Mapping The Development of Japanese Studies Journals In Indonesia
The Japanese studies field has significantly expanded globally, encompassing diverse themes from traditional cultural aspects to contemporary issues such as globalization and international relations. In Indonesia, Japanese studies play a pivotal role in fostering academic and cultural ties with Japan. The growth of this field is evidenced by the increasing number of academic programs and publications focusing on Japanese language, literature, and culture. Currently, Indonesia hosts 27 Japanese studies journals, which serve as key platforms for disseminating research and strengthening academic engagement. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach to map and analyze the development of these journals. It identifies key challenges such as meeting national accreditation standards set by SINTA, ensuring consistent publication quality, and addressing operational sustainability. Other notable issues include article processing charges (APCs) and the need for alignment with international publication norms. Despite these challenges, integrating Japanese cultural philosophy into journal names and designs demonstrates a strong commitment to the field’s identity. In addition, mandatory publication requirements for faculty members and collaborations with academic associations such as ASJI, ASPBJI, and KPSJI provide critical opportunities for these journals to develop further. Rather than merely offering a general overview, this study presents specific insights into the conditions and trajectories of Japanese studies journals in Indonesia, shedding light on their role in strengthening Indonesia’s contribution to global Japanese studies scholarship
Adapting to Climate Change: Food Security Policy Strategies in Makassar City, Indonesia
Food is one of the crucial elements in supporting the sustainability of life and is a fundamental component in supporting Sustainable Development in Indonesia. The current Food Condition of Makassar City still faces several obstacles in its implementation. Several factors include the unfulfilled diversity of existing food, insufficient public understanding of food diversification, consumption and diversity, suboptimal fulfilment of family food and nutritional needs, food availability which is still predominantly plant-based, and suboptimal public health. This study aims to analyze how the Food Security Policy Strategy is implemented in addressing Climate Change in Makassar City. The research method employed in this study is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and document reviews. The results of the study were processed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings of this study indicate that the policy strategies implemented in addressing climate change in Makassar City are: 1) The Tourism Corridor Program (Longwis) utilizing the Urban Farming method, 2) Implementing climate change adaptation policies through Accelerating the flow of climate information in Makassar City, 3) Makassar City Food Diversification Policy with the development of superior commodities that are appropriate for the Makassar City area. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for the government, particularly the Makassar City government and other regions in Indonesia, to develop a Food Security Policy Strategy in Facing Climate Change that can occur at any time, ensuring that sufficient food is met, both in terms of quantity and quality, so that people live healthily and productively in a sustainable manner
Manganese for Whom? A Review on Manganese Mining Permits towards the Existence of Springs’ Sacred Forest in Manggarai Flores
Amid global efforts to find minerals for renewable energy, social-environmental concerns related to mineral extraction are still ongoing. Various agreements at the global level are calling for the renewable energies market to uphold principles of sustainability throughout the entire supply chain, including raw materials extraction, to protect the integrity and objectives of the industry. Importantly, such action must extend beyond the narrow parameters of environmental management to inclusively consider impacts on community wellbeing as well. This article evaluates concerns around land and spring conversion in manganese mining operations in Manggarai, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara Province, NTT. The study is critical to designing a bridging model of water institutional development at the district level that would help realize the water rights of the villagers toward actual action. The analysis of how water institutions function in villages is an area of study that has not been widely examined in Indonesia, even though water issues are increasingly prominent in many regions. This article seeks to analyze functioning water institutions using institutional critical analysis. We apply spatial analysis to mining operation areas to identify land use contestations between mines and the springs as well as settlements. The analysis integrates in-depth interviews with the officials from three key government institutions related to land uses and the springs. Both the spatial analysis and qualitative data are then analyzed alongside the legal framework of land use and spring used to distill the institutional barriers leading to the issuance of permits in such contexts. The analysis then briefly traces the current political economy of mining’s permits underlying the institutional interactions to better understand why the institutions behave as they do. Ultimately, the study finds that mining operations occur in spaces with common resources of sacred springs and settlements. Even though the overlapping was deemed illegal by state law, causes such as poor institutional authority over spring governance, economic rather than social-based motivations for reviewing permits, and election incentives drive institutional behavior, not simply law. In light of this, the study concludes that springs-related institutions at the district level are at a crossroads regarding whether to protect the springs due to the changes in several laws, including regional government law in 2014. However, the expectation of economic growth, local politics, and global demand for manganese remains a significant underlying influence of allocating permits to manganese mines
CSR Communication of Petrogas (Basin) Ltd on Stunting Reduction in Arar Village - Sorong Regency
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is one of the strategies used by companies to support this effort. Communication plays an important role in the success of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, especially in health issues such as stunting reduction. Stunting is a significant health problem in Indonesia, including in Southwest Papua, with long-term impacts on children\u27s physical growth, cognitive development, and quality of life. The Indonesian government has issued various policies to accelerate the reduction of stunting, one of which is through nutritional interventions and cross-sector collaboration. This study aims to examine the communication of CSR programs carried out by Petrogas (Basin) Ltd. in an effort to reduce stunting in Arar Village, Sorong Regency. Through the program of providing additional food for toddlers and pregnant women. The research method used is a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, observation and literature study. The results showed that effective communication in CSR programs plays an important role in the successful implementation of providing supplementary programs for toddlers and pregnant women. In addition, the active involvement of beneficiaries and stakeholders in the communication process increases the effectiveness of the program and strengthens the relationship between the company and the community. This research provides insight into how CSR communication can contribute to addressing public health issues and building a positive corporate image
Potential of Ambient Media Use as Advertising Media in the Future
Ambient media is proven to be more effective in attracting attention and increasing audience recall than conventional advertising so that it overcomes the challenge of ad fatigue in digital advertising. Based on these findings, ambient media has great potential as a more interactive, memorable and unobtrusive marketing strategy which makes it an innovative solution in the face of future advertising industry dynamics. Therefore, advertisers are expected to optimize the creative and experiential elements in the implementation of ambient media in order to enhance the appeal and effectiveness of their campaigns. The aim of this study is to explore the potential of ambient media as an innovative and effective advertising medium in the future. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this research analyzed various studies which discussed ambient media in marketing communication strategies. The results show that ambient media has the advantage of creating creative messages which rely on visual surprise, audience interaction, and integration with the environment, while being able to build emotional engagement through an Experiential Marketing approach that focuses on sensory, emotional, and social experiences
Overview of Work Stress of Nurses Providing Services at Madani Regional Hospital Palu
Aims: To determine the description of the work stress of nurses who provide services at Madani Regional Hospital Palu.
Methods: This research is a quantitative research type with a descriptive design—sample selection using non-probability sampling type of purposive sampling as many as 149 nurses who provide nursing services. Data collection used the Indonesian version of the Expanded Nursing Stress Scale (ENSS) questionnaire, which has undergone validity and reliability tests.
Results: The results of this study showed that the characteristics of the majority of nurse respondents were early adulthood aged 26-35 years (65.1%), work experience <5 years (53%), female gender ( 60.4 %), and married status (76.5%). Description of work stress of nurses with low work stress levels (56.4%) and high work stress (43.6%). Description of work stress of nurses based on characteristics of early adulthood low work stress (64.3%) high work stress (66.1%), work experience >5 years low work stress (42.9%) high work stress (52.3%), female gender low work stress (60.7%) high work stress (60%), married status low work stress (82.1%) high work stress (69.2%).
Conclusion: This study\u27s results show that most nurses experience low work stress, and almost half of nurses experience high work stress. High work stress is found at ages 26-35, with work experience >5 years, female gender, and married status. The factors causing high work stress were found in the subscale of problems with superiors and the subscale of workload
ANALISIS RISIKO KEJATUHAN JANGKAR TERHADAP PIPA BAWAH LAUT DI NATUNA
Energy is a fundamental element in economic and social development, with oil and natural gas remaining the primary energy sources in Indonesia. To support the distribution of hydrocarbons from production facilities to onshore locations, subsea pipelines serve as vital infrastructure in the upstream oil and gas industry. However, subsea pipelines face various external risks, including dropped ship anchors, which can cause significant damage both technically and environmentally. This study aims to analyze the risk level of dropped anchors on subsea pipelines in Natuna. The methodology involves data collection related to pipeline characteristics, vessel traffic, and anchor types. Consequence analysis is conducted by calculating pipeline dent levels due to anchor kinetic energy based on the DNV-RP-F107 guideline. The results show that the anchor impact energy on the pipeline is approximately 3,94 kJ, placing the pipeline consequence level in the <5% dent/diameter category. Risk assessment using a risk matrix indicates that the risk level remains within the ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) threshold, meaning the risk is acceptable with reasonable mitigation measures. The findings suggest that although dropped anchors can cause pipeline deformation, the resulting damage remains within safe limits. However, to further reduce potential risks, additional mitigation measures are required, such as vessel traffic monitoring, designated anchor-free zones, and enhancing pipeline resilience against external impacts.Energi merupakan elemen fundamental dalam pembangunan ekonomi dan sosial, dengan minyak dan gas bumi tetap menjadi sumber utama di Indonesia. Untuk mendukung distribusi hidrokarbon dari fasilitas produksi ke daratan, pipa bawah laut menjadi infrastruktur vital dalam industri hulu migas. Namun, keberadaan pipa bawah laut menghadapi berbagai risiko eksternal, termasuk kejatuhan jangkar kapal, yang dapat menyebabkan kerusakan signifikan baik dari segi teknis maupun lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat risiko akibat kejatuhan jangkar terhadap pipa bawah laut di Natuna. Metode yang digunakan mencakup pengumpulan data terkait karakteristik pipa, lalu lintas kapal, dan jenis jangkar yang digunakan. Analisis konsekuensi dilakukan dengan menghitung tingkat penyok pipa akibat energi kinetik jangkar menggunakan panduan DNV-RP-F107. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa energi jangkar yang mengenai pipa berkisar pada 3,94 kJ, yang menempatkan tingkat konsekuensi pipa dalam kategori <5% dent/diameter. Penilaian risiko menggunakan matriks risiko menunjukkan bahwa tingkat risiko masih berada dalam batas ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable), yang berarti risiko dapat diterima dengan penerapan langkah mitigasi yang wajar. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun kejatuhan jangkar dapat menyebabkan deformasi pada pipa, tingkat kerusakan yang terjadi masih dalam batas aman. Namun, untuk mengurangi potensi risiko lebih lanjut, diperlukan langkah mitigasi tambahan seperti pengawasan lalu lintas kapal, penentuan zona larangan jangkar, serta peningkatan ketahanan pipa terhadap dampak eksternal
Comparative Study Of Ship Loading And Unloading Methods To Increase Productivity In Large Ports
This research examines the comparison between manual ship loading and unloading methods and modern technology in the context of large ports to increase productivity. The main focus of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of each process in improving port operational efficiency. The research was carried out through analysis of quantitative and qualitative data collected from large ports that apply both methods. Data collected includes loading and unloading times, operational costs, and productivity. The research results show that ports that use modern technology such as gantry cranes and automated guided vehicles (AGV) experience a significant increase in productivity compared to ports that use manual methods. Modern methods can reduce loading and unloading times by up to 30% and reduce operational costs substantially. In addition, this technology also reduces the risk of errors and damage to goods, increases safety, and optimizes resource use. These findings indicate that investment in modern technology is a strategic step to increase efficiency and productivity in large ports. Therefore, port managers should consider the implementation of advanced technologies and staff training to maximize the benefits of these technologies. It is hoped that this research can provide practical guidance for ports in designing more efficient and economical loading and unloading strategies
Tantangan Penggunaan Bahasa Inggris Maritim Pada Awak Kapal dan Implikasinya Terhadap Keselamatan Operasional di Laut
This research aims is to analyze the challenges of using Maritime English by ship crews and its impact on safety at sea. Through a survey approach, data was obtained from a number of ship crews at ports, especially at Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya. The results showed variations in the level of Maritime English competency among respondents, with a number of challenges faced, such as difficulties in daily communication, document translation, and interactions with port authorities. These challenges have serious implications for safety at sea, including increased risk of accidents, operational delays, and the inability to respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations. These safety implications highlight the urgency to improve maritime English competency among ship crews through appropriate training and the development of effective communication strategies. By improving maritime English skills, it can be hoped that safety risks at sea can be significantly reduced. This research provides valuable insights for the shipping industry and authorities to improve communication practices and increase safety at sea.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tantangan penggunaan Bahasa Inggris maritim oleh awak kapal dan dampaknya terhadap keselamatan di laut. Melalui pendekatan survei, data diperoleh dari sejumlah awak kapal di pelabuhan-pelabuhan, terutama di Pelabuhan Tanjung Perak Surabaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan variasi dalam tingkat kompetensi Bahasa Inggris maritim di antara responden, dengan sejumlah tantangan yang dihadapi, seperti kesulitan dalam komunikasi sehari-hari, penerjemahan dokumen, dan interaksi dengan otoritas pelabuhan. Tantangan ini memiliki implikasi serius terhadap keselamatan di laut, termasuk peningkatan risiko kecelakaan, penundaan operasional, dan ketidakmampuan untuk merespon situasi darurat dengan cepat dan tepat. Implikasi keselamatan ini menyoroti urgensi untuk meningkatkan kompetensi Bahasa Inggris maritim di kalangan awak kapal melalui pelatihan yang sesuai dan pengembangan strategi komunikasi yang efektif. Dengan memperbaiki kemampuan Bahasa Inggris maritim, dapat diharapkan bahwa risiko keselamatan di laut dapat dikurangi secara signifikan. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan yang berharga bagi industri pelayaran dan pihak berwenang untuk memperbaiki praktik komunikasi dan meningkatkan keselamatan di laut.

Maritime Sector As A Barometer Of Surabaya\u27s Second Progress In Indonesia With The Spirit Of Building Starting From The Periphery
The importance of the socio-economic dimension of the utilization of marine potential in an area, with the existence of various regulations and technological developments, both regarding the technology of marine potential utilization tools and technology to develop and preserve the Marine potential itself, so that it can be utilized as much as possible for Prosperity. Contribution to fill the gap with socio-economic assessment of the utilization of the maritime sector of Surabaya city can be done by several steps, namely creating a” framework " for the maritime economy, then collecting and classifying socio-economic indicators that are comparable to be reliable in the maritime world. The Data obtained will allow us to assess the size of the maritime sector of the city of Surabaya and its position in the maritime claster framework made by both the provincial and central governments, as well as discuss the suitability of the strategy to form a claster at the National vs. transnational level. The results show the difference between Central and local government policies, at least at the level of implementation, expanding knowledge about marine potential that will allow to design strategies that address the real issues of marine potential utilization policies so that they become effective.
