Fintech in India: Revolutionising Access to Finance
No full textTechnology-enabled financial inclusion in India has been on top of the development agenda of the present government. The attempt to bring in the marginalized sections of the society within the ambit of the banking system is laudable. Smart phones have penetrated the nook and corner of India. Yet the rural population is still not too confident about using Internet banking or automated teller machines for withdrawing cash. The infrastructure development for internet connections in rural areas still needs improvement.The efficiency of existing Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) can be improved by improving the process of money transfers in the ATMs. Linking the Aadhaar number to bank accounts can simplify the process. Our aim is to provide another avenue for money transfers, without having the need for personal internet connection. Thus, those without access to internet can access the ATM for transferring or withdrawing money. This will result in more people reaping the benefits of a formalized financial sector in India eventually leading to a win-win situation. Those, without Aadhaar cards, can enroll for them and this will end up fulfilling the Government initiative of providing Aadhaar cards to all Indian residents. Secondly, those with non-operational bank accounts, especially the Jan-Dhan accounts would have an additional incentive to begin using them.Additionally, FinTech companies can use the opportunity to expand their business in India’s rural areas. Profitability Analysis of Handloom Weaving Units in Tangail District of Bangladesh
No full textHandloom, a traditional cottage industry in Bangladesh, has been contributing significantly to the rural economy of Bangladesh in terms of employment generation and income enhancement. In Bangladesh, handloom weaving activity is considered to be a marginally profitable business compared to other weaving options as well as other occupations. Therefore, the present study emphasizes on analyzing the profitability of handloom weaving units operating in Tangail district, a handloom concentrated region in Bangladesh. To this end, primary data of 53 handloom weaving units have been collected from two Upazilas of this district. From profitability analysis, the study finds that handloom weaving activity in the study area is still profitable albeit marginally. A disaggregated analysis revealed that small scale handloom units earn higher profit per loom compared to single units, medium scale units and large scale units. Contrarily, rate of return earned by large scale units is higher than that by other types of units. It is also found that handloom units, which produce higher value products earn more profit per loom than those producing lower value products. On the contrary, rate of return is lower in case of higher value products than that in case of lower value products. Extent of using family labor and economy of scale effect may have contributed to yield such differences

In present study impact of E- Commerce and E- Advertisement in business environment in Madhya Pradesh State was examined. In this research 801 respondents were examined. The obtained data were analysed by using SPSS 21softwere and reliability test was applied to check the reliability of the questionnaire. Correlation test has been applies to find relationship and One-way ANOVA has been used to analyse difference among different age group customers response on E- Commerce and E- Advertisement. The study revealed that there is significant difference among different age group customers response on E- Commerce and E- advertisement
Solution of Cubic Equations with Combination of Continued Fractions
No full textSolution of cubic and higher degree equations has always engaged attention of mathematicians from ancient times. Different approaches have been adopted to solve cubic equation; some transformed this equation to depressed form, some eliminated all the coefficients of this equation except cubic and constant term. By and large, all solutions seem tedious and require constant concentration in their derivation. With the purpose of finding a solution which is easily doable, use of combined two continued fractions has been adopted and this has given inspiring results.

Addressing the Plights of the Internally Displaced Persons in Nigeria: A Christian Response
No full textNigeria has witnessed relative deterioration of its internal security in recent times. This has led to the displacement of millions of Nigerians especially in the Northern part of the country. This paper examined noticeable activities of churches and Christian Organizations aimed at ameliorating the plights of the Internally Displaced Persons in Nigeria. The researcher carried out field work in three selected IDPs camps in Nigeria. The camps are New Kuchingoro camp, Durumi Area One camp both in Abuja, and Ugbokpo camp in Apa Local Government Area of Benue State. Findings show that the major problems confronting displaced Nigerians are lack of food, problem of shelter, poor health care, poor access to education, and lack of access to clean water supply. Churches and other Christian Organizations have been in the forefront of rendering humanitarian assistance to the Internally Displaced Persons in the country. They have provided food aids, shelter and non-food items, medical services, educational scholarships, as well as psychological assistance through counselling and prayers. The author recommends among others the need for synergy among churches and church organizations in rendering humanitarian assistance to the displaced persons
