Legal regulations on personal data in Indonesia have not been able to provide protection for personal data, because there is no law that specifically regulates the protection of personal data. Although several other laws and regulations mention the protection of personal data, this is still not in accordance with the principles of personal data protection that apply internationally. The formulation of the problem in this study is howPersonal Data Protection as Fulfillment of the Right to Privacy, howLegal Relationship of Mobile Telecommunication Service Users with Providers, What is the Provider's Responsibility for the Personal Data of Service Users Regarding the Event of Mobile Telecommunication Service Customer Card Registration. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data sources obtained from related laws, books, journals. The results of this study are (1) The Government based on the PERMENKOMINFO Regarding SIM Card Registration, the Indonesian Government issued a policy regarding the obligation of SIM Card owners to be registered with operators to submit NIK and KK Numbers, which according to the Population Administration Law are both personal data of residents that must be protected by the Government. (2) legal relationship between providers and service users. In the event of mobile telecommunication service customer card registration, there is an agreement that is born from the agreement of the parties, in this case the provider and service user. The provider as the organizer of telecommunication services in this case is the party that makes it, while consumers only agree and follow the provisions that have been agreed upon. (3)Personal data protection is a fundamental right for every citizen that should be guaranteed by the state because basically protection of personal data is the fulfillment of the right to privacy of every citizen. Regarding the implementation of telecommunications by the state involving service providers or in this case providers as business actors who provide their services in the form of cellular telecommunications networks that also have the authority to collect personal data of service users, of course, have a very important role in protecting personal data of service users

    Get PDF
This research discusses the application of the theory of negatief wettelijke by judges in narcotics-related criminal cases, with a focus on the protection of Human Rights (HR). The research adopts a normative juridical approach, which is a legal research method that examines written law from various perspectives. This approach analyzes legal issues based on normative rules in relation to the existing societal context. The study looks at cases in society involving narcotics offenses, in connection with Law Number 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, as well as the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) within the criminal justice system in Indonesia. The application of the theory of negatief wettelijke in narcotics offenses, as implemented by judges in the Indonesian criminal justice system, is reflected in several narcotics cases. In these cases, judges, when deciding narcotics-related criminal matters, do not solely rely on the evidence presented in court but also apply their personal convictions after considering the facts revealed during the trial process. As a result, judges also take into account the protection of Human Rights (HR) for the defendant in narcotics criminal cases when delivering their verdicts

Analysis of the Application of the Technique of Waqf and Ibtida in Contemporary Translations of the Holy Quran (Case Study of Surah Anam)

    Get PDF
Contemporary translators of the Holy Quran have utilized Sajavandi waqf signs to better understand and interpret God's intentions within the sacred text. It is important to note that Sajavandi waqf signs are not part of the original Quranic punctuation but were introduced by Sajavandi in the 6th century AH. Contemporary translators can interpret Quranic verses without solely relying on Sajavandi's waqf signs by referring to the verses' structure, the infallible Imams' narrations, and literary and linguistic scholars' works. However, employing waqf (stop) and ibtida (start) as complementary reliable tools can protect translators from errors and provide an easier, more secure path for accurate Quran translation. This research uses a descriptive-analytical method through a case study in Surah An'am to answer the question of how contemporary translators of the Quran have been influenced by the Sajavandi waqf signs. Investigations show that signs such as "م" (M), "لا" (Lā), "ج" (J), "ز" (Z), and "ط" (Ṭ) have been placed in Quranic manuscripts as waqf and ibtida signs. Contemporary translators of the Holy Quran have indirectly applied these signs in their translations. In cases where waqf should be used, they have respected it, and where both waqf and wasl (continuation) are permissible, they have translated selectively, treating the verse as a continuous text where waqf is not required

This research explores the role of structured theological education in the rehabilitation of inmates in correctional institutions in Indonesia using a mixed methods design to determine the impact of a Bible college program implemented in five correctional facility locations between 2021 and 2023. This study investigates how a curriculum focused on forgiveness, self-acceptance, and purpose influenced participants' psychological and spiritual development. Quantitative data was collected through surveys before and after the program, measuring changes in attitudes toward forgiveness, self-esteem, and outlook on the future. Data were analyzed using SPSS. Qualitative insights were gained from semi-structured interviews with 50 program graduates and follow-up interviews with 25 released prisoners, as well as observational data from classroom sessions. The results showed significant increases in participants' self-acceptance and life purpose indicating that the program fosters traits important for personal growth and social reintegration. Participants reported a transformation from a victim-centered mindset to a responsible and service mindset with 72% engaging in community work or service post-release. These results highlight the effectiveness of faith-based education in correctional contexts, especially in culturally diverse environments such as Indonesia. This study contributes to a broader understanding of how structured theological programs can reduce recidivism and facilitate lasting spiritual and psychological healing and support a balanced approach to justice that focuses on correction and redemption

    Get PDF
Within some discourse communities, academics now primarily disseminate academic information through research articles (RAs). For inexperienced authors, especially those who do not speak English as their first language, producing a research article suitable for publishing in an academic journal might be difficult. The ultimate purpose of this pedagogically driven project was to give ESL/EFL postgraduate students in financial-economic sciences the foundation for a genre approach to academic writing. In line with a genre-based perspective, the study examined the rhetorical structure of English language RAs—Abstract—sections that were published in international journals in the financial-economic sciences. First, RA move structures were determined using Swales' (2004) genre-based approach. The current study's findings shed light on the significance of RAs' knowledge of genre norms and their use of rhetorical structure. This knowledge may make it easier for new authors and graduate students to produce research articles that will be published. The current study investigates the educational effects of a syllabus that combines the results of the two research approaches
