The Paradigm of Art Education and Assumptions About the Application of Thomas Aquinas' Aesthetic Theory in Indonesia
The general public's view or paradigm of arts education as a means to achieve commercialism and produce profit-oriented artists is not entirely wrong. However, in reality, arts education, in both formal and informal learning processes, greatly helps students to not only develop their skills but also cultivate their senses. The formation and cultivation of skills and sensibilities in arts education should also be supported by a clear concept of what materials are important and of high quality to be provided to students. The application of Thomas Aquinas' aesthetic theory, which includes: 1) wholeness or perfection, 2) balance or harmony, and 3) brilliance or clarity, is expected to change how art education should shape quality human beings and artists, and then help change the negative paradigm of the general public about art education in Indonesia

Management of At-Tartil Training of Trainers for Qur’an Tutors: A Case Study at BMQ At-Tartil, Sidoarjo
This article examines the management of the At-Tartil Training of Trainers (ToT) program at the Qur’an Literacy Foundation (BMQ At-Tartil) in Sidoarjo, Indonesia, with particular attention to its contribution in enhancing the professional competence of Qur’an tutors. Qur’an education plays a pivotal role in preserving the intellectual and spiritual foundations of Islamic civilization; however, the quality and distribution of Qur’an tutors remain uneven. The At-Tartil method, rooted in the Qur’anic injunction of tartīl (Qur’an, Surah al-Muzzammil: 4), emphasizes accurate recitation, pedagogical discipline, and spiritual engagement, making it a corrective alternative to contemporary pragmatic teaching models. This study employs a qualitative case study approach, drawing on interviews, observations, and institutional documents. Findings reveal that the management of ToT at BMQ At-Tartil comprises systematic stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up, with sustainability ensured through mentoring and supervision. The research highlights the novelty of the 9T framework—Tartīl, Tafaqquh, Tafkīr, Tadallul, Tadalluj, Tadbīr, Tashjīr, Tawarruq, and Tanẓīm—which integrates technical, managerial, and spiritual dimensions of tutor professionalism. The study contributes a holistic model for Qur’an tutor development, offering both theoretical insights and practical implications for Islamic education institutions seeking to strengthen Qur’an pedagogy and professional standards
The Role of Heredity in Moral Characteristics with Emphasis on from the Perspective of Islamic Sources
Human behavior is affected by various factors. Heredity, along with other factors such as education, environmental conditions, social factors are one of the main factors that shap human personality. The degree of influence of each of these elements is different. The present article with descriptive-analytical method, tries to analysis the contribution of heredity in the formation of personality with regard to religious texts. The result of the research shows that religious texts confirm the role of heredity in personality. At the same time, it should be noted that the contribution of this factor is not as high as other factors. According to the provisions of Islamic texts, although genetic characteristics have an effect on a person's personality and morals, their contribution is to the extent of creating the background and its role cannot be considered to the extent of the total cause. It should be noted that this influence does not lead to predestination because the greatest role in the formation of a person's personality depends on his choice and his free behavior because according to religious texts, man is a selective being and therefore responsible for his actions
Rereading Foundations of Muslim Retribution for the Infidel Dhimmi from the Perspective of Imami Jurisprudence
Qisas (retribution) is the counteraction of a deliberate crime against the physical integrity of a person. Although this type of punishment existed in various Abrahamic religions, its implementation in the criminal policy of Islam is subject to the fulfillment of conditions that make it different from other religions. One of the conditions is the equality of the criminal and the victim in religion. Although there is a different point of view among the jurists regarding this condition, the famous Imami jurists and most of the Sunni jurists believe in it. According to that, a Muslim is not retaliated for infidel Dhimmi by a crime. On the contrary, an infidel is retaliated for crime against a Muslim. This issue, which evokes a kind of religious discrimination, needs serious consideration. In the forthcoming research, the author explained and analyzed the foundations and documents of the famous view in a descriptive-analytical way and reached this conclusion. Because of the Incoming criticisms, their jurisprudential documents to prove their point of view are doubted. On the contrary, the documentation of the equality view in retribution between Muslim and infidel is predominant. The group of narrations that observes equality in retribution has priority over other categories in terms of issuing preference and implication preference, such as agreeing with the appearances of the retribution verses

Project-Based Learning Based on Multiple Intelligences Theory: Its Effectiveness Reviewed from Student Learning Achievement, Creative Thinking, and Curiosity
This study aims to test the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning based on the theory of multiple intelligences in terms of learning achievement, creative thinking, and curiosity. This study is a type of quasi-experimental research conducted in one class. The population in this study was grade VII junior high school students in Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. One class in the population was randomly selected as a sample. Data was collected using learning achievement test instruments, creative thinking skills, and student curiosity questionnaires. Project-based learning based on the theory of multiple intelligences is said to be effective if: (1) the average result of the student's mathematics learning achievement test reaches the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) set by the school, namely 75; (2) the average score of the student's creative thinking ability test is at least 70 (from a score range of 0-100); (3) the average score of the student's curiosity questionnaire after learning is higher than the average result before learning. Data analysis of learning achievement and creative thinking tests was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, while the student curiosity questionnaire was conducted using the paired t-test. The results of the study showed that (1) project-based learning based on multiple intelligences theory is effective in terms of learning achievement; (2) project-based learning based on multiple intelligences theory is effective in terms of creative thinking; (3) project-based learning based on multiple intelligences theory is effective in terms of student curiosity. Data from the sample showed an average learning achievement test result of 81 (from a score range of 0-100), then creative thinking as indicated by the average creative thinking ability test result of 76 (from a score range of 0-100) and an average student curiosity score at the end of learning of 85.26 (from a score range of 0-100) higher than the average student curiosity score at the beginning of learning of 56.93 (from a score range of 0-100)
Enhancing Critical Thinking Skills Through Instructional Strategies: A Systematic Review
The integration of critical thinking skills in instructional strategies often presents numerous challenges. Nevertheless, instructional methods are among the most effective ways to teach students how to think critically. However, due to limited literature on the subject, this topic has not been explored extensively. This research paper takes a closer look at prior studies on the integration of instructional methods that improve students' critical thinking skills. It also examines the potential outcomes of the analysed instructional methods and their future applications. This is a systematic literature review-based research, adopting the PICO framework to analyse relevant studies from 2013 to 2023. The results indicate that questioning, Socratic questioning, debate, and collaborative learning have all been utilized to improve students' critical thinking skills. Nonetheless, students encounter difficulties following the lesson due to their lack of language proficiency and instruction that is based on lower-order thinking skills. It is therefore crucial to consider students' backgrounds and learning preferences when exploring and implementing appropriate critical thinking-based instructional methods. The recommendations are not exclusive to themselves, but rather, can be applicable to each other
