Integration of Multiple Intelligences Theory in Project-Based Learning, How It Impacts on Students' Critical Thinking and Mathematical Communication Skills?
In this study, we aim to assess the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) based on Multiple Intelligences (MI) theory on students' critical thinking and mathematical communication skills. This research is a quasi-experiment using non-equivalent (pre-test and post-test) control-group design. The population in this study were VIII grade students in a public junior high school in Yogyakarta and two sample classes were selected based on recommendations from teachers and had mathematical abilities that could be considered equal. The experimental class applied PjBL based on MI theory and the control class applied PjBL learning. Data collection was conducted using a test instrument in the form of description questions. This instrument is valid and reliable. Learning is said to be effective if: (1) the mean test score of critical thinking and communication skills is at least 70 (from a score range of 0-100); (2) the mean of post-test of critical thinking and communication skills is higher than the mean of pre-test; (3) the mean final score of students' critical thinking and mathematical communication skills in the experimental class is higher than the control class. Data analysis used one-sample t-test, paired-sample t-test, and T2 Hotteling test. The results of the study using the significance level α = 5% showed that (1) PjBL learning based on MI theory is effective in terms of students' critical thinking and mathematical communication skills; (2) PjBL based on MI theory learning is more effective than PjBL learning in terms of communication, but not more effective in terms of critical thinking skills. Although the data from the sample showed the acquisition of mean scores and the increase in the mean value of critical thinking learning in PjBL based on MI theory was better than PjBL learning in terms of critical thinking skill, but statistically both did not show a significant difference
Analysis of Game Development Training Participants Satisfaction with 3D Unity at the Faculty of Visual Communication Design
This research aims to analyze the level of satisfaction of game development training participants with 3D Unity in higher education. Unity 3D is one of the important applications in the game development and visualization industry. Therefore, lecturers in the field of visual communication design should be able to use and apply this software. In order to improve the quality of learning, software use training is carried out internally. Quantitative descriptive method with 13 lecturers as participants. The training method is via zoom using lecture methods, demonstrations, use of software, direct practice. Training was carried out for 2 weeks via zoom class. Data collection uses a satisfaction scale with six statements which reveal the level of participant satisfaction with the quality of the training, the material taught, the training methodology, and the support provided by the instructor. The results of the study concluded that the level of participant satisfaction was in the satisfied category. Thus, it is necessary to develop collaborative training so that innovative games can be created by uniting the creative and programming worlds
Implementation of the Confiscation and Auction of Assets Convicted in the Jiwasraya Corruption Case to Recover State Losses
This research aims to examine one of the corruption cases at Asuransi Jiwasraya LLC which focuses on confiscating and auctioning the assets of convicts in recovering state losses. The method used in this research is a normative legal research method with a statute approach and a case approach. The results of this research show that in the corruption crime of Benny Tjokrosaputro Asuransi Jiwasraya LLC Number: 2937K/Pid.Sus/2021, the panel of judges handed down the decision to confiscate all properties along with the profits obtained by the convict from the criminal act. The confiscation of assets and auction of property is carried out based on applicable legal provisions as per the court decision. The obstacles experienced by the prosecutor's office in efforts to recover assets resulting from criminal acts of corruption include: assets from the criminal acts of corruption are obscured or transferred to other parties, assets or properties from the criminal acts of corruption are used up, assets from the criminal acts of corruption are in a position as collateral to other parties, and assets from the criminal acts of corruption have been transferred abroad
Exploration of Cultural Heritage for the Development of Kawasen Village as a Tourist Village in Ciamis District
This study aims to explore and identify cultural heritage in Kawasen Village, Ciamis Regency, West Java Province. Ciamis Regency has many historical heritages, but until now there are still many that have not been recorded and recorded by the Regional Government. Community-based tourism is one of the principles of sustainable development and local communities can be directly involved in tourism management in the village. A tourism village is a development that unites various attractions in, including natural, cultural, and artificial attractions supported by tourism attributes consisting of attractions, amenities, accessibility, and ancillaries. The research method uses descriptive qualitative methods, with inductive data analysis. This research has three stages, namely the cultural heritage tracing stage, the FGD stage and data analysis, and the third stage is making integrated tourism-based maps and reports. Under the leadership of the famous Mataram and became the center of government, Kawasen village experienced various polemics that led to rebellions, regional expansions, and leadership changes
The Effect of a Realistic Mathematics Education Approach with the Jigsaw Learning Model on Students' Creative Thinking Ability and Self-regulated Learning
This study aims to describe: (1) The effect of a Realistic Mathematics Education Approach with a Jigsaw Type Cooperative Learning Model on Students' Creative Thinking Abilities; (2) The effect of a Realistic Mathematics Education Approach with a Jigsaw Type Cooperative Learning Model on Students' Learning Independence; (3) The effect of a Realistic Mathematics Education Approach with a Jigsaw Type Cooperative Learning Model on Students' Creative Thinking Abilities and Self-regulated Learning. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest and posttest design. The population in this study were all class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Kota Bima for the 2023/2024 academic year, consisting of 10 classes. Two classes were randomly selected as the research sample, namely class VIII-2 as the experimental class I, which was treated with realistic mathematics education approach with a jigsaw type cooperative learning, and class VIII-3 as the experimental class II, which was given the realistic mathematics education approach. The instruments used to collect data were creative thinking ability tests and self-regulated learning questionnaires. The validity of the contents of the instrument was determined by asking for the assessment of two experts (expert judgment) who stated that the instrument was suitable for use after revision. The tests used were independent sample t-test and hottelling T2. The results of the study show: (1) Learning using realistic mathematics education approach with a jigsaw type cooperative learning model has a significant effect on students' creative thinking abilities; (2) Learning using a realistic mathematics education approach with a jigsaw type cooperative learning model has a significant effect on self-regulated learning; (3) Learning using a realistic mathematics education approach with a jigsaw type cooperative learning model has a significant effect on students' creative thinking abilities and self-regulated learning
Investigating the Conflicts of Bone Fracture Rules
Abstract The Islamic Penal Code, based on Imamiyyah jurisprudence, has included two rules of the rules for the payment of the bones; One is the rule that states the rule of breaking the bone of a member, and the other rule that states the rule of crushing the bone of a member has a fixed amount, by using them, a big step can be taken in the direction of facilitating the laws related to the issue of the amount, but the legislator for many reasons such as ambiguity In the case of fracture and numerous conflicts in the rules of bone fracture, it has not been able to take full advantage of all the rules of the diet and has turned to case orientation instead of the rules of the diet, and this has caused the accumulation of a large amount of legal materials of the diet. In order to assist the legislator in solving these limitations and conflicts, he helped to provide solutions and reduce the case orientation of the laws. Some of what was stated as a rule or theory about bone injuries are not eligible for the title of rule or theory, because sometimes there is no corresponding case for them, and in some cases, the allocation of the majority occurs, which is an ugly thing among most jurists. As a result, it is necessary to specifically state the ruling on compensation for each of the injuries in each of the bones, and refrain from stating the rules for which there is no documentation.
Feasibility Evaluation and Development of Educational Laboratories: Contribution to Institutional Development
This study aims to optimize the use of educational laboratories as a means of institutional development at the Faculty of Education, Surabaya State University. Using a development research approach with the ADDIE model, this research involved analyzing the needs of the institution, students, lecturers, and curriculum that must be met by the education laboratory. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation studies, then analyzed to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of the laboratory products developed. The results showed that the education laboratory at Faculty of Education has adequate facilities and infrastructure conditions, and the products developed are considered very feasible in supporting learning objectives. Attractive and interactive product design increases student engagement, while the use of appropriate language in the product strengthens the effectiveness of material communication. Overall, the optimization of educational laboratories is proven to not only support the achievement of learning objectives, but also strengthen the institution's reputation in providing relevant and quality education. Continuous evaluation is recommended to ensure the educational laboratory remains adaptive to evolving needs
Interdisciplinary: Collaborative Art and Science to Create Artworks and Understand the Environment
This paper delves into interdisciplinary approaches to the creation of artwork by integrating two distinct scientific elements. Exploring the challenges and opportunities inherent in the creative process necessitates collaborative thinking between the realms of art and science. Despite often being regarded as separate domains, in reality, art and science can be intertwined in numerous contexts. Narratively, this paper seeks to provide a concise overview of the concept of generating artworks by amalgamating two scientific elements. Through case analysis and a review of the existing literature, various issues that may arise can be identified. The fusion of art and science plays a pivotal role in addressing the increasingly pressing concerns of the environment and climate change, with the aim of producing works that elicit empathy and inspire action. The "Human/Nature" exhibition serves as a concrete illustration of how art and science can collaborate to communicate messages about the urgency of climate change. In this exhibition, art facilitates the connection between environmental issues and personal emotions and experiences, enabling society to feel its impact more profoundly. Conversely, science provides a robust scientific foundation and data that underpin the comprehension of climate change, affirming that art serves not only as a form of expression but also as a catalyst for positive social change
The Dynamics of Ethnicity, Conflict and Integration in Multicultural Life in Denpasar
This research aims to find out the dynamics of multicultural community practices in Bali, especially in Padang Indah Hamlet, Padang Sambian Klod Village, which is also expected to be a "lesson learned" for the lives of multicultural communities in other hamlets in Bali. In addition to strengthening the social and cultural capital of the community not only in the current multicultural community life but for the future in a sustainable manner. The research method used is a qualitative method with an archaeology of knowledge method with a cultural studies approach. The theory used is from Michael Foucoult dominasi and hegemony from Antonio Gramcy and the concept of multiculture from Alf Minzel. Data were obtained from document studies, observation and in-depth interviews with 20 residents of Padang Indah. The results show that the creation of this new hamlet cannot be separated from the deconstruction and reconstruction of experiences owned by members or residents who do inhabit the area. Hegemony and domination take place in Padang Indah Hamlet as can be seen in the socio-cultural aspects appear to be eliminated by the emergence of awareness to maintain traditions, values, norms that exist in a diverse society and the existence of people in Padang Indah Hamlet who have changed from a plural society to a multicultural society
Exploring Digital Multimodal Composing in English Writing: A Conceptual Paper
The most recent technologies have assisted educators in simplifying the process of teaching and learning; for example, they have expanded the writing course into an activity that is no longer restricted to the combination of words, phrases, and sentences to express the meaning in place of collaborating audio, video, and web-based elements in teaching-learning, which are all considered to be examples of digital technology. In particular, this conceptual paper focuses on the nature of multimodal digital composition, how digital multimodal is utilized in the teaching and learning processes of writing as well as the challenge and its solutions. Initially, a definition of what precisely digital composing is will be provided. The researcher conducts an in-depth investigation of recent studies on multimodal digital composition (MDC) and the function of multimodal digital composition (MDC) in improving comprehension and enhancing acquisition. Furthermore, pedagogical implementations are explored, in which the researcher outlines a multimodal digital composition (MDC) process that language teachers might utilize as a guide for the teaching-learning process of writing. A discussion of pedagogical implications follows this section. In conclusion, the obstacles and potential remedies leading to a deeper understanding are examined
