Bicycling and Walking to and from School: Does It Affect Students' Body Mass Index and Aerobic Capacity?
Get PDFThis study investigates the differences between students who regularly cycle or walk when going to and from school and students who do not cycle or walk on body mass index and aerobic capacity. This comparative research involved 20 male students who were obtained using quota sampling techniques and divided into two groups. The first group consists of 10 students who have the habit of going to and from school by bicycle or walking (BW group). In comparison, the second group consists of ten students who do not have the habit of going to and from school by bicycle or walking (including being dropped off/picked up by their parents) (Non-BW group). The research instruments used were weight scales, height measuring instruments, and a 20-meter pacer test. The data analysis technique used is the independent sample t-test. Results of differences between the BW group vs. Non-BW group revealed that there was a significant difference in mean values in the aerobic capacity variable (29.1 ± 2,883 vs. 26.39 ± 2,822 ml/kg/min, p0.005). This research concludes that students in the BW group show better aerobic capacity than Non-BW group students. However, the body mass index showed no significant differences between the two groups
Development of Teaching Materials of Exposition Text
Get PDFThis study aims to produce teaching material development in the form of exposition text student worksheets, describe the feasibility of exposition text student worksheets, and find out the effectiveness of student worksheets for class X high school students. This research is a development research. The development model adapts Borg and Gall's research and development procedures to the stages of (1) potential and problems; (2) data collection for LKPD needs; (3) developing LKPD through product design and developing initial product forms; (4) product evaluation through validation by relevant experts/experts; (5) revision of the validation product design; (6) peer-to-peer product trials and limited-scale class trials and revisions to the trial results followed by large-scale class trials; (7) carry out the final stage of revision. The results of the study showed that (1) the students' worksheets on exposition texts had been developed according to the Borg and Gall concept, (2) according to the Borg & Gall concept and were declared very feasible by learning material experts, learning media experts, and practitioners with a percentage of 92.75 %, 95.00%, and 96.15%; (3) based on a comparison of the pretest, posttest, and N-Gain from the use of exposition text LKPD developed to get a value of 0.43 and 0.44 included in the "moderate" category so that it is effectively used in learning
An investigation of women's judgment in jurisprudence and Afghanistan law
Get PDFThis article examines the difference between women in Imamiya jurisprudence, Sunni jurisprudence, and Afghanistan law, and in this regard, it explores the views of Imamiya jurisprudence and Sunni jurisprudence with a comparative perspective. Meanwhile, the laws of Afghanistan have also been considered. The present research has been carried out with a descriptive analytical method and it has been concluded that among the Sunni jurists and Imamiya jurists, the dominant view is that women are not qualified to be a judge. About this disqualification, jurists have referred us to verses of Quran and Ahadith and they believe that the main reason for women's disqualification is the claim of consensus. Despite this prevailing view, some Imamiya jurists doubt the existence of such a consensus and do not consider women's limited qualification in cases that can be proven by their testimony. Among the religions, the Hanafis believe that women can take the position of judge, except in cases of retribution. The absolute authority of women to hold a judgeship among the Imamis and the Sunnis also has few supporters. According to this point of view, the laws of Afghanistan have not deprived women of this right, and women can take this responsibility just like men, therefore the Afghan Courts Jurisdiction Law has not mentioned being a man as one of the conditions of being a judge in this country

In writing this article the author used qualitative methods with a descriptive analysis approach. The results of this writing show that: 1) Cublak-Cublak Suweng as a dolanan song has a philosophical meaning that is closely related to the noble values of Javanese society. So a hermeneutical approach is needed to interpret the meaning of philosophical song dolanan Java. Approach this used for study and find the meaning contained in each Dolanan song. 2) Based on the interpretation of the meaning of the song Cublak-cublak Suweng, there are The value of tolerance is reflected in the interaction process between players to create togetherness, harmony, and socialization training
The Problemology of Conflict and Peace Solution in Afghanistan

During the past four decades, conflict and violence have been common, every day, and a part of the life of the people of this land, and their existence (life, property, and dignity) has been destroyed. Some consider the war as a foreign product and some as domestic. A conflict that was holy, era-making, and purposeful for a few people was absurd, unholy, and destructive for the general public. The war has brought a few people to fame, wealth, and status and has led the majority of the people to poverty and misery. At different times when war and violence have threatened the interests of warring groups, the flag of peace has been raised. Sometimes neighboring governments and sometimes the United Nations. Unfortunately, there is no end to the war in this country, nor is there a permanent peace. People are always facing this question: What is the cause of war? Is war a natural phenomenon between humans? Can war be divided into good and bad or useful and harmful? Is the result of war destruction or settlement? And about peace also: Why is peace not attainable for us? Is peace a gift? Should peace be defined against war or is it an independent social category? What does just war and honorable peace mean? What are the solutions to achieve peace? The findings of this research show that there are many causes of war in Afghanistan, and because of the peace-making process alien to the culture of this land, sustainable peace has become an unattainable ideal
The Impact of Explicit Strategy Instruction on ESP Medical University Students’ Reading Proficiency
Get PDFReading proficiency is poses a great challenge for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners, extending beyond mere word comprehension to encompass deeper linguistic understanding. The present study, conducted at a Medical University in Iran, investigated the efficacy of Strategy-Based Instruction (SBI) in improving English reading skills. To this end, fifty-six second-year Iranian ESP learners, aged 18 to 22, were selected and `divided into conventional and SBI groups. Descriptive statistics and t-tests were employed to analyze pre- and post-test scores, revealing a non-significant difference in mean scores for the conventional group, suggesting minimal improvement. Conversely, the SBI group exhibited a significant increase in mean scores, indicating the effectiveness of the intervention in enhancing reading comprehension. Moreover, a notable performance gap was observed between the SBI and conventional groups, highlighting the potential superiority of SBI in fostering EFL reading proficiency. These findings underscore the value of adopting innovative instructional strategies to enhance language learning outcomes
Jurisprudential Study of the Client's Infringement of the Banking Contract
Get PDFUsing bank facilities other than the subject of the contract is one of the basic challenges in banking, especially Islamic banking. Sometimes, customers mention some things to get bank facilities during the contract. Still, after the contract, they allocate money outside of what was agreed in the contract, and even in some cases, they may have the intention of deceiving the bank and intending to violate the contract from the beginning. This article raises the question of if the customer violates the contract, what is the obligatory sentence and status sentence of it? It seeks to determine the Sharia ruling on this issue. To find the answer to this question, the hypothesis of obligatory haram and invalidity of the contract has been put to the test, and an attempt has been made to clarify the Sharia ruling of this act by using jurisprudential sources and the opinions of jurists. In this research, the qualitative method of content analysis has been used and an attempt has been made to analyze sources and jurisprudential texts based on scientific theories. The results of the research show that compliance with the contract is mandatory and violation of it is considered a violation of the permission of the owner (bank) and makes the recipient of the facility to be the guarantor for any damages. Jurisprudents differ about the validity of the contract in case of the customer's violation, but the benefits from the capital will belong to the customer, and the customer's possession of these benefits is subject to the bank's permission.
Internalization Management of Character Education Value based on Multicural at SMP Labschool Jakarta

Bhinneka Tunggal Ika is the philosophy of the Indonesian nation as a spirit of unity, cooperation and love for the motherland. One of the important pillars to care, preserve and educate the nation's life is education. Education needs to continue to adapt to the conditions of the times that continue to grow and develop. One of the interests of education is to form a generation with character, dignity, achievement and competitiveness both on a national and international scale. Therefore, the importance of a management internalization of multicultural-based character education in the school environment that leads to a holistic learning process and adapts to the needs of 21st century education. This research uses interviews, observations and documentation as research instruments as a characteristic of qualitative research. The results of this study as a whole show a strong effort in internalizing multicultural-based character values in the school environment, through the vision, mission, motto and goals of the school which are then integrated into a curriculum system that emphasizes the internalization of multicultural-based character in students both in the intracurricular, co-curricular and extracurricular domains
Development of E-Learning based on Discovery Learning Oriented to Problem-Solving Ability and Overcoming Math Anxiety
Get PDFProblem-solving ability as one of the learning outcomes in the independent curriculum needs to be facilitated to achieve it. In addition, math anxiety which can affect problem-solving abilities needs to be addressed. Therefore, this research aims to produce and describe the feasibility of e-learning products based on discovery learning and oriented toward problem-solving ability and overcoming math anxiety in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This research is research and development using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The instruments used in this research consisted of validation sheets, teacher and student practicality sheets, learning implementation observation sheets, problem-solving ability tests, and math anxiety questionnaires. Validity and practicality data analysis was carried out using a quantitative data conversion table to qualitative data in the form of standard values. Effectiveness analysis was carried out using the paired sample t-test, Wilcoxon signed rank test and proportion test. The validity test meets valid criteria both in terms of material and media. The practicality test based on teacher and student assessments is very practical and on the feasibility of learning activities is very practical. The effectiveness test shows differences in problem-solving ability and math anxiety in the pre-test and post-test. The proportion test shows classical completeness in problem-solving ability and math anxiety so that it meets the effective criteria. The product was developed to facilitate problem-solving abilities and overcome math anxiety in the form of e-learning based on discovery learning on congruency and congruence material meets the feasibility criteria in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness
