    Decision in the pedagogical professional practice and the abduction’s function

    The aim of this short contribution is to present a summary of the decision problem within the profession of the pedagogist, and the fundamental role of the abduction  (’απαγωγή, retroduction) process in its proper context, in professional practice of the pedagogist, as in all professional practice involving the social and professional pedagogy. Pedagogy is a field for reflection, application and commitment or engagement to education. Moreover, pedagogy is establishing itself as a profession, the profession of the pedagogist (not of the educator, who is a different figure), in the socio-health, intellectual, cultural and aid profession field, even in spite of heavy delays and failures of the Italian laws and the resistance of professional groups related but already recognized both by law and by society. The so-called “pedagogical interlocution” is a paradigmatic form of the professional pedagogical practice. Decision in professional pedagogy, properly speaking, must be reached by the interlocutor(s), who must debate and develop it, with the aid of the professional pedagogist. Abduction is not a valid syllogism: it concerns a possible example of a general case or of a rule, whose the actual pertinence to this general case or this rule is mediated by the professional or expert assumptions. The professional approach of the pedagogist, from methodological point of view, is casuistic (case based) and situational as a form of aid given to the person, alternative and other than to the statistical-operational methodology that addresses rather to populations composed of individuals. Cases of general interest in professional pedagogy can be labeled as “casuistries” or “case study” categories. A good collection of casuistries - case study categories is provided by Erich Fromm, concerning the problems of family education; and by Viktor E. Frankl in his search for sense, Lebenssinn or λόγος. A further range of examples of categories based on case studies which can be dealt with a pedagogical professional methodology are the life and studies orientation problems. A fourth class of examples, applicable differently but methodologically similar, offers to us the autogenic training, particularly the choice of the propositional formula, called and eventually repeated both in the opening and in the closure, which must be adapted to the particular case of each single person; and this can be considered a specific pedagogical competence as the gradual training to the technique proposed by Johannes Heinrich Schultz reveals to be. Professional pedagogy, by this way, can make an important and an authentic and specific contribution to general discussion about decision in the social, human and cultural sciences (or human- sozial- geistes- Wissenschaften)

    The Effects of Using Dictionary Notebook in Native Language Education on Students’ Social Lives

    Word activities are very important for improving language ability in native language education. If children learn more words, they could read books thoroughly by enjoyment. Teachers use “Dictionary Notebooks” because they are new ways for step by step improvement while students are learning new words. The purpose of this research is to evaluate student’s opinions about “What is the importance of ‘Dictionary Notebooks for them?’”. The study was carried out with sixth-grade students in a middle school in the fall and spring semesters of 2015-2016 academic year at Yenice distirict of Çanakkale province. The research follows the qualitative research paradigm and the data was collected via semi-structured one-on-one interviews with 10 students. Case study design was employed in the current study. One of the researchers is Turkish Language Teacher in the target school. For this reason she interviewed her own students. On the light of our study it can be noted that as a habit formation it is better to start that unknown vocabulary note taking process as much early as possible

    Algebraic Hyperstructures and Fuzzy Logic in the Treatment of Uncertainty

    This study presents some fundamental aspects of recent theories  on algebraic Hyperstructures, an important tool for an interdisciplinary vision of Geometry and Algebra. We examine some hypergroupoids of events, useful for a new algebraic-geometry perspective in the study and issues of probability applications. This paper considers some fundamental aspects of fuzzy classifications and their applications to problems of evaluation and decision in Architecture and Economics. Finally, we present hypergroups and join space associated with these classifications. Iperstrutture algebriche e logica fuzzy nel trattamento dell’incertezzaSi presentano alcuni aspetti fondamentali della relativamente recente teoria delle iperstrutture algebriche, importante strumento per una visione interdisciplinare di Geometria e Algebra.     Finite Geometries: a tool for better understanding of Euclidean Geometry

    An effective tool to really understand Euclidean geometry is the study of alternative models and their applications. In fact, they allow you to understand the real extent of various axioms that, when viewed from the Euclidean geometry, seem obvious or even unnecessary. The work begins with a review of Hilbert's axiomatic, starting from more general point of view adopted by Albrecht Beutelspacher and Ute Rosenbaum in their book on the fundamentals of general projective geometry (1998), defined by a system of incidence axioms. Le Geometrie Finite: uno strumento per una migliore comprensione della Geometria EuclideaUno strumento efficace per comprendere realmente la geometria euclidea è lo studio di modelli alternativi e delle loro applicazioni. Infatti essi permettono di capire la reale portata di vari assiomi che visti dall’interno della geometria euclidea sembrerebbero scontati o addirittura inutili.     A Fuzzy Coding Approach to Data Processing Using the Bar

    The bar is an alternative to Likert-type scale as a response format option used in closed-form questionnaires. An important advantage of using the bar is that it provides a variety of data post-processing options (i.e., ways of partitioning the values of a continuous variable into discrete groups). In this context, continuous variables are usually divided into equal-length or equalarea intervals according to a user-specified distribution (e.g. the Gaussian). However, this transition from continuous into discrete can lead to a significant loss of information. In this work, we present a fuzzy coding of the original variables which exploits linear and invertible triangular membership functions. The proposed coding scheme retains all of the information in the data and can be naturally combined with an exploratory data analysis technique, Correspondence Analysis, in order to visually investigate both linear and non-linear variable  associations. The proposed approach is illustrated with a real-world application to a student course evaluation dataset

    In this current work, I am proposing a general close examination of Problem Based Learning as a student centered educational method in which a problem constitutes  the starting point of the learning process. Such a method provides students with the suitable knowledge for problem solving and presents numerous and significant differences compared to traditional education.In particular, I analyze the theoretic aspects of problem learning by tracing a history and presenting its structure, clarifying the role of the tutor in the various phases of the learning process. The method has found a wide diffusion since the beginning of the 70s and numerous studies have confirmed the advantages. The effectiveness of PBL is construable and is based on principles of constructivism and cognitivism

    According to the modern human capital theory, the learning process is assuming a central role for a country development. Therefore, it is very important to encourage an active and conscious learning. This paper shows the case of the National Olympic of Statistics, that is an initiative to improve statistic reasoning in the Second Grade Middle School. In particular, it has been analyzed, through Item Response Theory models, only one of the competition questionnaires. The aim of this work is to provide a critical review of the questionnaire and to highlight the importance of using statistical methods in evaluation processes
