chief Nursery Teachers' Initiative in Creating Their Own On-the-Job-Training (OJT)
Get PDF本研究では、まず、先行研究の検討と事前のアンケート調査から、園内研修の中核的役割を担っている主任保育士が感じている園内研修を実施する際の課題として「研修体制の確保」「話し合いの雰囲気の醸成」「研修内容と目的設定」の3点を明らかにした。また、園内研修の「進め方」と「方法」に学びの関心があることが示された。これらは、日にちと時間を決めて全員参加で行う研修が保育現場では困難になっていること、そして、職員体制の複雑化した保育現場で話し合いをする雰囲気が醸し出せないという難しさが加わり、主任保育士は園内研修の方法や進め方に苦慮している現状を示している。加えて、筆者らは、主任保育士研修における研修内容「園内研修」に参集した主任保育士が、上記の困難な状況があっても実施できる自園に合わせた園内研修を創り出す研修内容を検討した。その際、主任保育士が今ある自身の保育経験や知識、技術を肯定的に捉えることをねらいとして組み込みこむことで、同じ困難性や課題をもつ仲間とのグループワークを通して、自園の園内研修に対して柔軟な考え方を得、自園の園内研修に積極的に取り組む自信を得たと考える。departmental bulletin pape

Why do children draw such drawings? -The basis of assessment and criticism of children's drawing -
Get PDFThe purpose of this paper is to construct a basic concept about children's drawings which allow teachers to evaluate and criticize children's drawings. Today, the overall optimum solution for "why do children draw such drawings" has not been completed yet. If the solution becomes clear, the assessment and criticism of the drawings of teachers will have more validity.
This paper first critically considers previous research on the question. Next, I offer three new approaches. The one is the activeness and constructive function of the visual brain. The second is the relationship between physical growth and the visual, inner ear, and somatic sensation that produce a sense of balance that responds to the vertical and horizontal movement of the body, and the developmental stage of drawing. The third, I consider the mutual projection in the relationship between vertical and horizontal structures of artifacts and the vertical and horizontal structures of the body produced by the interaction between the body and earth.
And I integrated the three approaches, and considered the basic concept of the space expression in the schematic stage.departmental bulletin pape
