    The Effect of Pesticide Exposure on Metabolic Syndrome: An Epidemiological Analysis in an Agricultural Population

    Metabolic syndrome, characterised by hyperglycaemia, dyslipi-daemia, hypertension, and central obesity, is a global health problem, and exposure to pesticides is an important risk factor for agricultural workers. This study aims to analyse the effects of pesticide exposure, sociodemographic factors, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage behaviour on glucose levels, HDL, and LDL in farmers in Kubu Raya District, West Kalimantan. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 60 farmers selected using stratified random sampling. Data were collected through structured interviews, fasting blood tests, and analysed using the chi-square test with a significance level of 95%. The results showed a high prevalence of high blood glucose (56.7%), low HDL (35.0%), and high LDL (55.0%). Pesticide exposure was significantly associated with glucose levels (p=0.043), with hypergly-caemia being higher in the high-exposure group (70.8%) compared to the low-exposure group (33.3%). Age was also significant for glucose (p = 0.046), with a higher prevalence in the ≥40 years group (65.8%) compared to the 40 years group (40.9%). The use of PPE showed a significant association with all metabolic parameters: higher glucose levels were more common in the non-routine PPE use group (70.6% vs. 38.5%; p = 0.012), lower HDL levels were higher in the non-routine group (44.1% vs. 23.1%; p=0.043), and higher LDL levels were more common in the non-routine group (64.7% vs. 42.3%; p = 0.046). These findings confirm that pesticide exposure, age, and APD usage behaviour contribute to metabolic disorders among farmers. Occupational health interventions emphasizing APD use, routine metabolic screening, and community-based education are needed to reduce the risk of metabolic syndrome in the agricultural population

    Indonesia’s linguistic diversity is under threat, with a steady decline in the use of local languages despite constitutional protections. In urban centers like Semarang, dialects such as Ngapak face social stigma, leading migrant students to adjust their speech patterns.  Unlike previous studies that focused primarily on speech strategies, this study examines deeper sociolinguistic issues, including dialect stigma and language-based marginalization. Using qualitative case study approach, this study was conducted in Semarang Central Java. Data were collected through semi-structured interview with 20 participants, observation, social media analysis, and online surveys. They were then categorized using the CAT framework and compiled into a comprehensive research report. The findings show that stigmatization is rooted in historical, institutional, and popular factors. Ngapak students employ convergence, divergence, and maintenance strategies depending on context and interlocutor, with a stronger tendency toward convergence. These strategies influence how they are perceived and socially integrated. In conclusion, their communication strategies reflect their efforts to navigate stigma, negotiate identity, and maintain linguistic pride within a linguistically diverse campus environment

    Histopathological Difference of Inflammatory Cells Infiltration into Fetal Membranes of PROM and Non-PROM

    Introduction: Premature rupture of membranes (PROM) remains one of several causes of premature birth that increases both maternal mortality ratio and neonatal mortality rate. Inflammation of fetal membranes leads to release of inflammatory mediators and resulting in weakness of fetal membranes, particularly the amniotic membrane. The amniotic membrane in PROM has a focal weakness, which differs from the membrane in non-premature rupture of membrane (non-PROM) that has a generalized weakness. This research aimed to determine histopathological difference of inflammatory cells infiltration into fetal membranes of PROM and non-PROM.   Methods:  Quantitative observation was applied to this research. Cross-sectional design was used for analyzing data. Primary data was collected from the delivery room and operating theater of Emergency Department in dr. Ramelan Central Naval Hospital (RSPAL dr. Ramelan) Surabaya. Data collection started from August to November 2019 using total population sampling technique. Results: A total of 40 samples histopathologically examined showed that 11 out of 20 (55%) fetal membranes in PROM had polymorphonuclear (PMN) cells infiltration and 9 (45%) did not have PMN cells infiltration, 1 out of 20 (5%) fetal membranes in non-PROM had PMN cells infiltration and 19 (95%) did not have PMN cells infiltration. The prevalence ratio (PR) of PROM based upon the presence of PMN cells infiltration into fetal membranes was 2.85 (PR>1). The significance level of Chi-square test was 0.001 (ρ>0.05). Conclusions: The difference of inflammatory cells infiltration into fetal membranes of PROM and non-PROM was statistically significant

    Clinicopathological Profile and Disease-Free Survival in Stage I-II Endometrial Cancer at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital

    Introduction: This study aimed to describe the clinicopathological profile and evaluate the disease-free survival (DFS) of patients with FIGO 2009 stage I–II endometrioid endometrial cancer, and to determine the prognostic value of key factors, emphasizing lymphovascular space invasion (LVSI) and tumor grade. Methods: A retrospective cohort of 111 patients treated between January 2017 and December 2022 was analyzed. Variables included age, menopausal status, BMI, depth of myometrial invasion, LVSI, and tumor grade. Survival was estimated using the Kaplan–Meier method; associations were assessed with Fisher’s exact test, and independent prognostic factors were identified using multivariate Cox regression analysis Results: The median follow-up for the 111 patients was 32 months. Most were stage IB (42.4%), aged 45–60 years (46.8%), postmenopausal (73%), and obese (63%). Stage-specific DFS rates were: Stage IA – 94.6% (1-year), 87.8% (2-year), 87.8% (3-year); Stage IB – 93.6% (1-year), 91.0% (2-year), 91.0% (3-year); Stage II – 92.6% (1-year), 88.9% (2-year), 88.9% (3-year). LVSI positivity (15.3%) and high tumor grade emerged as the strongest prognostic factors. Multivariate analysis confirmed LVSI as an independent predictor across all stages, with hazard ratios ranging from 3.85 in stage IA to 4.25 in stage IB and 12.5 in stage II (p<0.05). In stage II, LVSI-positive patients showed a 57.1% 3-year DFS versus 100% in LVSI-negative patients. Conclusions: LVSI and tumor grade are independent, interrelated prognostic markers in early-stage endometrial carcinoma. Their integration into risk stratification refines adjuvant therapy guidance. Implementation requires standardized pathological reporting and efficient referral systems to improve long-term surveillance adherence

    Kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Mahasiswa (KKM) ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya akses promosi digital Masjid Batu Nasrullah di Desa Selat Remis, Kecamatan Teluk Pakedai, Kabupaten Kubu Raya, Kalimantan Barat yang memiliki potensi besar sebagai pusat wisata religi dan edukasi spiritual masyarakat. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah mengoptimalkan fungsi masjid tidak hanya sebagai tempat ibadah, tetapi juga sebagai pusat informasi sejarah, edukasi keislaman, dan wisata religi berbasis ekowisata-sosial-religius. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif-edukatif dengan melibatkan masyarakat, khususnya masyarakat sekitar, dalam setiap prosesnya. Hasil kegiatan meliputi revitalisasi identitas masjid melalui banner sejarah, pelatihan media sosial, pembentukan akun Instagram masjid, hingga peningkatan kapasitas generasi muda dalam pengelolaan digital. Program ini menunjukkan bahwa digitalisasi promosi masjid mampu mendorong eksistensi masjid sebagai ikon wisata religi lokal. Diharapkan, kegiatan ini menjadi langkah awal berkelanjutan dalam manajemen ekowisata religi berbasis pemberdayaan masyarakat.    Kata kunci: Masjid, wisata religi, ekowisata, edukasi, digitalisasi, manajemen sosial-religius.   ABSTRACT This Student Field Study Program (KKM) was motivated by the lack of digital promotion for the Batu Nasrullah Mosque in Selat Remis Village, Teluk Pakedai District, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, which has great potential as a center for religious tourism and spiritual education for the community. The objective of this activity is to optimize the function of the mosque not only as a place of worship but also as a center for historical information, Islamic education, and religious tourism based on eco-social-religious tourism. The method used is a participatory-educational approach involving the community, especially the local community, in every process. The results of the activity include revitalizing the mosque\u27s identity through historical banners, social media training, creating an Instagram account for the mosque, and increasing the capacity of the younger generation in digital management. This program shows that the digitization of mosque promotion can encourage the existence of mosques as icons of local religious tourism. It is hoped that this activity will be the first step in sustainable management of community-based religious ecotourism.     الملخص يجدر السياق بالاهتمام في تصوير دلالة النَّص، وتوضيح مضمون الفكرة لأداء المعنى، عبر العدول عن النمطية في التراكيب، مع كشف الغطاء في تناسب الأسلوب. فإنَّ بلاغة الحديث النبوي ظاهرة تفوق الوصف، لأنَّها متأثرة بالوحي الإلهي، حيث كان الرسول-عليه الصلاة والسلام-على حد الكفاية في قدرته على الوضع والتشقيق من الألفاظ، وانتزاع المذاهب البيانيَّة، حتى اقتضب ألفاظًا رائعة، وتنتج معان ساميَّة. وعلى هذا المنوال قد يهدف الباحثان إلى تحليل مشكلة البحث في رحاب تسليط الأضواء نحو جهود عبقرية أَلَاوِيَّيْ في تحليل الحديث النبوي، حيث يلحق مرماه باختيار الألفاظ، ويبلغ مناه في اصطفاء المعاني، فيؤثر السياق المقالي والمقامي في إبراز المعنى المراد بدلالة النَّص البلاغي المعتاد. وإنَّ أهمية هذه المقالة مستقلَّة على مدى الذوق والملكة لدى أَلَاوِيَّيْ في إفادة القراء والدارسين بمدلول نصوص الأحاديث النبويَّة، وتغذية العقول اليقظة في البنية والوظيفة نحو توجيه الباحثين في رياض المكتبة البيانيَّة النبويَّة الكلمات المفتاحية:  السياق؛ الأسلوب؛ النص البلاغي؛ الحديث النبوي؛ أسهامات ألاويي؛ تحليل وتعليل.

    PENINGKATAN PENGETAHUAN DAN KETERAMPILAN PEMBUATAN PAKAN SILASE DI KELOMPOK TERNAK AL-JAUHAR, KABUPATEN SORONG

    Feed is a critical component in livestock farming, accounting for up to 70% of total production costs. One of the main challenges in optimizing livestock productivity in Indonesia is the limited availability and suboptimal quality of feed ingredients for sustainable livestock systems. Seasonal variations often affect feed availability, making feed processing a viable alternative to enhance both the availability and quality of livestock feed. This community mentoring activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of farmers in processing livestock feed to ensure feed availability during the dry season, particularly through silage production in Warmon Kokoda Village, Mayamuk District, Sorong Regency. The program consisted of several stages, including socialization, counseling, method demonstrations, and evaluation through pre- and post-tests. The activities were conducted from August 27 to September 24, 2023, with 20 participants from the Al-Jauhar Livestock Group. The mentoring program resulted in successful counseling and hands-on assistance in producing forage-based silage. The outcomes showed a 34.5% increase in farmers’ knowledge and a 27% improvement in their practical skills related to silage processing. The overall effectiveness of the activity was measured at 51.68%, indicating that the program was implemented as planned. This mentoring and counseling initiative has enabled members of the Al-Jauhar Livestock Group to process livestock feed more effectively, thereby supporting sustainable livestock productivity.   ---   Pakan merupakan faktor yang sangat penting dalam budidaya peternakan, yang mampu mencapai 70% dari total biaya produksinya. Permasalahan utama dalam belum optimalnya produksi ternak di Indonesia yaitu ketersediaan dan kualitas bahan pakan yang diberikan pada ternak yang berkelanjutan. Kendala ketersediaan pakan dapat disebabkan oleh pengaruh musim. Maka pengolahan pakan dapat menjadi solusi alternatif untuk meningkatkan ketersediaan dan kualitas pakan karena pengaruh musim tersebut. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pendampingan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peternak dalam mengolah pakan dalam mendukung jetersediaan dalam musim kemarau seperti pembuatan silase  di Kampung Warmon Kokoda, Distrik Mayamuk, Kabupaten Sorong. Kegiatan pendampingan ini terdiri dari beberapa tahapan yaitu sosialisasi, penyuluhan, demonstrasi cara, dan evaluasi berupa pre-test dan post-test yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 27 Agustus hingga 24 September 2023 di Kelompok Ternak Al-Jauhar yang beranggotakan 20 orang sebagai peserta pada kegiatan ini. Hasil kegiatan ini yaitu kegiatan penyuluhan dan pendampingan pembuatan pakan silase berbahan baku hijauan. Keberhasilan program terlihat dari peningkatan pengetahuan sebanyak 34,5% dan keterampilan sebesar 27% pada peternak dalam pengolahan pakan silase. Efektivitas kegiatan mencapai 51,68%, sehingga dapat dikatakan program ini dikatakan berjalan sesuai yang direncanakan. Dengan adanya kegiatan pendampingan serta penyuluhan ini, peternak di Kelompok Ternak Al-Juahar dapat mengolah pakan dengan lebih baik, sehingga mampu mendukung produktivitas ternak secara berkelanjutan

    TRANSFER TEKNOLOGI PRODUKSI PESTISIDA NABATI PLUS ORGANIK ADJUVAN PADA KELOMPOK TANI JAYA DI DESA ROSOWOSARI

    Rowosari Village is one of Jember University\u27s fostered communities. Jember University has provided assistance with conventional, semi-organic, and organic farming systems from the LeSOS institution. Organic rice is the superior agricultural commodity. Geographically, Rowosari settlement serves as a buffer settlement for Mount Raung. Rowosari Village is known for its fertile soil and clean water. Farmers confront primary pest attacks, such as rice stem borers and brown planthoppers. Meanwhile, farmers are not allowed to use synthetic pesticides. The partnership service program ran from July to November 2024. The Jaya II Farmer Group serves as this program\u27s partner. The stages of activity begin with organic farming advice, followed by the mass production of botanical pesticides and organic adjuvants, and application aid on agricultural land. The outcomes of community service demonstrate that farmers are excited to participate in the program. Farmers can independently synthesize botanical pesticides and organic adjuvants. Additionally, growers can directly apply the product to their organic rice crops. Farmers can also determine the level of pest infestation through simple experiments including botanical insecticides and organic adjuvants. Farmers have also recognized the need of regular monitoring and recording the application\u27s results for future evaluation. The overall goal of this community service initiative is to help farmers enhance their ability and independence in managing organic farming methods. The end result is an appropriate technology that has the potential to significantly improve organic farming and food security.   ---   Desa Rowosari adalah salah satu desa binaan dari Universitas Jember. Universitas Jember telah mendampingi dari sistem pertanian konvensional, semi organik, dan organik dari lembaga LeSOS. Komoditas unggulan yang dibudidayakan adalah padi organik. Secara geografi, Desa Rowosari terletak sebagai desa penyangga dari Gunung Raung. Desa Rowosari memiliki karakteristik tanah yang subur dan air bebas bahan pencemar. Namun, kendala yang dihadapi oleh petani adalah serangan hama utama yaitu penggerek batang padi, walang sangit, dan wereng batang coklat. Sementara itu, petani dilarang untuk menggunakan pestisida sintetis. Program pengabdian kemitraan dilaksanakan dari Bulan Juli-November 2024. Mitra pada program ini yaitu Kelompok Tani Jaya II. Tahapan kegiatan dimulai dengan penyuluhan pertanian organik, proses produksi massal pestisida nabati plus organik adjuvan, serta pendampingan aplikasi pada lahan budidaya. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa petani memiliki antusias untuk mengikuti program. Petani dapat memproduksi pestisida nabati plus organik adjuvan secara mandiri. Selain itu, petani dapat mengaplikasikan secara langsung produk tersebut pada lahan padi organiknya. Petani juga mampu membedakan tingkat serangan hama melalui percobaan sederhana menggunakan pestisida nabati plus organik adjuvan. Petani juga telah memahami pentingnya pemantauan rutin dan mencatat hasil aplikasi untuk evaluasi lebih lanjut. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini secara keseluruhan membantu petani dalam meningkatkan kapasitas dan kemandirian petani dalam mengelola praktik pertanian organik. Produk yang dihasilkan tersebut merupakan Teknologi Tepat Guna yang berpotensi besar untuk memperkuat pertanian organik dan ketahanan pangan

    PENINGKATAN KAPABILITAS PENGELOLA DANA BANTUAN OPERASIONAL SEKOLAH (BOS) LINGKUP KABUPATEN PINRANG

    This service aims to improve the capability of School Operational Assistance Fund (BOS) managers in Pinrang District through training and technical assistance. Pinrang Regency has allocated Rp66.88 billion in BOS funds to 206 schools, but the budget realization is only about 30%, indicating constraints in management effectiveness. Community service activities conducted by the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business, Hasanuddin University were designed as a response to this problem, in line with the 2021-2026 Pinrang Regency RPJMD and the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The training focused on improving the understanding of the mechanism for managing BOS funds, including the use of the ARKAS 4.0 application, as well as the preparation of accountable and transparent financial reports. The results showed a significant improvement in the understanding and skills of BOS fund managers. Participants showed high enthusiasm and welcomed this activity as a solution to the various problems they faced. In addition to the training, follow-up assistance was provided to ensure that the implementation runs optimally in each education unit. This activity produced outputs in the form of training modules, publication of news articles, video documentation, and plans to publish articles in accredited national journals. Overall, this activity has had a positive impact on the accountability of school financial management and should continue to be developed so that the benefits are wider.   ---   Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapabilitas pengelola Dana Bantuan Operasional Sekolah (BOS) di Kabupaten Pinrang melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan teknis. Kabupaten Pinrang telah mengalokasikan dana BOS sebesar Rp66,88 miliar kepada 206 sekolah, namun realisasi anggarannya hanya sekitar 30%, yang menandakan adanya kendala dalam efektivitas pengelolaan. Permasalahan yang diidentifikasi dilapangan meliputi penyimpangan penggunaan dana, ketidaksesuaian dengan RKA, pencatatan aset yang tidak akurat, hingga kurangnya transparansi dan pelaporan yang tidak lengkap. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh Departemen Akuntansi Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Hasanuddin dirancang sebagai respons terhadap masalah ini, sejalan dengan RPJMD Kabupaten Pinrang 2021–2026 dan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Pelatihan difokuskan pada peningkatan pemahaman terhadap mekanisme pengelolaan dana BOS, termasuk penggunaan aplikasi ARKAS 4.0, serta penyusunan laporan keuangan yang akuntabel dan transparan. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test serta observasi implementasi lapangan. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan pengelola dana BOS. Peserta menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dan menyambut baik kegiatan ini sebagai solusi atas berbagai permasalahan yang mereka hadapi. Selain pelatihan, pendampingan lanjutan diberikan untuk memastikan implementasi berjalan optimal di masing-masing satuan pendidikan. Kegiatan ini menghasilkan output berupa modul pelatihan, publikasi artikel berita, video dokumentasi, serta rencana penerbitan artikel di jurnal nasional terakreditasi. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap akuntabilitas pengelolaan keuangan sekolah dan perlu terus dikembangkan agar manfaatnya semakin luas

    PROFIL FLAVONOID, FENOLIK, TANIN PADA FOOD BAR OKARA EDAMAME UNTUK REMAJA OBESITAS

    Pendahuluan: Obesitas pada remaja memicu peradangan ringan dan stres oksidatif, sehingga camilan bergizi dengan potensi antioksidan penting sebagai pendamping perubahan gaya hidup. Food bar berbasis okara–edamame sebagai alternatif pilihan karena menyumbang serat, protein nabati, dan polifenol. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan profil flavonoid, total fenolik, dan tanin pada food bar okara–edamame. Bahan dan Metode: Eksperimen laboratorik dengan rancangan acak lengkap pada tiga formulasi (F1–F3); formula terbaik dipilih lewat uji hedonic, kemudian dianalisis kimia. Total fenolik dianalisis dengan (Folin–Ciocalteu, 765 nm; mg GAE/g), total flavonoid (AlCl₃, 415 nm; mg QE/g), dan tanin (vanillin–HCl, 500 nm; mg CE/g); kemudian dilakukan uji spss. Hasil: F3 memiliki daya terima tertinggi dan ditetapkan untuk uji kimia; kadar flavonoid 0,024 ± 0,002 mg/g QE, total fenolik 0,015 ± 0,004 mg/g GAE, dan tanin 0,013 ± 0,001 mg/g, dengan variasi antarulangan kecil hingga sedang, menandakan presisi memadai. Secara fungsional, kandungan polifenol tergolong sedang namun menjadi nilai tambah produk, Kadar tanin yang rendah mendukung penerimaan rasa.  Kesimpulan: food bar okara–edamame tepat diposisikan sebagai camilan fungsional berbasis serat–protein dengan polifenol komplementer. Selanjutnya diperlukan uji proksimat, optimalisasi proses pengolahan dan uji daya simpan untuk meningkatkan mutu dan kualitas produk.
