Conceptual understanding, numeracy ability, and mathematical disposition are a skill that students need, because having these three skills, students are able to solve various problems in everyday life. The Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach with the setting of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) is used to improve students' conceptual understanding, numeracy ability, and mathematical dispositions. This study aims to describe the effect of implementing the PMRI approach with STAD settings on students' conceptual understanding, numeracy ability, and mathematical dispositions. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest- posttest non-equivalent group design, with two class groups. Experimental class receiving treatment in the form of the PMRI approach with STAD, meanwhile control class receiving treatment conventional approach. Data collection techniques included tests consisting of pretest and posttest assessments of students' conceptual understanding and numeracy ability, as well as pre-nontest and post-nontest assessments of students' mathematical disposition. Hypothesis testing was conducted a t-test for two independent samples. The research results show that learning using the PMRI approach with the STAD setting is influential in terms of students' conceptual understanding, numeracy ability, and students' mathematical disposition

    Get PDF
The focus of this research is directed at finding out the understanding of online media journalists from JOIN NTT members regarding the journalistic code of ethics and how this understanding is clearly displayed in professional work activities as a form of responsibility for competent journalists or passing competency tests. This research aims to describe the strategy of online media journalists in NTT who are certified by the Press Council to apply a journalistic code of ethics in their reporting. The research method used is a case study, with snow ball sampling data collection techniques. The results of this research show that the truth of the information in news produced by journalists who have competency certification is part of the application of the journalistic code of ethics in news writing and production. The transparency of reporting in this research is demonstrated through objective reporting, which does not mix in the feelings/subjective elements of the journalists themselves. Journalists who have been certified as competent have truly based the production of their journalistic work on journalistic ethics which will ultimately have an impact on increasing the credibility of the journalists themselves. This research also suggests the development of further research using different methods, perhaps using phenomenology to determine the experiences, meanings and motives of journalists in applying the journalistic code of ethics in their reporting

On August 25 2011, the Tripa Peat Swamp Area was granted a Cultivation Plantation Business Permit (IUP-B) to PT. IUP-B) to PT. KA. Then on September 27 2012 the Governor of Aceh revoked the IUP-B given to PT. 1,605 Ha. The revocation was carried out as a result of the Indonesian Forum for the Environment (WALHI) lawsuit at the Banda Aceh State Administrative Court (PTUN) (Case Register No.19/G/2011/PTUN-BNA dated 23 November 2011). The High State Administrative Court (PTTUN) granted the Plaintiff/Appellant's lawsuit and declared null and void the decision issued by the Governor of Aceh on 25 August 2011 No.525/BP2T/5322/2011. With the annulment of Aceh Governor's Decree No.525/BP2T/5322/2011, of course there will be legal consequences for the status of land controlled by PT KA covering an area of ± 1,605 hectares. So it is necessary to carry out a scientific study regarding the position or status of the former IUP-B PT.KA land after the annulment of Aceh Governor Decree No.525/BP2T/5322/2011

The Constitution of Pakistanness in the Two Central Characters in Kureishi’s My Son the Fanatic

    Get PDF
One’s cultural identity has constantly been a critically never-ending question, particularly in the context of immigration. To put it simply as an ‘essential’ entity can also be problematically uneasy. This research will analyze how the central characters (Parvez and Ali) in Kuresihi’s My Son The Fanatic construct their subjectivity by conducting a descriptive analysis and applying Stuart Hall’s concept of cultural identity. Parvez, a Punjabi immigrant father, spends his adult life assimilating into English culture and intentionally desires to leave his Pakistanness due to his bad past experience when living in Lahore. Meanwhile, Ali, born and raised in England, is obsessed to construct and reclaim his Pakistanness by devoting himself to radicalized Islam because of his negative experience being a Muslim in England. The research finding posits that in constituting their cultural identities, there are some complexities which cannot be separated from their personal experience. Besides, this also suggests a critical discussion about cultural identity that is mostly deemed ‘essential’ as well as eternally ‘fixed’.
