THE REPRESENTATION OF CHINESE AND MULTICULTURALISM IN BUKALAPAK’S BU LINDA ADVERTISEMENT
Full text linkIndonesia is a multi-ethnic country that is rich in cultural diversity. However, certain ethnic identities, such as Chinese, are often marginalised in their socio-political history. Bu Linda\u27s advertisement from Bukalapak, released to celebrate Chinese New Year, attempts to counter racist sentiments and promote multiculturalism. This study employs qualitative analysis to explore how advertisement portrays the relationship among ethnicity, class, and authority within the context of Indonesian society. Hall\u27s (1997) theory of representation is used to examine how racial and ethnic identities are portrayed in the advertisement, Bhabha\u27s (1994) social articulation is used to analyze how the diversity of identities among the characters intertwines in the advertisement, and Pratista\u27s (2008) cinematographic analysis is used to examine how the depiction of audio-visual communication in the advertisement shapes the understanding of the message. The findings show that Bu Linda\u27s advertising video represents Indonesia\u27s multicultural society through dynamic interactions and the merging of identities between Javanese (Ari), Ambonese (Mario), and Chinese (Bu Linda) as student boarders and the house owner, in a shared space depicted using a boarding house setting. Moreover, this advertisement serves as propaganda that aims to evoke public sympathy for Indonesian unity through the representation of social and cultural strength
Efektivitas Literasi Digital Dalam Pendidikan Jarak Jauh
Full text linkLiterasi digital menjadi salah satu faktor penting dalam menunjang keberhasilan pembelajaran jarak jauh (PJJ) di era digital saat ini. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan melalui siaran edukatif sebagai narasumber di Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Kota Sorong pada tanggal 19 November 2023. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang pentingnya literasi digital dalam PJJ, serta memperkenalkan berbagai fasilitas dan strategi yang digunakan Universitas Terbuka dalam mendukung transformasi digital pembelajaran. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui penyuluhan berbasis media digital dengan pendekatan ceramah interaktif dan sesi tanya jawab. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan tingginya antusiasme pendengar dan meningkatnya pemahaman terkait pemanfaatan platform digital dalam pendidikan. Dampak dari kegiatan ini adalah tumbuhnya kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya kompetensi digital dalam mendukung kemandirian belajar serta perluasan akses pendidikan
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Dalam Mengurangi Tingkat Kecemasan Pada Perempuan Yang Mengalami Kekerasan Verbal ( Pendekatan Studi Kasus )
Full text linkThis study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in reducing anxiety in an emerging adult woman who experienced verbal abuse since childhood. The research used a case study design with one participant selected through purposive sampling. The subject was a 20-year-old woman categorized as an emerging adult, experiencing high levels of anxiety due to prolonged verbal abuse during childhood. A mixed-methods approach was applied, combining qualitative data from interviews and observations, and quantitative data using the GAD-7 anxiety scale. The ACT intervention used an A-B design, consisting of one baseline phase and one treatment phase, with a total of four treatment sessions. Quantitative analysis compared GAD-7 scores before and after ACT, showing a reduction in anxiety from the severe to the mild category. Qualitative findings further supported this result, revealing behavioral changes in the subject. Initially fearful of new social situations and hesitant to take new opportunities, the subject began to engage more confidently with new people and activities. The subject also showed improvements in classroom participation and online self-expression. These findings indicate that ACT can effectively enhance psychological flexibility and reduce anxiety, especially in early adult women with a history of verbal abuse
SEMANTIC STUDY OF IDIOMATIC EXPRESSIONS IN TAYLOR SWIFT’S “DANCING WITH OUR HANDS TIED” LYRICS
Full text linkIdiomatic expressions are an essential component of language, often used in literature and music to convey complex emotions and abstract ideas. In the realm of contemporary music, particularly pop lyrics, idioms play a crucial role in enhancing expressive depth. However, there remains limited research on how idioms function within modern song lyrics. This study aims to analyze the use of idiomatic expressions in Taylor Swift’s song “Dancing with Our Hands Tied” to explore how figurative language contributes to lyrical meaning. Addressing this gap, the research employs a qualitative method, collecting data through close observation, including repeated listening and textual analysis of the lyrics. The idioms identified were analyzed using Seidl and McMordie’s classification framework. The findings reveal 22 idiomatic expressions categorized into nine types, including key words with idiomatic uses, idioms with nouns and adjectives, idiomatic pairs, idioms with prepositions, phrasal verbs, verbal idioms, idioms with special subjects, idioms with key words from specific categories, and idioms with comparison. These idioms are shown to reflect emotional tension, love, and inner conflict. The findings suggest that Taylor Swift effectively employs idiomatic language to convey the emotional complexities and nuanced experiences associated with love, thereby enhancing the expressive power of her lyrics
Kecerdasan Emosi Ditinjau dari Compulsive Internet Use Pada Mahasiswa
Full text linkThis study aims to investigate the effect of Compulsive Internet Use (CIU) on the emotional intelligence of students at Bina Darma University. Involving 100 randomly selected respondents, the study utilized the Compulsive Internet Use Scale (CIUS) to measure the level of compulsive internet usage and Wong and Law’s Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS) to assess emotional intelligence. Data were collected through online questionnaires, and statistical descriptive and linear regression methods were employed for data analysis. The findings revealed that the majority of respondents (72%) experienced moderate to high levels of CIU, with an average CIUS score of 43.5 (SD = 9.8). Conversely, the respondents’ emotional intelligence was generally at a relatively good level, with an average WLEIS score of 88.2 (SD = 12.1). Regression analysis showed a significant negative effect of CIU on emotional intelligence (β = -0.36, p < 0.01), indicating that increased compulsive internet use is associated with lower emotional intelligence. These findings provide deeper insights into the impact of compulsive internet usage on the emotional well-being of students and emphasize the importance of interventions aimed at reducing excessive internet use to improve emotional intelligence
ANALISIS UNSUR INTRINSIK PADA CERITA RAKYAT NYI KANIPAH DAN PEMANFAATANNYA SEBAGAI BAHAN PEMBELAJARAN APRESIASI SASTRA DI SMA
Full text linkThis study aims to describe the intrinsic elements of the Nyi Kanipah folktale and its use as a learning material for literary appreciation in high school. The Nyi Kanipah folktale comes from Pandeglang Banten. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques are survey techniques, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the content analysis method with qualitative research steps using the Milles and Hubberman models. The findings of the study are as follows. First, the theme of the folktale is a person\u27s fortitude in living life. Second, the plot is a forward plot. Third, the characters in the story are Nyi Kanipah, Ambu Sair, King Jin and the surrounding community. Fourth, the setting in the folktale is at Nyi Kanipah\u27s house, on the river, the setting is morning, afternoon, evening. and the setting is sad and critical. Fifth, the point of view in the story is third person. Sixth, the message in the folktale is patience that must be applied in living life. The results of the analysis of the intrinsic elements of the Nyi Kanipah folktale can be used as learning material for literary appreciation in high school.

Full text linkKegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata Perguruan Tinggi Mandiri Gotong Royong Membangun Desa (KKN PTMGRD) Tahun 2025 merupakan kegiatan pengabdian pada Masyarakat yang dinaungi oleh Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan Tinggi 4 (LLDIKTI IV), yang dilaksanakan di SDN Puncak Malanding pada tanggal 22 April 2025 merupakan salah satu program tambahan di bidang Pendidikan, bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan olahraga tradisional sebagai bagian dari pembelajaran Gerak bagi siswa sekolah dasar. Melalui sosialisasi ini, anak-anak diperkenalkan olahraga tradisional “hadang” yang tidak hanya menyenangkan, tetapi juga membantu mengembangkan keterampilan motorik dan fisik anak. Program ini meliputi demonstrasi, Latihan, dan permainan interaktif yang mendorong partisipasi aktif siswa. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukan peningkatan minat dan antusiasme siswa terhadap olahraga tradisional, serta pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai pentingnya menjaga Kesehatan melalui aktivitas fisik. Dengan demikian, sosialisasi olahraga tradisional ini diharapkan dapat menjadi Langkah awal dalam membangun budaya olahraga dikalangan generasi muda
Kepuasan Kerja Ditinjau Dari Kualitas Kehidupan Kerja dan Budaya Organisasi
Full text linkAttention to working conditions and internal dynamics has become an essential aspect as employees increasingly demand positive working conditions and facilitate employee development. Companies need to ensure that workers not only receive adequate facilities but also experience positive values, norms, and patterns of interaction in their daily work routines. Quality of work life and organizational culture play important roles in enhancing employee job satisfaction. This study aims to determine the extent to which these two factors influence job satisfaction levels. The research subjects consisted of 152 employees of PT Mars Lestari Palembang, selected using a simple random sampling method. Data were collected using several scales: a quality of work life scale containing 41 items, an organizational culture scale with 25 items, and a job satisfaction scale with 33 items. The analysis results showed that the coefficient of determination (R Square) was 0.664 with a significance value of 0.00 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that quality of work life and organizational culture significantly affect employee job satisfaction
