Does Dose Calculation Algorithm Matter for Lung Cancer Treatment Plans in Radiation Therapy
Dose calculation algorithm in external beam photon radiation therapy forms an integral part of the treatment planning system (TPS). The accurate radiation dose estimation by dose calculation algorithm will prevent the over-dosage of normal tissues or under-dosage of tumor volume. In real clinical situations, however, accuracy of dose calculation algorithms can be limited, especially when the low-density tissue heterogeneities are encountered along the beam path. The main purpose of this article is to provide a brief communication on two most recent photon dose calculations algorithms: Analytical Anisotropic Algorithm and Acuros XB algorithm for lung cancer. The clinical application of these algorithms for lung cancer was chosen since lung involves low-density tissue heterogeneity, which has the greatest impact on the accuracy of dose calculation algorithms
Preparation of Titanium Dioxide Nanotubes and Effect of Anodization Time on the Surface Morphology
Vertically aligned titanium dioxide nanotubes are fabricated by anodization of titanium plates. The anodization is carried out with ammonium fluoride in ethylene glycol as the electrolyte. The surface morphology of the as-formed nanotubes were analyzed by using Scanning Electron Microscopy. The effect of anodization time on the morphology of nanotubes is investigated. Nanoporous structures are formed in the initial stages and on prolonged anodization, a clear transformation of nanopores into well separated nanotubes are observed. Excellent nanotubular arrays with an average diameter of 67 nm are obtained by continuous anodization for eight hours

Features’ compendium for machine learning in NGS data Analysis
BackgroundCurrent studies on the cancer genome, majorly involve use of next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies followed by data analysis pipelines. Many of these pipelines comprise of tools using machine learning algorithms especially for downstream analysis. Features are important components of machine learning systems and inclusion of informative features improves the accuracy of the machine learning algorithms. The algorithms used inNGS analysis leads to the generation of huge feature space.Sometimes, this high dimensionality leads to slower analysis time and lesser accuracy due to inherentbias of the model and/or redundancy of fewfeatures. With growth and interest in NGS studies, there has been a rapid development of new NGS analysis tools and improvement in the performance of the previous ones byincluding new features and excludingthe redundant ones. To enable these development, there is a dire need for standardizing this plethora of features available from literature.ResultsCurrent work presents a compendium of features that have been used in the literature for machine learning in NGS data pipeline and analysis. The features have beenfurther classified, assuming each stage of NGS data processing as individual category. The simple classification is a) Pre-processing features (b) Sequencing technology specific features (c) Downstream featuresor features for biological interpretation and analysis. This categorization will facilitate the use of correct features in a simplified manner.Conclusions The work will facilitate a uniform model for NGS tools development that utilize machine learning approaches for study of cancer data.A model for feature database and management based on this standardization is also proposed

Until a few decades back, books and physical documents played an important role in knowledge growth. The rapid change in library development is pervasive. The library has since moved to digital library from the traditional libraries. Nowadays, digital libraries are providing current and updated information to its users in a standard form. Digital library is an organized collection of information, a focus collection of digital objects, including text, video, and audio along with methods for access and retrieval and for selection, organization, and maintenance of the collection. Sub-Culture of Juvenile Delinquency in India
Juvenile delinquency is one the major problem to which India is subjected to, a social evil that put the future of the country at stake. This article deals with the nature of the origin of delinquent activities and the stages at which it takes place with perspective to Durkheim’s theory of “suicide”. If the nature and theorigin of a juvenile is understood than it is more beneficial to construct an approach not just to cure the social evil of delinquencies but also to campaign some preventions measure so as to stop such activities from its very root of origin. Stochastic and Optimization Models for Two Stage Cancer Studies with homogeneous processes
In this paper, the author’s developed stochastic model for carcinogenesis under the assumption of homogeneous birth-and-death processes using ordinary linear differential equations has been considered [1]. The statistical measures based on moments are derived from the developed model. Further, stochastic optimization programming problem is formulated to find the decision parameter involved in cancer growth/ loss. This study can evaluate the status of cancer levels over a specified period. Medical practitioners can make use of this study for assessing the status levels of disease controlling parameters and for optimal drug administration to cancer patients
