The Optimal Experience: Achieving Organizational Flow
No full textIs it possible for a non-human entity such as an organization to achieve flow? This is the driving question behind this article. Achieving FLOW has been described as a human experience. In order to achieve FLOW there are certain characteristics that need to be obtained in order to state experiencing the optimal experience. This article looks to introduce and argue that an organization can achieve this optimal experience. Utilizing the characteristics of high-performing organizations (HPOs), employee desires from their employers and FLOW, we make connections of these characteristics using motivational theory. Recommendations are also presented for the future.
Analgesic and Anti-Inflammatory Activities of The Ethanol Leaf Extract of Justicia Insularis (T. Anders) on Albino Rats
No full textThe ethanolic leaf extract of Justicia insularis (T. Anders) was evaluated for its analgesic and antiinflammatory properties using acetic acid-induced writhing and thermal (hot plate) methods for analgesic activity and egg albumen-induced oedema as a model of acute inflammation respectively. 100mg/kg Bodyweight per day of Acytyl Salicyclic acid. (ASA) was used as standard drug for analgesic. Phytochemcial screening of the plant extract gave positive tests for saponins, alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, anthraquinones and cardiac glycosides. The extract was dose-dependent and significantly at (P = 0.05). The median Lethal dose (LD50) was determined by intraperitoneal route which was calculated to be 2,449.49mg/kg using Lorke method. The experimental design used was a complete randomized type for all the studied parameters. The result further justified the use of J. insularis in herbal medicine for treatment of pains.
Developing a Web-Based Integrated Library Catalogue System Using Library Thing: A Case Study of Kuvempu University Library
No full textLibrary Thing is a social networking tool for developing library’s catalogue. It is an online platform for sharing libraries’ collection. It is a low-cost and user-friendly tool for libraries with limited budget and limited staffing. The study built a web-based integrated library catalogue system for Kuvempu University Library using LibraryThing. The present study has generated considerable interest in the library catalogue. The study found that a number of librarians from across the country have been implementing a LibraryThing catalogue in their libraries. This study used LibraryThing, outlining ways in which it can be used by libraries, and identifying its overall value for libraries.

Time and again it has been extended its boundary, number of population and its political character that we ever seen any city in India. To study the electoral behavior of its voters is really interesting and significant .Since its inception in 1958, every five years of interval, the election to small city has been conducting without interruption is well establish fact . The last Municipal Council’s elections was held on 20.09.2015 to elect 24 wards councilors along with three tier Panchayat institutions. The voters of the city have witnessed many changes in elections 2010 and 2015. In many respect, the 2015 elections of Port Blair city has significantly different from its previous 2010 elections. The study area of the paper is to high light the changing behavour of voters , who are divided in the line of language, regional identity, but not like caste and community.
Challenges and condition of sports in India
No full textIndia has no sports culture, we live in a country where every citizen/ student of country is running like a horse by their parents for high percentage/ c.g.p.a. in studies and after that their competitive exams. Parents are not examining the capability of a student and not interested for talent of children. India is running fast in science and technology but slow in sports. Due to lack of support, mis-management in selection, financial problems and training. These sports activities are very helpful in government jobs if participation in national/ state level program. I have seen many cases, in which the students are suffering from the sports problems

Rice Yield Prediction of Chengalpattu District for Samba season in Tamil Nadu by DSSAT CERES-RICE model
No full textCERES-Rice model was evaluated to simulate inter-annual yield variability (1979 -1998) and provide rice yield prediction (1999 - 2001) of Chengalpattu district in Tamil Nadu. Rice Yield of the district has varied from 1750 kg/ha to 3566 kg/ha between 1979 and 1998. Input requirement of model viz., daily weather data of Annamalai Meteorological Observatory, genetic coefficients of rice (samba season), respective soil properties and agronomic practices were used for simulation. Yield deviations (Ydobs) from single linear technology trends (Ŷobs) (Period 1979-1999) were used along with year-wise deviations in simulated yields (Ydsim) from its nineteen-year trend (Ŷsim) (1979-1999) for yield prediction. Deviations simulated to trend rice yields during 1979-1999 and its relationship could signify the importance in predicting the trend yield with RMSE of 269.43, Absolute per cent error 10.20 and further explain the orientation of forecasted yield for the period (1999- 2001)
