AI-Powered Pedagogy: Elevating Student Engagement in L2 Writing through Integrated Feedback
Get PDFBecause of its positive relationship with student learning outcomes, the construct of student engagement with feedback has gained increasing attention in higher education. However, while the literature acknowledges its significance, there is little research on what pedagogical approaches facilitate this engagement. This case study examines an authentic classroom with a group of 3 students engaged with a pedagogical approach that systematically integrated three types of feedback: AI-driven, peer, and teacher feedback. The research was carried out at a private university and was based on the analysis of multiple drafts of students' written assignments, feedback from an automated writing evaluation system, peers, and a teacher, as well as transcribed think aloud protocol and retrospective interviews between the teacher and students. The researcher discovered that the majority of students actively participated in this integrated approach, which effectively promoted students' behavioral, affective, and cognitive engagement with writing feedback and encouraged thoughtful revisions. The researcher concludes with pedagogical implications and suggestions for improving student feedback engagement
Indonesian Legal Protection of Traditional Knowledge as Community Identity

This knowledge includes methods of cultivating and processing plants, medicine, art, and food and drink recipes. Based on this, it is very important for a country to protect traditional knowledge, especially in this case Indonesia. This research uses normative legal research methods. The results of the research show that the Indonesian state has paid attention to this matter, which is included in intellectual property law and is currently developing a bill on the protection and utilization of intellectual property of traditional knowledge and traditional cultural expressions
E-tilang Programme in Strengthening Traffic Law Awareness as Civic Disposition in Surakarta City
Get PDFThis research is motivated by the existence of problems related to public traffic law awareness, because of the many traffic violations on the highway that sometimes cause accidents, related to drivers who do not obey traffic signs, do not wear helmets, three-ring bells, and non-standard exhausts. To overcome these problems, one of the methods used by the Surakarta police is the e-tilang program. This research aims to find out the e-tilang program in strengthening traffic law awareness as a civic disposition in Surakarta City, this research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The findings in this study show that the e-tilang program in Surakarta City in strengthening traffic law awareness as a civic disposition has not run optimally, because there are still various problems, one of which is that there are still many citizens who do not understand traffic regulations, and the deterrent effect caused by electronic tickets is still lacking. So that there needs to be cooperation from various parties, both citizens and Surakarta police, so that the e-tilang program can be implemented and succeed well
Analysis of Antecedents in Reviewing the Evaluation Results of Accreditation and Licensing Programs at SDIT Kaifa Bogor
Get PDFThe current problem is that the accreditation program for the license review at SDIT Kaifa has never been evaluated as a whole, only its implementation has been carried out. The purpose of this study was to determine the antecedent component in reviewing the evaluation results of the National Accreditation Board (BAN S/M) Accreditation program and the Integrated Islamic School Network (JSIT) License. A quantitative research method was used to reveal the results of the Antecedent evaluation on seven aspects. The research sample was conducted on eight teachers and 15 students. Data collection using questionnaires, data analysis techniques with descriptive statistics. The findings of the research results show that the seven aspects of the assessment evaluated in the Antecedent component are appropriate from the results of the teacher and student responses around 88% of the suitability. This can be interpreted that the evaluation of the Antecedent component can provide data or information in revealing the condition of the evaluated aspects. Future implementation of the results of this study is expected to be the basis for continuing to be developed as a reference in evaluating other educational programs

Get PDFIndonesia, an archipelagic nation with over 17,000 islands, boasts a rich tapestry of ethnic, cultural, and religious diversity. With more than 300 distinct ethnic groups and 1,340 tribes, each region in Indonesia is characterized by unique customs and traditions. However, managing these differences effectively is crucial to maintaining social cohesion and preventing conflicts. Studies have shown that Indonesia's cultural heterogeneity presents both opportunities for vibrant societal interactions and challenges in fostering interethnic harmony. The Karimunjawa archipelago, located in Central Java, exemplifies the complex dynamics of interethnic relations in Indonesia. Home to at least seven ethnic groups, including Javanese, Madurese, Buginese, Mandar, Butonese, Bajao, and Malay. Karimunjawa showcases diverse cultural practices, languages, and social interactions. While some ethnic groups, such as the Buginese, have maintained their cultural identity, others have assimilated to the dominant Javanese culture and language. The Javanese language plays a significant role in the archipelago, actively used in various domains and learned by non-Javanese ethnic groups. Despite linguistic assimilation, some communities, like the Bugis, still preserve their mother tongue within the family sphere, supported by cultural traditions. Understanding the dynamics of interethnic interactions and the role of government policies, societal attitudes, and educational strategies is crucial in fostering a cohesive and harmonious society in Indonesia
Types and Meaning of Mantra by Female Speakers in Social Activities in North Aceh
Get PDFThe study aims to describe the kinds of spells spoken by women in northern Aceh, and describe the meanings of the spells spelled by the women in Northern Aceh. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The results of the research show that the kind of spells that women speak in North Aceh are lovers' spells, farmers' magic, attractiveness-enhancing, healing, tooth-strengthening, bidding, childbirth smoothing, evil-removing, blood-blooding, and energy-adding spells. The meaning of the spell contained in this female speaker's spell is lexical, reference meaning, denotation meaning, and connotation meaning. As for the conclusion, the type of female speaker spell in northern Aceh that uses the language of Aceh shows its peculiarities, the number of lines is uncertain, but its specific rhythm besides there are also some who use the Indonesian language. The meaning of spells in northern Aceh society relates to family, beauty, medicine, love, livelihood, and immunity. Besides, the meaning of the female speaker's spell in northern Aceh has a very broad and different meaning, by reading the spell itself
Discourse on Land Law Matters in the Framework of Granting the Status of Land Use Rights for Foreign Citizens in Indonesia
Get PDFThe development of agrarian law in Indonesia has experienced a significant shift due to the influence of globalisation with its free market that encourages borderless development between countries. However, the principle held in the Indonesian constitution affirms the ownership of the earth, water, land, and all below and above it is the power of the state, which is intended for welfare, but also takes into account the existence of various types of land rights. The phenomenon of foreign nationals who actually want to smuggle the law by trying to own property rights to land, as well as outsmart the right of use they have, of course, this triggers the urgency of this paper to specifically examine, analyse, and find the dynamics and problems of Land Law in the Framework of Granting the Status of Land Use Rights for Foreign Citizens in Indonesia. This paper is supported by normative juridical research methods with a statutory approach, legal concept approach, legal fact approach, and relevant case law approach. In this case, it is found that here needs to be clear and definite legal regulations in order to provide justice and legal protection for the fundamental rights of Indonesian citizens. In addition, it is necessary to establish a monitoring team by the government, especially related to the granting of the status of the Right to Use land for Foreign Citizens and the provision of strict sanctions, both criminally and civilly in the form of compensation if there is a violation of the utilization and use of the Right to Use land that is not in accordance with its designation to Foreign Citizens domiciled in Indonesia, this is in order to provide a deterrent effect to Foreign Citizens if proven to have violated the law

Get PDFThis research aims to evaluate the challenges faced in implementing the social studies education curriculum from the perspective of an independent campus learning curriculum that answers the needs of students in studying at the tertiary level. Using a literature study approach, this research collects and analyzes data from academic publications, educational policy reports, and case studies related to the social studies curriculum. The research results show that the current social studies curriculum requires the integration of contemporary global issues and the use of educational technology to increase student engagement and understanding. This research also identifies the urgent need for professional development of lecturers so they can teach using methods that suit the needs of 21st century students. Furthermore, this research recommends strategies to strengthen students' critical and analytical skills in responding to the global dynamics of the industrial revolution era 4.0. The main conclusion emphasizes the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and policy makers in designing and implementing adaptive and sustainable curricula
The Challenges Faced by the Teacher in Clil Classroom: Case Study at Tumbuh Senior High School Yogyakarta
Get PDFMastering English has been an essential competency for embracing the demands of the contemporary era characterized by the Industrial Revolution 4.0. English emerged as the predominant medium for cross-cultural communication. Despite the implementation of various strategies to improve English proficiency among students in Indonesia, the attained level still fell short of anticipated standards. This gap underscored underlying issues within the teaching methodology, indicating the presence of factors, whether direct or indirect, that influenced the effectiveness of instruction. This study aimed to focus on the challenges teachers face in CLIL classrooms and to overcome the difficulties in language learning in CLIL classrooms at Tumbuh Senior High School. This study was a case study method with a descriptive qualitative inquiry approach, which employed several data-collecting techniques, including semi-structured interviews, observation checklists, and document checklists. The results obtained in the study reveal that teachers face many challenges when using the CLIL method in the learning process. These challenges include teaching preparation stages such as preparing lesson plans, adjusting learning levels to student abilities, organizing learning materials, introducing scientific language, mapping material across levels, and adapting terminology into two languages. The solutions teachers offer in facing these challenges include adapting lesson plans to meet student needs, integrating diverse media, and combining materials to implement teaching strategies effectively. Apart from that, they employ creative methods, adapting materials for student comprehension and avoiding overly academic language, which is crucial, explaining in both English and Indonesian, and using gestures to aid understanding. These strategies demonstrate a commitment to ensuring all students can understand and engage with the material despite language differences
Kurikulum Merdeka in Learning Indonesia Language: Study of High School Students' Perceptions
Get PDFThis research is motivated by the presence of the Kurikulum Merdeka at every level of education, both primary, secondary and tertiary. This research aims to examine the extent to which the Kurikulum Merdeka is implemented at the secondary education level in driving schools. This research method uses qualitative descriptive analysis with a case study approach. The collection technique uses a closed questionnaire. The results of the research show that students at SMAN 1 Cibadak welcomed the presence of the Kurikulum Merdeka, students hoped that there would be novelty from the new curriculum, and students were very enthusiastic. In this way, the Kurikulum Merdeka implemented in Indonesia language subjects at SMAN 1 Cibadak can run and is believed to be better in the future
