    PENINGKATAN PROSES PEMBELAJARAN DAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA MELALUI PENERAPAN METODE EKSPERIMEN PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPA MATERI TEKANAN KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 7 BATANGHARI

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan proses belajar mengajar siswa melalui penerapan metode eksperimen pada materi tekanan dalam pembelaran IPA Kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 7Batang Hari dan untuk mengetahui peningkatan  hasil belajar  siswa dengan penerapan metode eksperimen pada meteri tekanan  pada pembelajaran IPA kelas VIII di SMP Negeri7 Batang Hari. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga siklus yaitu siklus I, II, III. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh data rata-rata hasil hasil belajar siswa pada siklus 1 adalah 70,00 dan pada siklus 2 adalah 74,17 serta pada siklus 3 adalah 81,25. Rata-rata hasil observasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada siklus 1 adalah 71,15 dan pada siklus 2 adalah 80,77 serta pada siklus 3 adalah 92,31. SimpulanPenelitian penerapan metode eksperimen pada meteri tekanan  dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar  siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 7 Batang Hari. Ada peningkatan proses belajar mengajar siswa melalui penerapan metode eksperimen pada materi tekanan dalam pembelaran IPA Kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 7  Batang Hari

    Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah melalui metode eksperimen dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA pada peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri No. 87/ IX Kunangan.Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian tindakan kelas dapat didefinisikan sebagai bentuk penelaahan penelitian yang bersifat reflektif dengan melakukan tindakan-tindakan tertentu agar dapat memperbaiki dan/atau meningkatkan praktik-praktik pembelajaran di kelas secara lebih profesional”. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa Metode eksperimen dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar belajar siswa kelas V SD Negeri No. 87/ IX Kunangan pada materi ajar panas dan perpindahannya. Peningkatan hasil belajar diperoleh dari hasil tes tindakan setiap siklus, dimana siklus I mencapai 65,00 %, dan siklus II mencapai 90,86 % Metode eksperimen  sudah terlaksana sesuai dengan skenario pembelajaran di kelas V SD Negeri No. 87/ IX Kunangan. Keterlaksanaan dari siklus I mencapai rata-rata sebesar 65,00 %,  dan siklus II mencapai rata-rata sebesar 90,86 %.&nbsp

    THE USE OF MIND MAPPING STRATEGY TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ ABILITY IN WRITING PROCEDURE TEXT (An Action Research at the tenth grade of SMKN 6 of Jambi City)

    The research focuses on the use of mind mapping strategy to improve students’ ability in writing procedure text. The purposes of this research were to give description about how mind mapping strategy could be applied in teaching learning writing procedure text. The research design was an action research which consists of four meetings, and it was done through sequence of cycles. The students were given some treatments and writing tests in order to obtain a description about students’ ability in writing procedure text. The research conducted in January 23rd, 2019 until February 13rd, 2019. The sample of the research was class X PH in the academic year of 2018/2019 in SMKN 6 of Jambi City. It was chosen because of recommendation from English teacher about unsatisfying result of the students’ writing aspect. Based on the English teacher’s statement, the students’ achievement in writing aspect of the procedure text as material at first semester was good enough. However, they still needed a new strategy or teaching learning strategy to maximize their achievement in producing procedure text. There were fourteen students in this class and three kinds of writing test in this research. They were pre-test, writing test in cycle 2 and post- test which were given in the last meeting. Besides, observation checklist and questionnaire were given to support the primary data. The mean of the pre-test was 57.78, the mean of the writing test in second cycle was 63.214, and the mean of the post test was 80.681. By comparing the result of the three tests, might be concluded that mind mapping strategy could give better achievement for the students in producing procedure text. The analysis of the questionnaire and observation also supported the fact that mind mapping strategy was appropriate to be implemented in teaching learning writing procedure text. Besides, Mind mapping strategy could be applied not only in writing procedure text, but also other texts which were taught both in senior and junior high school. Teacher as a facilitator in teaching learning activity should be able to explain materials using appropriate media or teaching strategy so that the students weren’t bored with conventional strategy. The researcher suggested that English teacher must understand the students’ characteristic before teaching learning activity conducted. Moreover, they should be creative and innovative to create enjoyable teaching and learning process to make students motivated in writing activity

    INTRINSIC AND EXTRINSIC STUDENT’S MOTIVATION IN ENGLISH SPEECH CONTEST IN SMPN 3 BATANG HARI

    This research is based on students’ motivation to participate an English speech competition. This research aims at knowing students’ motivation to participate an English speech competition II at SMPN 3 Batang Hari in 2017/2018 academic year. This research is action class with qualitative presentation which describes students’ motivation to participate an English speech competition II at SMPN 3 Batang Hari. Informants in this research were all students that participated an English speech competition II that consisted 25 participants trough snowball sampling. Instrument used in this research was interview. Interview was used to get the data about students’ motivation to participate an English speech competition II that registered in 2017/2018 academic year. Result of this research shows that there two kinds of motivation that students participate an English speech competition; intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation is divided into 6 types, namely: 1)   the need for self-confidence to speak in public; 2) the need for practicing English in order to improve English and to pronounce English well; 3) the need for measuring English speaking ability compete to others participants; 4) the need for showing that nonEnglish students are able to speak English; 5) the need for happiness that can be participant an English speech competition; 6) the need for having relationship with other participants. Furthermore, extrinsic motivation can be divided into 5 types, namely: 1) the need for getting rewards; 2) the need for supporting by others; 3) the need for a test; 4) the need for winning and competing other participants; 5) the need for getting experience. Dealing with students’ motivation above, it can be said that “the need for self-confidence to speak in public” is the most dominant (30.8 %) of students’ motivation to participate the English speech competition

    A STUDY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENGLISH PARAGRAPHS IN WRITING ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAYS AT SMKN 1 BATANG HARI

    This research was conducted based on problems related to the poor ability of students in writing argumentative essays in English at SMKN 1 Batang Hari. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of students to write paragraphs of argumentative essay development. This research is descriptive research. This research instrument uses writing assignments. The study population was class XII students of SMKN 1 Batang Hari. By using cluster random sampling, researchers took one class as a sample of this study. From the research findings, it was found that students' abilities in writing argumentative essays were low. The most common mistake made by students is in using evidence and writing the exact sentence. It can be concluded that students still have difficulty writing good sentences based on grammar rules. They also don't know how to write good conclusion paragraphs from argumentative essays

    PENINGKATAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR MELALUI BUKU LKS MATEMATIKA PADA SISWA SMPN 3 BATANG HARI

    Motivation is one of the factors that can be influenced the learning outcomes. Motivation of class VIII students of Batang Hari Junior High School 3 in the mathematics learning process is still low. It can be seen when students do the exercises before being given the students worksheet book (conventional cycle). The book used is still difficult to understand, both in terms of language and the questions lists that are not yet in accordance with the cognitive level of class VIII students of Batang Hari Junior High School 3. In addition, the source book has also not been able to construct students' initial knowledge. In the second cycle students are given math training in using LKS (students work sheet) . The purpose of this study was to determine the motivation of students after using workbooks (LKS) based on mathematics constructivism. This type of research is quantitative descriptive by distributing motivation questionnaires to students. The questionnaire analysis showed that the learning motivation of students by using constructivism-based Mathematics LKS was high, it is > 60

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui : (1) aktivitas belajar siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika dan (2) hasil belajar siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Penelitian ini tergolong dalam jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas XII PM 1 SMK Negeri 1 Batanghari tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut : (1) Ketuntasan belajar siswa sebelum adanya tindakan sebesar 34,28% kemudian meningkat di akhir tindakan atau siklus 3 menjadi 94,28%. (2) Keingginan siswa untuk menyakan materi yang belum tuntas juga mengalami peningkatan mulai dari sebelum diberi tindakan sampai pada tahap akhir tindakan yaitu siklus 3 sebesar 62,85%. (3) Keaktifan siswa dalam menganggapi pendapat siswa lain dalam diskusi kelompok juga sudah baik dimana pada akhir tindakan sebanyak 25 orang siswa (71,4%) sudah berani mengemukakan pendapatnya dalam diskusi. (4) Antusias siswa mengerjakan soal sebelum tindakan yaitu 42,85% meningkat di akhir tindakan mencapai 85,71%

    Pembelajaran inkuiri biasa disebut dengan pembelajaran penemuan. Pembelajaran inkuiri membuat siswa untuk bisa mencari dan menyelidiki suatu masalah dengan cara sistematis, kritis, logis dan dianalisis dengan baik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini: (1) Untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran inkuiri. (2) Untuk mengetahui peningkatan aktivitas proses pembelajaran matematika siswa dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran inkuiri. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan di SMAN 3 Kota Jambi, Jambi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XII MIA tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 36 orang. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 siklus yaitu siklus I terdiri dari 3 pertemuan dan siklus II terdiri dari 3 pertemuan. Tes kemampuan kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa dilakukan di awal dan akhir setiap siklus. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini dapat dilihat dari: (1) Hasil tes ulangan kemampuan matematika siswa siklus I diketahui nilai rata-rata 75,60, tuntas 25 orang, tidak tuntas 11 orang, persentase ketuntasan minimal 69%. (2) Hasil tes ulangan kemampuan matematika siswa siklus II diketahui nilai rata-rata 85,70, tuntas 34 orang, tidak tuntas 2 orang, ketuntasan klasikal 94%, dan peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa naik 10,1 poin. (3) Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran inkuiri membuat aktivitas siswa berkategori baik dalam pembelajaran

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk, mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa setelah diterapkannya pembelajaran demontrasi, dan mengetahui pengaruh motivasi belajar siswa setelah diterapkan pembelajaran dengan metode demonstrasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan (action research) sebanyak dua siklus pembelajaran. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu: rancangan, kegiatan dan pengamatan, refleksi, dan refisi. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah siswa Kelas IV SDN 140/I Sungai Lais. Data yang diperoleh berupa hasil tes formatif, lembar observasi kegiatan belajar mengajar. Dari hasil analis didapatkan bahwa prestasi belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I sampai siklus II yaitu, siklus I (54,17%), siklus II (83,33%). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah metode pembelajaran demontrasi dapat berpengaruh positif terhadap motivasi belajar Siswa SDN 140/I Sungai Lais, serta model pembelajaran ini dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif pembelajaran MTK
