Outlining Digital Literacy Competence of Pre-Service Teachers at English Education Department
Get PDFPre-service English teachers in the technology transformation advancement of this era need to master digital literacy skills. They must not only be able to adapt to using technology for personal learning but also for their role as future-teachers. This paper aims to explore and evaluate the digital literacy competencies of university-level students, focusing on their skills and the challenges they face in applying technology in education. It uses a survey of case study research design with a digital literacy questionnaire involving one of the private universities in West Java, Indonesia. The data are analyzed based on Bawden’s digital literacy framework. The data found there are more than sixty percent of pre-service teachers are able to create a directory or file folder; however, there are less than three percent of a pre-service teachers have a low ability in basic technical skills. It means that most pre-service English teachers have good digital literacy skills that can be used in teaching career development. Besides its support for pre-service teachers to be more creative in making learning effective and attractive, this also allows them. However, the teacher's role remains crucial in guiding students and providing an understanding of the positive and negative aspects of digital literacy
Principal's Instructional Leadership Based on Education Reports at SMPN 15 Mataram
Get PDFThis research aims to provide a clear understanding of instructional leadership of school principals based on educational reports in SMPN 15 Mataram, with sub-focuses including: identifying the forms of instructional leadership strategies employed by school principals in realizing the school's vision and mission, assessing the forms of instructional leadership strategies employed by school principals in realizing the school's vision and mission, assessing the impact of instructional leadership of school principals on student learning, and analyzing participation and support in the formulation and updating of the school's vision and mission. This study utilizes a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, using both primary and secondary data sources. Data analysis employed an interactive model consisting of data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Triangulation of sources and methods was employed to ensure data validity. The research findings indicate that strategies such as staff training, teacher collaboration, and focus on teaching quality have successfully created a dynamic and responsive learning environment in alignment with the school's vision and mission. Active and comprehensive participation from all school stakeholders in the formulation and updating of the school's vision and mission was also identified as a key factor in successful implementation. Recommendations include maintaining and enhancing effective instructional leadership strategies, increasing teacher participation and collaboration, supporting curriculum renewal, and providing further support from the Department of Education and researchers to improve the quality of education at SMPN 15 Mataram
Exploring SRL Differences: Science vs. Social Science Students in Soe, NTT
Get PDFThis study examines the differences in Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) skills between 3rd-grade science and social studies students at SMA X Soe City, South Central Timor Regency. The total population for this study was 386 students, with a sample of 196 students from SMA X Kota Soe, South Central Timor Regency, determined using the Slovin formula. The sample was further divided into 94 science class students and 104 social studies class students. The Self-Regulated Learning questionnaire comprises 39 question items that have undergone validity testing and have been deemed valid. The questionnaire has a high reliability coefficient of 0.955. Science students exhibit a mean value of 116.4255 for Self-Regulated Learning skills, which is higher than the mean value of social studies students, which is only 107.9510. The data analysis technique employed was Independent Sample T-Test. The results per aspect of Self-Regulated Learning (Motivation, Metacognition, Behavior) suggest that science students outperformed social studies students, indicating a difference in Self-Regulated Learning between the two classes. It can be concluded that the level of Self-Regulated Learning is higher in the science class than in the social studies class

Get PDFAny behavior that disrupts the safety, order and smoothness of traffic as well as the rules and regulations that regulate it, is considered a traffic violation. This article attempts to examine the case resolution process, obstacles and solutions in relation to Decision Number 450/Pid.Sus/2018/PN Smg, as well as the application of Law Number 22 In 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation in cases of traffic violations which resulted in fatalities. This research uses a sociological juridical methodology (social legal research) which is sometimes called social legal research. The qualitative method was carried out by utilizing primary and secondary data sources, then descriptive analysis was carried out from this data to form research. The analysis was carried out by applying 2 theories, namely the theory of justice and legal certainty in this paper. In accordance with Decision Number 450/Pid.Sus/2018/PN Smg, the Public Prosecutor has carried out the implementation of Law Number 22 in 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation by charging and prosecuting perpetrators of traffic violations that result in the death of people/individuals. The Public Prosecutor has prosecuted and imposed sentences for traffic violations in decision Number 450/Pid.Sus/2018/PN Smg. SRI WIDODO bin JUMIAN. Case resolution is carried out according to the Criminal Procedure Law contained in the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), starting from investigation, prosecution by the public prosecutor, and trial in court, which is followed by making a decision on the indictment
Unmasking Hierarchies: Analyzing Power Dynamics in Supervisory Discourse with Staff
Get PDFThis study aims to understand, reveal, and challenge social inequalities through the analysis of language and power dynamics in the workplace. Using qualitative approach, this study focuses on the interactions between supervisors and staffs. The data were collected by voice recording the interaction process, and were then transcribed into text. The data analysis process involved three main steps: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The transcribed text was analyzed using Dell Hymes' Speaking Theory, which helped categorize the various components of the interaction. This study reveals a formal and professional setting characterized by respectful language and hierarchical relationships. The conversation revolves around professional tasks and responsibilities such as attending meetings, delivering letters, and organizing participants for a futsal event. This study also highlights the structured hierarchy in the communication and the respect given to those in authority. The conversation's content is classified as a combination of task-oriented and problem-solving discourse. It underscores the importance of recognizing and comprehending power dynamics to encourage more equitable and effective communication and collaboration in the workplace.

We recognize that the patient, as the weaker party in obtaining hospital services, will usually accept what the hospital does, including in the case of his servants, even if his services are not in accordance with the prescribed procedures. This study and writing is to find out and explain how the policy of the health insurance enforcement against the hospital that practices fraud in fulfilling the rights of the patient as well as setting the duration of attendance for the participants and the mechanism of the system of payment of health insurance to the hospital in the cooperation agreement (PKS). This study and writing use a normative and empirical approach by placing the laws relating to substances as the center of the study and descriptive methods intended to display all the data related to the substance. The data used are library data such as legal instruments, books, the Internet, and so on, as well as observations and interviews with relevant parties where the data is collected by performing descriptional analysis for results that show that there is a violation of the rights of health insurers in providing hospital facility services in connection with the limitation of treatment time by hospitals
Traditional House as Cultural Identity in the Modern Era in the Context of Osing Ethnography

Culture is social behavior through traditional values that are inherited in a distinctive form, including both material and immaterial manifestations. The Osing tribe has a long history. As a cultural identity, the Osing tribe is an indigenous Banyuwangi tribe that holds fast to the values of local wisdom. Osing arts, traditions and traditional houses are cultural units in Banyuwangi with local wisdom values contained therein. But modernization has become a scourge as an obstacle in facing the times, many local wisdoms are now starting to be abandoned on the grounds of more modern concepts, causing various problems such as the erosion of cultural values, identity, social dynamics, as well as lifestyle incompatibility. The role of society and institutions is so important, therefore in this modern era in order not to neglect the noble values as a culture owned by the nation, it is necessary to preserve it so that modern principles do not erode the values that become an identity. The ethnographic approach aims to explore and understand in depth the social picture of the community in the culture contained in the identity and traditional house of Osing.

By examining the evolution of market shares and the distribution of different powertrain types, such as battery electric vehicles (BEVs), this research uncovers significant regional disparities in EV adoption. The resulting study is in the form of describing social practices and interests in a text that is produced. The research used qualitative method with critical discourse analysis approach of Norman Fairclough model. The source of the research data is 1 piece of news text of the section Hamas Will Free 50 Israeli Citizens Held Hostage After Achieving a Humanitarian Pause in Gaza for Four Days obtained from the page www.jawapos.com. Data collection techniques are carried out by collecting data, condensing data, presenting, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study found a representation of clauses and a combination of clauses, then the Jawa Pos media which has become one of the largest news media with a circulation visited in the largest mass media in Indonesia which prioritizes and favors companies by having an International rubric, as well as socio-cultural links that prioritize humanity, especially women and children, and cannot be separated from the views of society and Pancasila
Balance Scorecard in Construction Services Companies
Get PDFThis research aims to find strategies to improve company performance and analyze strategies that PT Adhi Persada Gedung (APG) can use to enhance company performance. This is a qualitative research approach. Analysed use triangulation. The location of this research was carried out at a contractor company in Jakarta. This research uses free guided interview techniques. The informants for this research were six informants from financial perspectives, internal business processes, customers, and learning & growth, and six informants from customer perspectives (supporters). The research results show that PT Adhi Persada Gedung (APG) is trying to improve company performance by paying attention to revenue, employee performance, and customer satisfaction. PT APG is highly aware of financial asset management, customer satisfaction, and efficiency in internal processes. The strategies to improve company performance include increased revenue, customer care, emphasis on competitive prices, and employee performance. With an integrated approach, PT APG can achieve sustainable growth and remain competitive in the construction industry
