Society in Public Service: Challenges Service Recording Marriage in Indonesia
Marriage registration is a fundamental legal process that ensures the protection of marital rights and administrative recognition. However, many married couples have yet to obtain official marriage certificates, particularly in Bengkulu City, Indonesia. This study aims to identify the factors influencing community participation in marriage registration. Using a descriptive qualitative research method, this research explores societal attitudes and administrative challenges associated with the registration process. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving key informants, including married couples, religious figures, and government officials. A content analysis technique was employed to interpret the findings systematically. The results indicate that low public awareness and limited legal knowledge are the primary factors contributing to the reluctance to register marriages with the civil registry. Many couples believe that religious marriage alone is sufficient and are unaware of the legal consequences of unregistered marriages, such as complications in inheritance, child legitimacy, and access to state services. Additionally, a lack of government-led awareness campaigns and inadequate public outreach efforts have exacerbated the issue, leaving many couples uninformed about the registration process and its legal significance. This study highlights the urgent need for enhanced legal literacy, targeted socialization efforts, and administrative reforms to improve marriage registration rates. Strengthening collaboration between government agencies, religious institutions, and community organizations is crucial to increasing public participation. These findings contribute to the broader discourse on public administration and legal compliance in non-Western governance systems, emphasizing the role of community-driven legal awareness in enhancing civic engagement. Further research is recommended to explore marriage registration challenges across different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds to develop more inclusive and effective policy interventions
Public Service-Based Community: Study Case Integrated Health Service for Elderly in an Indonesian Village Level
This study aims to analyze the role of Posyandu Elderly cadres in improving the quality of life of the elderly in Jambangan Village, with a focus on education, information dissemination, assistance, and health monitoring. This research is important because the quality of life of the elderly is greatly influenced by the health services they receive. Good support from Posyandu cadres can help the elderly maintain their health and well-being, and overcome barriers to health services in the community. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, conclusion/verification, and data presentation. The results showed that the role of cadres in education had gone well, but the face-to-face lecture method tended to be monotonous and less interesting, so that some elderly people had difficulty understanding the material. Information dissemination also faces challenges in reaching all elderly people, and sometimes there is miscommunication between cadres and midwives. In health assistance, the limited number of cadres has an impact on suboptimal data recording. Meanwhile, health monitoring has been done well through home visits, but the manual reporting system and lack of technology utilization hamper efficiency

DM sufferers and health cadres and farmer cadres as partners have been facilitated through examinations, training/assistance in production related to the management of jasekeh capsules, and evaluation in the form of home care. The team assisted in preparing the basic ingredients and equipment for processing jasekeh capsules by formulating 3 basic ingredients, namely ginger, lemongrass and cloves (LemGinClov) which are safe and have a good taste, conducting examinations on groups of dm sufferers and training partner groups in producing herbal capsules with a composition of ginger, lemongrass and cloves, conducting counseling related to DM, processing herbal medicinal plants, assisting in the preparation of electronic bookkeeping, and digital marketing. The specific targets that have been achieved from this community service activity are the application of science and technology through socialization related to dm, knowledge and skills in making jasekeh herbal capsules whose ingredients are taken from their own yards and being able to apply financial management and marketing strategies obtained in training. The results of the activities obtained in the community service are an increase in knowledge and skills of partners in managing plants into herbal plants. Furthermore, one of the factors causing conflict in Tatsuro\u27s character is Tatsuro\u27s pity for Shiraishi, who is still a teenager, so he covers up the murder of Haitani committed by Shiraishi. The overall conflict that occurs in the main character has a significant influence on the formation of the plot and other elements in the story
