ENHANCING MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITIES THROUGH THE TGT LEARNING MODEL ASSISTED BY MEDICA
Based on preliminary study results, it was found that students' mathematical problem-solving abilities were still low. This study aims to determine the improvement of mathematical problem-solving skills through the application of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model assisted by MEDICA. This research is a quantitative experimental study with a pre-experimental design. The research design used is the one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study consists of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Pati Wetan 01, with a total sample of 31 students selected using a census (total sampling) technique. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques involve normality tests and N-Gain tests. The N-Gain test analysis results show an overall improvement score of 0.66, which falls into the medium category. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the TGT learning model assisted by MEDICA can improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. These findings indicate that the application of the TGT learning model assisted by MEDICA is effective in enhancing students' mathematical problem-solving skills. This study suggests using the TGT learning model assisted by MEDICA as an effective strategy to improve elementary students' mathematical problem-solving abilities
LEARNING DESIGN OF EXPONENTIAL NUMBERS THROUGH THE DESIGN OF A HYPOTHETICAL LEARNING TRAJECTORY USING DISCOVERY LEARNING
This research aims to develop an effective learning design for understanding the concept of exponentiation by applying the Discovery Learning model using the Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) as the framework foundation. The research method used is a design research method consisting of three main stages: preliminary design, teaching experiment, and retrospective analysis. The initial stage involves literature analysis and the design of an HLT tailored to the concept of exponentiation. The instructional design is based on the prepared HLT and tested through two experimental stages: pilot experiment and teaching experiment. Retrospective analysis is conducted to compare the initial HLT with the Actual Learning Trajectory (ALT) achieved during the learning process. Data is collected through observation to monitor learning activities and environmental conditions, as well as through recordings of learning activities to gain an understanding of student participation in the design experiments. Additionally, Student Worksheets (SW) are used as aids for students to understand the concept of exponentiation, and evaluation questions are used to measure students' learning outcomes in the subject matter. Interviews are also conducted to gain a deeper understanding from the student's perspective. The results of this research make a significant contribution to the development of more effective mathematics learning methods, particularly in understanding the concept of exponentiation, and provide guidance for teachers to design learning that is more relevant to students' daily lives. The implications of the research results provide guidelines for teachers in designing learning that is more relevant to students' daily lives
IoT-based Water Quality Control in Tilapia Aquaculture Using Fuzzy Logic
Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is a prominent species in freshwater aquaculture due to its high protein content and economic value. Maintaining optimal water quality is crucial for the health and growth of tilapia, particularly in terms of pH levels. Deviations in pH, whether too acidic or too alkaline, can lead to decreased appetite and increased mortality rates in tilapia. The objective of this study is to design an intelligent control system to monitor and regulate the pH and temperature of tilapia aquaculture ponds using the Sugeno Fuzzy method integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The system employs DS18B20 temperature sensors and E-201-C pH sensors to collect real-time data on pond conditions. The data are then processed by an ESP32 microcontroller, which employs Sugeno Fuzzy logic to determine the appropriate adjustments to be made. The system administers pH buffers to maintain the water within the optimal pH range. Furthermore, the collected data are transmitted to a web server, enabling real-time monitoring and analysis. The findings indicate that the proposed IoT-based system is effective in maintaining water quality, ensuring that the pH and temperature levels remain within the ideal range for tilapia. This study demonstrates the potential of integrating IoT and Sugeno Fuzzy logic to provide a robust solution for managing water quality in aquaculture settings, enhancing the sustainability and productivity of tilapia farming

Lesson Study: A Systematic Routine to Enhance Students’ Social Character and Creative Writing Abilities
To effectively educate the future generation, instructors must keep up with the fast-paced global changes by being updated on advancements in science, technology, and educational trends. A very effective lecturer-teacher partnership program (KDS) that utilises lesson study can accomplish this objective. The primary objectives of the KDS are to foster educational innovation, facilitate academic research and publication, and actively involve educators and students in the field of education. The lesson study was carried out within the English Language Education Study Program, including two classes from the third semester of the Creative Writing Course, IIIA and IIIB. The program aims to cultivate and improve students’ social comportment and creative writing skills. Two iterations were carried out, and there was a noticeable augmentation in the students’ sociability from the first iteration to the second. Throughout Cycle 1, students exhibited tolerance and the ability to appreciate their peers’ perspectives. They enthusiastically participated and interacted during the group work. Their average achievement percentage was 67.47% and witnessed a remarkable increase of 85.14% in Cycle 2. The level of collaboration and unity in project completion rose from 57.61% in cycle 1 to 88.99% in cycle 2.
The students’ receptiveness to the learning environment significantly increased from 52.09% in cycle 1 to 85.14% in cycle 2. The cognitive domain has significantly enhanced knowledge acquisition, particularly in students’ creative writing skills. The proportion of students in IIIA, exhibiting this proficiency increased from 37% in cycle 1 to 77% in cycle 2. In class IIIB, there was a significant 40% surge, as the percentage escalated from 43% to 83%.
