A Comparative Study of Human Creation and the Continuation of Progeny with an Emphasis on the Concept of 'Nafs Wahida' in the Quran and the Bible

The creation of humankind has always been a fundamental topic in religious texts, with "Nafs Wahida" (a single soul) being one of the key concepts in this regard. This study, employing a comparative approach and content analysis method, examines the perspectives of the Qur’an, the Torah, and the Gospels on the creation of humans and the concept of "Nafs Wahida." The primary objective of this research is to conduct an in-depth analysis of the sacred texts of the Abrahamic religions (Islam, Judaism, and Christianity) to identify the similarities and differences in their interpretations of human creation, the position of men and women, and the semantics of "Nafs Wahida." The Qur’an, in four verses (Surah An-Nisa 4:1, Al-An’am 6:98, Al-A’raf 7:189, and Az-Zumar 39:6), introduces "Nafs Wahida" as the origin of human creation, indicating the unity of human origin and the commonality of all humankind in a single fundamental essence. This perspective emphasizes the equality of men and women in creation and affirms that both were brought into existence from the same essential source. In contrast, the Torah portrays Adam as a male individual and the representative of humankind, stating that Eve was created from one of his ribs. This suggests a lower status for women compared to men in this sacred text. Likewise, the Gospels reference the creation story but emphasize that Eve was created for Adam rather than vice versa. These texts present various theories regarding Eve’s creation, including the creation of Eve from Adam’s rib, the creation of Eve from the remaining clay of Adam’s formation, and the theory of the first human being as an androgynous entity. The findings of this study reveal that while the Qur’an underscores the creation of both men and women from a single essence, the Torah and the Gospels offer differing perspectives on the distinct creation of men and women. Nonetheless, all these texts affirm the unity of human origin and the complementary role of men and women in the continuation of human lineage

This study aims to analyze the legal politics of corruption crimes from the perspective of administrative law. It employs a normative approach to examine relevant legal texts and the changes occurring over time. A deductive analytical method is used by applying legal principles and doctrines related to corruption crimes, utilizing the lens of administrative law, and incorporating minor premises in the form of existing legal facts or events. The main findings of this study reveal that the legal politics of corruption crimes, viewed from the perspective of administrative law, encompass three aspects: philosophical, juridical, and sociological. Philosophically, corruption must be combated to uphold justice, public interest, and morality in public administration. Sociologically, corruption arises from social interactions and disparities within society and power structures. Legal politics should establish systems that minimize opportunities for corruption. Juridically, in the context of administrative law, corruption is regulated under positive law, and law enforcement must include criminal sanctions as well as efforts to recover state losses

Religion serves as the cornerstone of our belief system, shaping our values, guiding our moral compass, and providing a framework for understanding the mysteries of our existence. It offers a sense of purpose in our life, community we live in, and connection to something greater than ourselves, influencing how we perceive the world and our place within it. Furthermore, Rituals are integral to every religion that we perform, serving as expressions of faith, devotion, and connection to the divine. Every religion encompasses specific rituals that followers are expected to perform and practice. Although specific forms and purposes vary in every religion, many rituals share common themes across religions, such as prayer, fasting, sacrifices, offerings, and pilgrimage.  Every ritual is essential to carry out, and carries symbolic significance to our beliefs. Some of the common rituals of every religion are Prayer, fasting, offerings and going on Pilgrimage. These rituals not only reinforce religious beliefs but also foster a sense of community and spiritual transformation among practitioners. This paper aims to study, explore, and uncover the significance of movement within the pilgrimage process, which begins with stepping out of one’s comfort zone, leaving the familiarity of home, and embarking on a challenging path toward a sacred destination. The pilgrim had a profound experience of exploration and immersion in spirituality. This transformative process culminates in returning home, a step that has often been overlooked and remains largely unexplored in scholarly discussions. However, the act of returning is equally vital, as it provides an opportunity for introspection. It allows pilgrims to reflect on their personal growth, internalize the lessons learned during the journey, and integrate their transformed perspective into everyday life. This final step is crucial for sustaining spiritual and philosophical changes acquired through the pilgrimage experience

Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) hold a strategic position within the socio-political landscape of Ponorogo Regency, serving as vital pillars of local wisdom. Their potential contribution to public policymaking, particularly in the formulation of regional regulations concerning religious education, remains significant yet underutilized. This study investigates the extent and quality of pesantren participation in local legislative processes, with a focus on the principles of meaningful participation and the integration of Islamic values in policymaking. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with religious leaders, pesantren administrators, and members of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) in Ponorogo. Full text link
The architecture of modern research methodologies can take shape as a computational approach, interacting with artificial intelligence. This involves a collaborative inquiry into a specific issue in which the level of intelligence demonstrated by natural language processing (NLP) models is evaluated. This study addresses the issue of human free will in the Qur'an and evaluates the theological intelligence and capabilities of ChatGPT-4.5 across four distinct models and levels. These levels are as follows: Linguistic Layer (LIL): At this level, key terms such as free will, human will, decision, determinism, and divine will are identified and analyzed. A statistical examination of the frequency and distribution of these terms and their related concepts in the Qur’anic text is conducted. Conceptual Layer (COL): In this layer, related concepts of human and divine will are explored, and a semantic network is mapped. Analytical Layer (ANL): Here, AI analyzes the tensions and contrasts between divine determinism and human free will, providing an intertextual resolution. Systemic Layer (SYL): The final layer designs an interaction model that clarifies and resolves the reciprocal relations, leading to a comprehensive and applicable understanding of the relationship between human free will and divine will. Methodologically, the study uses a digital library as its source base and computational prompting techniques to engage the language model. The content is structured within the emerging field of Computational Theology, which encodes theological problems for systematic investigation. The findings indicate that ChatGPT-4.5 demonstrates a high level of accuracy in analyzing the question of free will in the Qur’anic context
