Analyzing the Relationship Between Resilience and Depression Among Students of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Kabul University
Get PDFThis research aims to identify and analyze the relationship between resilience and depression to contribute to a better understanding of how resilience affects the reduction of depression symptoms and to offer strategies for enhancing resilience and decreasing depressive disorders among students. Through this study, I hope to provide a foundation for the development of effective intervention strategies and the promotion of psychological well-being within the student population. The present study was conducted in a descriptive-analytical manner. The statistical population of this research consisted of male students from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Kabul University, totaling 444 students. The sample size was calculated using Morgan’s table, resulting in a sample of 208 students selected through simple random sampling. Resilience and depression assessment scales were distributed in person to the students. To examine the research hypotheses, Spearman correlation tests were conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics 25 software. The results of the Spearman correlation analysis, with a correlation coefficient of (-0.480) and a significance level of (0.000), indicate that increased resilience is associated with a reduction in depression. This study found that resilience is inversely and significantly related to depression among students of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Kabul University. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening resilience as an effective strategy for reducing depression
Analysis of the Quality of Maxim and Indrive Online Motorcycle Taxi Services for Students of Dr. Soetomo University Surabaya
Get PDFThis study aims to determine the quality of service and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in Maxim and InDrive online motorcycle taxi services for Dr. Soetomo University Surabaya students. The measurement of service quality in this study uses the ServQual method provided by online motorcycle taxi drivers to service users using the dimensions of Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Emphaty, Tangible. The informant in this study was an active student of Dr. Soetomo University Surabaya who used Maxim and InDrive online motorcycle taxi services more than once a month. The data collection technique uses the in-dept interview method to 6 informants. The analysis technique used is a qualitative descriptive method with a constant comparative approach. The results of this study show that the quality of online motorcycle taxi services according to the perspective of students on average responds well to the statements given regarding the quality of services provided to customers
Development of BIPANESIA Application Learning Media Based on Local Culture for Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) Student
Get PDFIn accordance with the government's policy, teaching Indonesian to Foreign Language Speakers (BIPA) is not just about teaching the language but also imparting Indonesian local culture. Therefore, materials are provided to bring BIPA learners closer to Indonesian local culture. This research aims to develop the BIPANESIA smartphone application with a focus on Surakarta's local culture. The research was conducted using the Research and Development (R&D) method, applying the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The research involved 50 foreign BIPA learners studying at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), and Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Mas Said Surakarta (UIN RMS). Data collection was done through observations of the BIPA learners' needs related to the local culture they wanted to learn. Expert judgment was involved in the development. The application was implemented and evaluated in 8 BIPA learning sessions. The application's suitability was evaluated through critical analysis. The research results showed that BIPA learners need materials on elements of culture that are still relevant as well as those left behind by the local community, such as batik, traditional food, traditional ceremonies, and folklore. The developed smartphone application was well-received by BIPA learners and was endorsed by BIPA instructors at Universitas Sebelas Maret. The BIPANESIA smartphone application can help them understand the local culture, and even the videos within the application are useful in bringing them closer to the authentic Indonesian local culture
Study of the Compensability of Damages Caused by Loss of Profit In Hanafi Jurisprudence and Afghanistan Law
Get PDFThis article studies the compensability of damages caused by loss of profit in the field of Hanafi jurisprudence and Afghan law. The damage caused to the victim is included in the damage caused by the loss of profit and the causer of the damage is obliged to compensate it. However, Hanafi jurists do not consider the damage caused by the loss of profit to be a guarantee and do not consider the cause of the damage to be compensated for. Therefore, the question is what are the base, reasons, and documentation of this point of view in Hanafi jurisprudence? And why can't the loss of profit be compensated? The findings of this research show that the non-compensability of damages caused by the loss of profit in Hanafi jurisprudence is rooted in profit, the definition of property and non-taxability of benefits from the point of view of Hanafi jurisprudence, and Afghan law does not follow Hanafi jurisprudence in this regard. The damage caused by the lack of profit is compensable, regardless of whether the damage is caused by a breach of contract or an illegal act.

Beyond the classroom, their real-world application is evident in database design, model-driven development, and logical reasoning in cybersecurity, equipping students with skills directly applicable to industry demands. The Student’s Response to Independent Learning Based on Social Cognitive Theory Perspective
Get PDFThis research aims to explore student responses to the Independent Campus Learning Program (MBKM) and its impact on learning independence, using Albert Bandura's social cognitive theory approach. The 21st century demands critical, collaborative, communicative and creative skills, but graduates still face gaps with industry needs. MBKM is implemented as a government effort to create quality graduates. This research involves students majoring in accounting as subjects, evaluating students' preparation, expectations, experiences, as well as evaluations and assessments of MBKM. The results show that students prepare themselves better cognitively and seek information from the surrounding environment before taking part in MBKM. Student expectations are influenced by environmental factors, and learning independence is reflected in the evaluation and assessment process, although some students face obstacles such as unclear regulations and less strict monitoring. These findings support social cognitive theory, emphasizing the role of environmental and cognitive factors in shaping students' independent learning behaviour. This research provides in-depth insight into student responses to MBKM and its contribution to learning independence. The theoretical implication is that environmental and cognitive factors play a major role, while self-efficacy and role models still need to be improved. The practical implications highlight the importance of paying attention to regulations, monitoring and evaluation that support student learning independence in the MBKM context. This research shows the relevance of social cognitive theory in explaining social phenomena among students in the MBKM program
Religious Identity: Demand from the Bottom to Overcome the Politization of Religion in Indonesia
Get PDFThis research aims to explore the development of democracy in Indonesia. For two decades, the journey of democracy in Indonesia has faced many obstacles. The obstacle that receives the most attention is the issue of religious identity. Large sums of money were disbursed by the Indonesian government to block the storm of religious politicization, so that it does not spread to the villages. This study was conducted using a qualitative research method with a case study approach and found an incident of religious politicization that negatively affected village democracy which was initially in a good situation and condition. In the village head election, despite the tight competition, the candidates used issues of religious sentiment to gain political support from followers of the same religion. A candidate who was Muslim urged the Muslim voters to vote for him because he had the same religion as them. They thought that this encouragement would be successful, as the majority of the village population were Muslims, and it would be easy to influence them to elect a Muslim leader. However, another candidate who was Christian did not use the method based on Christian sentiments because he felt that they were in the minority. This study found that other forms of religious politicization failed to gain the support of the majority population. The election of a Javanese Christian reverend undermined the politicization of religion itself. Programmatic politics was chosen by the people based on how they voted. Working earnestly accompanied by the sincerity and honesty of the candidate was the determining factor in winning the grassroots vote. This study presents the results of in-depth research into the election of a village head from different religious communities. A Christian reverend was elected as the village head for two periods with the support of the majority of the Muslim population
Literary and Political Identity from a Cultural Studies Perspective
Get PDFThis paper examines the relationship between literature and society in Mbojo's politics identity. For this reason, the aim is to describe the form of political identity of Mbojo society in literary texts from the perspective of cultural studies. The theory used in this study is the theory of literature and political identity. Literature has been used to designate any `image native', `creative', or `fictional' writing, whether in poetry, drama, or prose. Identity is an essence that is interpreted through sense of signs, beliefs, attitudes, and lifestyles. Identity is considered to be both personal and social and marks that we are the same or different from other people. This research used a type of qualitative research with the cultural studies perspective. It means that the cultural studies serve as an analytical perspective in dismantling or interpreting the texts in the novel. The research stages started from (a) preparation (initial observation and determination of research object); (b) data collection (reading and recording); and (c) analyzing and interpreting and triangulating (discussing with colleagues, comparing various relevant theories, and comparing information or data in different ways). In this study, it was found that the political identity featured in the Tambora 1815 novel is Islamic. The novel describes the values of obedience in following the orders of the leader, in this case is Ulil Amri. Leaders (Ulil Amri) are people who have responsibility of social problems.
Exploring Discourse Markers Usage and Challenges in Writing Procedure Texts: A Study on Vocational Students
Get PDFThe purpose of the study is to find out how vocational students employ discourse markers for writing procedural texts. Another goal is to investigate the difficulties students faced while writing coherent procedure text with discourse markers. This study applied a content analysis and adopted Braun and Clarke’s (2006) thematic analysis as the analysis technique. Data were gathered through interviews and documentation. 121 occurrences of discourse markers were found from 21 worksheets. Among the four types identified by Fraser's (2005) framework, it was also discovered that elaborative discourse markers are the most often used type. It is discovered that students are challenged because they are not familiar with discourse markers and have less competence in English. It is concluded that students’ competence affects their use of discourse markers types in writing. The implications are students need more practice in using discourse markers for writing text and procedure text is applicable for vocational students. Then, student's cultural background affects their language competence. Lastly, the researcher expects the future researchers explore strategies to write using discourse markers or factors behind the challenges in using discourse markers
