No full textSants (1964), the Social Scientist, gave importance to the the confusion resulting from a lack of a Sense of Identity. He termed it, “ Geneological bewilderment”, stemming from the lack of the anchor that a family gives, which is foundational to a person’s perspective of self. Purkey (1988), a Cognitive Psychologist also recognised the importance of “ROOTS” in the formation of a healthy sense of self that is challenged in times of challenges thrown up by life. Access and Use of Reference Sources and Services for Health Information among Nigerian Undergraduates: The Case of Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa Edo State
No full textHealth information is germane to undergraduates in making informed decision about their health and to adopt a healthier lifestyle. This study investigated the access and use of reference sources and services for health information among Nigerian undergraduates using Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa Edo State, Nigeria, as a case study. 123 questionnaires were retrieved out of 134 that were given out. The respondents were selected from the three colleges in the university. The data were analyzed using SPSS. It was discovered that undergraduates were aware of their need for adequate and up-to-date health information and were willing to access it in the university library. The study also established that there are barriers to adequately access health information reference sources and services in the university library. The study also affirmed the need to adequately equip the library with relevant, current and concise reference sources and other information resources that will meet the health information needs of the students. The study concluded that there is a need to train and retrain academic librarians so that they will be better positioned to offer reference services and make reference sources available in format that will be accessible and usable for the students.

From Anantajeevanam to Awakened Soil: An Instance of Self-Translation
No full textThis paper takes Anantajeevanam and its English translation Awakened Soil, a novel written and translated by Sahitya Akademi Award winner Kolakaluri Enoch, as a unique instance of ‘self-translation’. The paper takes in to consideration the various issues related to self-translation and the implications of such a process. One of the primary enabling factors of self-translation is the autonomy with which the author can take decisions about the means and modes of translation. While keeping this is mind, the paper will analyse the various strategies undertaken by the author-translator Kolakaluri, studying in the process the structures of narration and the language deployed. Post-Independence Political Context of Odisha as The Milieu of Guruprasad Mohanty’s Kaalapurusha
No full textHere, attempts have been taken to focus on the post-independence political state of Odisha as the milieucum-stimulus of the legendry poem Kaalapurusha written by Guruprasad Mohanty. Though he had written this poem under the influence of The Waste Land of T.S. Eliot, the best ever poem of twentieth century still it is true that every writer is present in his every work. With these words of Hugo, we can draw a conclusion that Guruprasad during the translation of The Waste Land has unconsciously or consciously put himself into the beaker with the anabolic reaction for forming the poem and stirred thoroughly to mix well during its genesis. This implies that the poem Kaalapurusha has been manufactured with the blood and flesh of the poet; his time and environment. Again, the most momentous environmental factor of the poem is the socio-political factor for which we see certain active genetic behaviors are there in it. The typical behaviors of the characters may be traced in this light. Being political by nature and since we are born to be political beings the attitude and influence both will be there in a literary creation.

Why Producer Using Social Media in Promoting Dried Mango
No full textSince the government’s policy on Free Domestic Investment (FDI) in 1998, the supermarkets in Indonesia are increasing from year to year. It is currently estimated that modern trade account is for more than 35% of food retail segment in Indonesia and is growing fast (World Bank, 2007). Between 2010 and 2015, Consumers preferred to shop at supermarkets because of good-quality products, cheaper prices, a lot of choices and shopping as recreation, but recently consumers prefer to buy products in easy way such as online shopping, or using social media. Facebook is one social media that is familiar with home industry in promoting their products. The changes of consumer behavior push dried mango home industry to produce the product as the consumer desires, but not all home industries are ready to change this phenomenon. The purpose of this study was to identify the producer’s characteristics of dried mango home industry, to determine what factors influence dried mango home industry, promoting their product using social media such as Facebook to their target market, to analyze the strategy of dried mango home industry in response to change in consumer preferences. This study was conducted with the survey. This research used primary and secondary data, primary data from the respondents while secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics and other institutions. This research gives the information to the goverment policy, marketing agent from local trader, wholesaler, modern and traditional agent markets to know what dominant factors influence in promotion using media social.
Air Pollution in NCR
No full textSince the past two decades, air pollution has become a global public health issue and identified as a major environmental health hazard. Due to rapid development, society is facing serious challenges such as: climate change, global warming, ozone hole, acid rain and smog. Increasing energy demand and growing per capita energy consumption has led to such serious challenges. Their notoriety is evidence for the growing concern about the human impacts on climate. Recently, the onset of winter in every year Delhi and National capital Region (NCR) of India witnessed hazy and dusty condition or smog, which prolonged for many days (October to November). In present investigation, on the basis of air quality monitored by various Government organizations for the years 2009 – 2015, the occurrence of smog in Delhi is studied and fog is categorized as mixture of Classical and Photochemical Smog. In present investigation the overall scientific aspects driving the research are as: important processes controlling levels of smog and surface exchange, impacts of smog on human health and the environment and important processes controlling the interaction between climate and air pollution
