PERLAWANAN TERHADAP STIGMA DALAM LA PETITE FADETTE KARYA GEORGE SAND
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi hubungan antar tokoh yang menghasilkan stigma dan pengelompokkan stigma serta upayanya untuk melakukan perlawanan stigma dalam Novel La Petite Fadette karya George Sand. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi faktor yang menyebabkan stigma muncul, pengelompokkan stigma, dan bentuk perlawanan stigma. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kalimat – kalimat yang terdapat dalam Novel La Petite Fadette karya George Sand. Adapun landasan teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Stigma dari Erving Goffman, Scheid, dan Brown. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang dilakukan mengenai perlawanan terhadap stigma dalam Novel La Petite Fadette karya George Sand, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Stigma terbentuk karena kurangnya pendidikan atau edukasi serta kesadaran yang diperlukan oleh setiap masyarakat. Stigma juga dikelompokkan menjadi 4 (empat), yaitu : fisik dan sosial, labelling, stereotip, dan diskriminasi. Upaya perlawanan stigma yang dilakukan bergantung pada proses dan perubahan secara signifikan untuk mengubah stereotip setiap masyarakat ke arah lebih positif
Port Management Integration in Government Strategy to Address the Impact of the United States’ Reciprocal Tariff Policy on National Export Competitiveness
The reciprocal tariff policy implemented by the United States toward its trading partners, including Indonesia, has exerted significant pressure on the competitiveness of Indonesia’s exports. Key sectors such as textiles, agriculture, and light manufacturing have been among the most affected. In this context, logistics efficiency, particularly port management as a strategic node in the export supply chain play a pivotal role. This study aims to analyze the impact of such tariff policies on Indonesia’s export performance, identify structural challenges in port management, and formulate strategies for integrating port governance into national policy frameworks to enhance export competitiveness. Employing a qualitative approach, this research utilizes data collection techniques including document analysis and in-depth interviews with stakeholders in the port, logistics, and trade sectors. The findings indicate that tariff barriers undermine export competitiveness, and inefficiencies in the port system driven by poor inter-agency coordination, infrastructural disparities, and fragmented logistics policies emerge as critical constraints. The study underscores the importance of an adaptive, collaborative, and nationally coordinated port management strategy to bolster Indonesia’s response to the growing pressures of global protectionism. It highlights the urgent need for comprehensive reform in port governance to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the international export market
The Role of the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) in Managing Ethnic Violence in South Sudan\u27s Civil Conflict
South Sudan became independent from Sudan in 2011 after a long history of ethnic and political conflict. Despite being rich in oil resources, the country continues to be caught in turmoil and violence fueled by ethnic strife, particularly between the Dinka group led by President Kiir and the Nuer group led by former Vice President Machar. Peace agreements signed in 2015 and 2018 failed to stop the violence. This has led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and millions of refugees. The UN\u27s implementation of the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) faces various financial, logistical, and immature understanding of the peace process. Regardless of international efforts, the situation in South Sudan remains fragile, and R2P implementation requires a more comprehensive and adaptive strategy. Therefore, the author seeks to analyze the implementation of R2P in the South Sudan conflict by considering the concept of international organization and Responsibility to Protect (R2P). The author employs a qualitative research method with a descriptive and analytical approach to this article
From Centralization to Citizen Empowerment: Advancing Environmental Democracy in Fiji
This study examines Fiji’s intricate governance landscape, a product of its colonial past, military interventions, and subsequent constitutional reforms, which have collectively fostered a highly centralized political system. By critically analyzing the evolution of Fiji’s political structures alongside the case study of FIJI Water, the research highlights significant tensions between national unity efforts and the preservation of traditional indigenous governance. The study employs qualitative methodologies, drawing on extensive secondary data from academic literature, government documents, and media reports to assess the implications of centralized authority on democratic participation and environmental policy. Findings reveal that while recent reforms have sought to eliminate ethnic-based representation and promote a unified national identity, they have also marginalized traditional institutions and limited public accountability. In parallel, the FIJI Water controversy illustrates the broader conflict between corporate interests and the sustainable management of natural resources, as local communities continue to face challenges in accessing clean water despite the country’s global brand image. The analysis underscores the urgent need for legal reforms—such as enforcing Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) and decentralizing governance structures—to empower indigenous groups and strengthen public participation in environmental decision-making. Ultimately, the study argues that a recalibrated governance model, which integrates environmental democracy with political reforms, is essential for ensuring sustainable development and upholding human rights in Fiji
Membatasi kewenangan membentuk peraturan perundang-undangan presiden: Studi perbandingan negara Amerika Serikat: LIMITING THE AUTHORITY TO FORM PRESIDENTIAL LEGISLATION: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE UNITED STATES
This study examines the limitation of the President’s legislative authority within Indonesia’s presidential system. Using a normative legal approach through conceptual, statutory, and comparative analysis, the research highlights the President’s dominant role in lawmaking with the House of Representatives, including the power to issue Laws, Government Regulations in Lieu of Law (Perppu), Government Regulations, and Presidential Regulations. This dominance risks weakening the separation of powers and leading to a hyper-presidential system. By comparison, the United States’ presidential model grants full legislative authority to Congress, while the President is limited to administrative powers through executive orders. This study recommends reducing the Indonesian President’s legislative authority, restricting it to implementing regulations, thereby promoting a purer and more balanced presidential system. Learning from the U.S. practice may strengthen Indonesia’s constitutional framework by reinforcing the boundaries between legislative and executive powers. Ultimately, this reform aims to restore the function of each branch in accordance with the principle of checks and balances.Penelitian ini membahas pembatasan kewenangan legislatif Presiden dalam sistem presidensial Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan hukum normatif yang mencakup perspektif konseptual, perundang-undangan, dan perbandingan, studi ini menyoroti peran penting Presiden dalam pembentukan hukum bersama DPR. Pembatasan diperlukan karena Presiden memiliki kewenangan untuk menerbitkan berbagai produk hukum, seperti Undang-Undang (UU), Peraturan Pemerintah Pengganti Undang-Undang (Perppu), Peraturan Pemerintah (PP), dan Peraturan Presiden (Perpres). Sementara itu, model Amerika Serikat membatasi peran Presiden dalam legislasi dan memberikan kewenangan penuh kepada Congress. Indonesia dapat belajar dari sistem ini untuk memastikan pemisahan kekuasaan yang lebih tegas dan mencegah pengaruh eksekutif yang berlebihan dalam proses pembentukan hukum
Pelatihan Diversifikasi Olahan Rumput Laut untuk Peningkatan Keterampilan Poklahsar di Kelurahan Takalar, Sulawesi Selatan
Indonesia memiliki potensi besar dalam budidaya rumput laut, khususnya di Sulawesi Selatan yang merupakan salah satu sentra produksi utama. Namun, pemanfaatan potensi ini masih terbatas pada penjualan bahan mentah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan Kelompok Pengolah dan Pemasar (Poklahsar) di Kelurahan Takalar dalam mengolah rumput laut menjadi mi dan nugget sebagai produk bernilai tambah. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pelatihan teknik diversifikasi olahan. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam keterampilan peserta, diikuti dengan kemampuan mereka menghasilkan produk mi dan nugget berbasis rumput laut. Dampak positif Program ini tidak hanya memberikan dampak ekonomi, tetapi juga memperkuat kesadaran peserta akan pentingnya inovasi dalam pemanfaatan rumput laut. Disarankan agar pendampingan lanjutan dilakukan untuk memastikan keberlanjutan usaha kelompok
Overview of Microbiological Quality in Refillable Drinking Water Depots (DAMIU) in Barrang Lompo Island, Makassar City in 2024
BACKGROUND: The high demand for drinking water has driven the popularity of Refilled Drinking Water Station consumption. However, in terms of quality, water from refill stations is not always guaranteed to be clean, as it is at risk of bacterial contamination. AIM: This study aims to identify the presence of pathogenic bacteria in Refilled Drinking Water Station operating on Kodingareng Lompo Island, Barrang Caddi Island, and Lae-Lae Island, Makassar City. METHODS: This research is a quantitative observational study with a descriptive approach. The population of this study was all refill drinking water depots that are actively operating on Barrang Lompo Island, the research sample was based on inclusion criteria. RESULTS: The findings indicate that four out of six Refilled Drinking Water Station across these three islands are contaminated with pathogenic bacteria, specifically total coliform and Escherichia coli (E. coli). Four out of the six Refilled Drinking Water Station were contaminated with total coliform bacteria, with varying bacterial counts ranging from 2 to 243. The Refilled Drinking Water Station with the highest total coliform count was Depot E1, with 243 bacteria, while the Refilled Drinking Water Station with the lowest total coliform count (zero bacteria) were Depot B1 and Depot G1. One out of six Refilled Drinking Water Station was contaminated with E. coli, specifically Depot E1, which had an E. coli count of 11. The four contaminated Refilled Drinking Water Station failed to meet the standards set by Permenkes No. 43 of 2014 regarding building location, depot equipment, and hygiene and sanitation of depot handlers, with feasibility scores below 70%. CONCLUSION: All Refilled Drinking Water Station use bore wells and reverse osmosis for water treatment. However, some Refilled Drinking Water Station remain contaminated with total coliform and E. coli, with factors such as location, equipment, and hygiene and sanitation of Refilled Drinking Water Station handlers contributing to this contamination
Beneficial arthropods in the edible amaranth ecosystem during the wet season
The edible amaranth (Amaranthus tricolor L.) is an important vegetable growing around the world. The famous vegetable plant is known for two types: green and green-red amaranth. The purpose of the research is to study an abundance of beneficial arthropods in the edible amaranth ecosystem using pitfall trap. The study was conducted in the edible amaranth farmers plantation at Kanreapia Village, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi in the wet season from August to December 2022. The pitfall trap was embedded into the ground at the same depth as the soil surface for 24 hours. The position of a pitfall trap in the center and every corner of the plot. The pitfall used five pieces for every plot (total 20 pitfall). The result showed important predator arthropods collected from pitfall traps were divided into two groups: spiders and insects. In this research, the beneficial arthropods are found in similar habitats in the edible amaranth. The highest percentage was Gryllidae such as Gryllus sp. (54.83%). The spiders group from Lycosidae, Lycosa pseudoannulata (25.80%) and from Oxyopidae, Oxyopus sp. (19.35%). The pitfall trap showed the percentage number of Valanga sp. (Acrididae) about 36%
Pendekatan Zero-Inflated Poisson Inverse Gaussian dalam Pemodelan Kasus Malaria di Puskesmas Kota Makassar
Poisson regression is one of the approaches used to model count data. However, this method has an assumption of equidispersion that is not always met in actual data. One problem that often arises is overdispersion, especially when there are excess zeros in the dependent variable. The Mixed Poisson method, namely Zero-Inflated Poisson Inverse Gaussian (ZIPIG) regression is one approach that can be used when there is overdispersion in the data. Parameter estimation in the ZIPIG model is done using the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method through Fisher Scoring Algorithm iterations. This study discusses how ZIPIG modeling is used to identify factors that influence the number of malaria cases in Makassar City Health Center in 2021. The results of the analysis show that the independent variables that have a significant effect on the number of malaria cases are the number of family heads with access to proper sanitation facilities (X1) and the presence of public places that meet health requirements (X2)
PENANAMAN MANGROVE SEBAGAI UPAYA KONSERVASI EKOSISTEM MANGROVE DI DESA TABULO SELATAN KABUPATEN BOALEMO
Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan di Desa Tabulo Selatan Kabupaten Boalemo Kecamatan Mananggu, Boalemo, Provinsi Gorontalo dengan pertimbangan hasil survey penelitian dan permasalahan penanaman mangrove dan pengembangan pemanfaatan rumput laut. Warga setempat belum memiliki pengetahuan dan pemahaman yang optimal akan pentingnya ekosistem mangrove dan pemanfaatan rumput laut. Kegiatan yang dilakukan pada bulan Oktober tahun 2024 ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat wilayah pesisir Desa Tabulo Selatan dan membantu mereka memaksimalkan potensi sumber daya lokal yang tersedia khususnya mangrove dan rumput laut. Selain itu, kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat akan pentingnya fungsi ekosistem mangrove dalam menjaga keberlanjutan ekosistem pesisir, sekaligus memberikan informasi yang relevan bagi pihak-pihak terkait. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua tahap, yaitu sosialisasi dan aktivitas penanaman bibit mangrove. Keterlibatan masyarakat dalam konservasi mangrove sangat krusial, terutama dalam menghadapi tantangan perubahan iklim yang berdampak pada kestabilan lingkungan pesisir. Dengan adanya peningkatan permukaan air laut dan frekuensi bencana alam yang lebih tinggi, keberadaan mangrove menjadi semakin krusial. Beberapa komunitas telah memulai inisiatif untuk menanam kembali mangrove, tidak hanya untuk memperbaiki kerusakan yang telah terjadi, tetapi juga untuk meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya ekosistem ini.

ABSTRACT
Community service was conducted in South Tabulo Village, Mananggu District, Boalemo Regency, Gorontalo Province, based on the findings of research surveys addressing challenges in mangrove planting and the development of seaweed utilization. The local community has yet to acquire optimal knowledge and understanding of the critical role of mangrove ecosystems and the potential benefits of seaweed. Implemented in October 2024, these activities aimed to enhance the awareness of coastal communities in South Tabulo Village while assisting them in maximizing the sustainable use of local resources, particularly mangroves and seaweed. The initiative also sought to improve public understanding of the ecological functions of mangrove ecosystems in maintaining the sustainability of coastal environments and to provide valuable information for relevant stakeholders. The program was conducted in two phases: socialization and practical mangrove seedling planting. Community participation in mangrove conservation is essential, particularly in addressing the challenges of climate change, which significantly impacts coastal ecosystem stability. With rising sea levels and the increasing frequency of natural disasters, the preservation and restoration of mangroves have become more critical than ever. Several community-driven efforts to replant mangroves have emerged, aiming to mitigate existing environmental damage and foster greater awareness of the indispensable role these ecosystems play in coastal resilience and biodiversity conservation.
